2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid - Based on Logic

- The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid is the next step in the all-new Santa Fe and offers an impressive 6.9L/100 km (34 MPG) and is pretty well decked out for a base model. Throw in the Trend Package and you'll get a very well-equipped three-row SUV for under $50,000 CDN and low fuel consumption.
Would you take this over the Kia Sorento or Toyota Highlander?

Would you take this over the Toyota Highlander hybrid or Kia Sorento hybrid?
i cancelled my highlander hybrid platinum order and ordered a 2024 santa fe hybrid (base trim) because it was 30% cheaper than the highlander's top trim. And because Canada is the car theft capital of the world now and highlanders are one of the top 5 stolen cars so insurance companies are not kind to highlander owners.
Instead of $71,000 (after taxes) for the highlander hybrid platinum I paid $48,000 (after taxes) for the santa fe base trim (Canadian dollars)
My same dilemma
$43976 + $4000 (trend package) = about $48000 or I could get a used CX-90 MHEV Signature for around $53000. I'm sure the CX-90 MHEV Signature has way more features, power, etc. But not sure which one lasts longer/has better reliability, rides better, and has better NVH (Already test driven CX-90). I won't go for highlander as I hate CVT/eCVT period. I simply need a reliable hybrid powertrain 3 row SUV for the next 10 years, that rides well.
Subscribed and liked already. thank you
@Modern.Motoring guys what would you think of my dilemma?
You guys make any road trip / test drive most enjoyable
@@jamesnicol3831 Thank you :)
If Hyundai can manufacture high volume of this they will eat Toyota’s lunch as the Highlander Hybrid wait list is years not months long.
@@Ryan-cf6lc Great point!
When talking about people buying larger vehicles than needed, I find the three row segment buy this size for the extra storage more so than extra seats. Two kids with hockey equipment or a weekend away use up the storage space quickly.
@@Ryan-cf6lc Good point.
Please explain why I can’t find this color anywhere. Is Ocado green only available in Canada?
Im getting mine in 2 weeks ❤
Highlander for me! Thanks for the great video too!
I'd take the Highlander or Grand Highlander too. I'm just not a fan of the new styling, especially the back. To me it is a style that won't age well, I've seen some driving around and it already looks old. Not a big fan of all the screens (goes for all brands). I wish Hyundai would try get a brand look going and not do total change overs all the time. They've had some great looking models in the past, then totally change the look.
The highlander hybrid has long wait times (in Canada at least). Plus it's one of the top 5 stolen cars so enjoy paying more for insurance. Organized crime in Canada are telling 19 year old kids to bring them a specific list of cars: Toyota/Lexus/Range Rover etc. And when the police do catch the thieves they are out on bail the next day.
If you go highlander make sure you get TAG tracking, a faraday pouch for your key fob, and faraday box inside the house. I wouldn't get 'the club' because it seems like a royal pain to put on and take off every single day and it only slows thieves down by 1 minute.
Love my 2024 Santa Fe but the hybrid is missing the following :
Navigation
360 cameras
Memory seats
And much more
$67000 after tax and extra warranty coverage $3000 for paint and wheels that are not covered under the regular warranty 😭😭

odd they limit what variants of the Hybrid are available up north.. why no captains
Id love to see some Mid Sized Trucks for a change... I know youve done a few but 90% of the time All I see reviewed are these ' Shoe Boxes ' SUVs.. and dinky coupes and Sadans. You can hardly even get insurance here in the states for these because every other one ends up Stolen...
Another hybrid? 🤦🏻♂️
How about some diesel SUVs?
@@Thankyou_3 There aren’t any of those on the Canadian media fleet that we’re aware of 👀
diesel is the past. hybrid is the present. electric is the future
