    On the vents, there are rubber grommets on those valves that come off. If you take off the rubber grommets and push the grommets into the hull hole, then you can easily push the valves into grommets that are installed in the hull. Good video.

    I had a seadoo that would start and die after rebuilding carb and fuel pump still had same problem...Turns out my problem was inside the gas tank both pick up lines under the cap had dry rotted split and fallen off so it could not suck the fuel. replaced started right up

    Jonathan great video. Thanks for sharing. I’m in the process of installing my rebuilt carb & fuel lines.I don’t know if I should do the oil lines on the carb. Were they gummed up? Also I’m trying to find the hi and low carb settings. Seadoo 1998 GTS 717 very low hours, bought her new in 1998. This weekend the challenge begins. Best Dennis

      Wow! Original owner on the best engine! That's cool. Ok so the carb doesn't have oil lines actually, but there ARE oil injection lines underneath. Yours are likely black. Definitely need to replace those ..and the oil filter too. Use plastic screen filter and not the cheap paper ones. Use tygon lines for the small oil injection lines. There is a procedure for priming and bleeding the oil injection system. Check out OSD Marine for these parts and kits. Owner is a good dude and well known/trusted. You can download the shop manual and parts manual online for free. There's also a carb chart for all those settings. About to send you some links ..

    Very informative video!! What type of fuel line did you use? manual says 6mm, but I don't really see that on amazon. 6mm is 0.24". I'm guessing the 1/4" line will work? Also, what total length did you need to replace all the fuel lines?

    • @jonparkmac
      @jonparkmac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it helped. 20ft roll of black auto 1/4" fuel line on Amazon. Or some of use use fast-fuel but will harden after like 100 years lol fuel-line.com/

    Thanks for showing us this. I wish I'd thought of taking the "glove box" out to get to the sending unit!!! LOL This is my first Seadoo and man is it giving me a hard time. A friend just gave it to me so I can't complain too much. I replaced all of the grey lines last week and it cranked up and ran perfectly at home...took it to the water and it ran great for about 5 minutes and then wouldn't crank. I'm thinking I should replace the fuel selector switch and rebuild the carb now. What are your thoughts? If it doesn't work, it'll be for sale!!!! hahah

    Quick question on the gas vent check valves. Did you just pull them out of the hull or was there a retaining clip or something?

    • @jonparkmac
      @jonparkmac  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just pull them out. They are rubber. Harder getting them back in, i had to put grease on them and clean up the hole with a round file.

    • @TomSpurlock
      @TomSpurlock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jonparkmac To reinstall, the trick is to pull the rubber grommets OFF the valves and install the grommets in the hull hole first. Then push the plastic valves into the grommet hole.

    I have a 1997 seadoo gtx and having issues starting. I'm thinking the fuel lines are clogged.

    • @jonparkmac
      @jonparkmac  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be. Put gas in the spark holes and see if she'll kickover for a few seconds. If so, fuel delivery not working. Otherwise could be no spark or compression.

    • @rafaeloliva1776
      @rafaeloliva1776 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonparkmac gas is being delivered to the spark plugs. I took the spark plugs out and they were wet. Also, there is sparks being produced so the spark plugs are still ok. I did realize there was some old gas in the lines. I got it to crank over a couple of times and stayed on for a few seconds, I even revved it then it just quits but it hasn't turned over after those couple of times. The motor sounds like it's trying to turn over but nothing happens.

    Hi Jon having trouble finding all of the parts. Where were you able to find most of the parts outside of the lines?

    • @jonparkmac
      @jonparkmac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      OSD marine is a great source. Easiest to find the part # in the manual and then search. And if not there search Google with part # and remove spaces .. all one number. Let me know what you can't find

    • @jonparkmac

      There is no fuel pump on these carb skis. It's built into the carb

    • @brodzowski
      @brodzowski ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know I'm late to the party here, but I'm sure he was talking about the little orange and black one you used to load the premix. The pump style. I have one too.

    • @jonparkmac
      @jonparkmac  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ignore that pump, I don't use it anymore. A better way is to blow into the return hose and force fuel to the input on the carb until it comes out the return nipple on the carb.. That tests your whole fuel circuit at the same time. I learned that after I did this vidi 🤘✌️

      Lol. There is no sign of them failing. If they do tho, I'll be keen on an alternative. For now tho, foolish to replace out of fear and speculation. Appreciate the debate and respect your opinion.
