    4yrs latter and this video is still helpful to me, because I have the same seadoo and same problem as you, been sitting for about 2yrs and I’m trying to get it started again before the summer runs out lol.... thank you guys...

    I bought two over winter got one running and just tested yesterday and it ran great mid throttle to full throttle. Off idle was boggy. I know it’s probably a dirty carb but couldn’t figure out how to access that front carb bolt, your vid helped. Going to take both carbs apart and hopefully have some fun this summer! Side note, Not a bad idea to replace your oil injection lines. Mine were super brittle. I see you still have the white painted originals. They will crack at any moment and you might burn up your motor. Cheap insurance I put a vid on my page about the oil injection lines. Thanks for the help 👊

    This video for sure helped me. This was rather one of the very detailed video that I came across on You Tube.

    Thank you for the video. I pumped out old gas, put in fresh. Then got the cover off the air filter/flame arrestor, sprayed starting fluid into it and got my ski started after it sat for 18 months. Feels like I hit the lotto!

    Great video. We have a 1999 Sea Doo Bombardier GTS that has sat up since we moved, Not running right now, so we are going to replace fuel lines, make sure fuel tank is cleaned out, clean carburetor I am hoping this is all it needs and doesn't cost me too much to repair. Most places that work on Sea Doos won't work on anything older than 10 years. So I am hoping we can do repairs ourself and getting our baby back on the water. Thanks for putting your video out here.

    Good video. After reviewing several videos about Sea Doo and wanting to DIY, I have a better knowledge of how these parts work and come apart. Risky but cheaper in the long run if you're mechanically incline. Thanks.

    nice. tip for everyone replace the grey fuel lines even if you have a running ski. it might not stay running. and at a bare minimum take the carb apart and clean that little filter. then ride it like you stole it

      Alex Stilwill How much work is involved replacing the fuel and oil lines and what is the approximate cost? I own a 96 SL780.

      Not much. The fuel lines can be found online for like $20. The clamps will be another $10 or so. It's not a difficult job.

      Shop will charge you 500. Just had carb rebuild x2 and lines done on my 96 xp. Got the heat resistant lines put on because seadoo sticks rubber next to the hot engine with no heat shield.Had a line rupture because of heat and cause all kinds of problems. Waiting to take it out for the first time since in a couple days! :)

    7/30/22.Oil pump lever is 180 degrees off. Oil lever should be in roughly 6:00 position before final adjustment after idle is set the notch in the Oil lever should line up with the notch on the block.

    I know this is a couple years old, but those are not Phillips Head Screws, they are JIS, Japan Industry Standard. If you use Phillips on them you will strip the heads. You can tell it is JIS by the small dot stamped into the head of the screw.

    How did you get in there to get the carb out?

    • @YouGotItGiyl
      @YouGotItGiyl  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The carb just bolts on to the intake. You've got to take 4 bolts off and it comes right out.

    You got a lot more things to check before you take it to the water otherwise you will just burn up the motor

    hi - stupid question, picked up a free 92 bombardier last month. New batt arrived today - swung it a few times, no spark. I cant find where the lanyard goes. looked everywhere, all i have is the press button to engage starter and the choke lever. Left handle is the kill switch, right lever only throttle - what am i missing? thanks!

      Is there a little plastic button on the right handlebar that you slide the split plastic lanyard key under?

    Did you have to siphon the fuel out before taking the carb out? And did you have to bleed the fuel or did you just let the engine do the sucking?

    • @YouGotItGiyl
      @YouGotItGiyl  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Luckily for me, the tank was already empty. I did not prime or bleed the fuel lines either. I just let the engine do the work.
