I miss Thor’s voice and mannerism in EMH. It was soft spoken yet still enough to convey that sense of bravery and humility in him, plus the old English vocabs were always a treat. Travis Willingham as Thor in Assemble sounded too exaggerated for my taste and now he’s the go to guy for Thor so, oh well. Hemsworth I liked but now that his character doesn’t quite give off that old fashioned shakesperean Thor vibe anymore like EMH did he’s just not the same anymore.

Despite me agreeing with the overall point of this video, I have to say as an analysis it barely went into detail to why exactly EMH works and Assemble fail. It didn’t compare the art styles of both shows and how the former does a better job in capturing the look and feel of the Silver Age comics which showcase how its a modern interpretation of the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby/Roy Thomas run. It didn’t talk about how the character dynamics work between the two. It didn’t explain how well the respective shows do story telling and continuity. Hell it doesn’t even contrast the respective shows style of humor which really made a difference in how fans tolerate the shows.
Here's another thing Avengers Assemble lacks, color. It feels like everything is washed outed and duller. Color is used to convey emotion and tone in animation, but Assemble feels like it has two color palettes: daytime washout and nighttime washout.
I watched the entire Earth's Mightiest Heroes series (years ago now) and I can't remember most of it, or what it sounded like - but I definitely remember those designs, so kudos to the art team
The one thing that sticks out in my mind and will always be the one thing that makes me remember Earth's Mightiest Heros and that will be the intro song for it and the full version from season 1, not the edited version from season 2
"so kudos to the art team" And kudos to the colorists. I just can't stand the pale, bland look of AA, the colors and shading in EMH really POP, while the only thing that pops in AA is stuff like IronMan's supershiny armor.
I really miss Earth's Mightiest Heroes, it was pretty much my introduction to the Marvel universe at a time when I had not seen any of the MCU films (which was still in Phase 1 at the time) and was mostly more of a DC fan. Avengers Assemble blows, it's just a toy commercial made to tie-in with the MCU and has no heart or soul to it, it's more like the 80's toy cartoons.
@How How marvel has good cartoons such as Spider-Man TAS, X Men TAS, X Men Evolution, Avengers EMH and many more so next time come with some reasons and say why Marvel's cartoons in your words suck.
How How X-Men TAS and Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes pretty much rival in quality with those two mention DC Shows. You statement is false that Marvel couldn’t generate good shows of that same quality.
wcthesecret No it’s attacked. I always heard upset too, but the official lyrics say attacked, and it makes sense when you re-listen to it. Tormented and attacked vs Tormented and UPSSAAAAAAHHT
I think EMH nailed Captain America. It showed his spirit, pursavrence, courage, humalility and empathy more than any other version. That's what the MCU cap should have been

EMH made me a Marvel fan. The art design was distinct and memorable, voice acting was great and the stories respected the source material. AA is complete rubbish! It exists to promote the watered down MCU, the characters designs are bland and the stories are poorly written. MCU Thor pales in comparison to comic Thor and Hawkeye is annoying in AA, which is sad because he was awesome in EMH.
Melony Robinson EMH Hawkeye is my definitive version of the character. Renner’s version underwhelmed me for a good while back then due to how much I was setting the bar high for a live action Hawkeye after watching EMH

@john wick unfortunately so. it was beyond terrible even back then. they tried to make an avengers cartoon show WITHOUT the big 3. thats like doing a justice league cartoon without their big 3. granted they were trying to do a west coast avengers thing but no way would the average cartoon viewer would have gotten that
keyblader2k6 there wasn’t really a big 3 back then. And there’s still not really a big 3 now. While DC focused on their big 3(which isn’t always a good thing) and how the universe unfolded around them. But before the MCU Ironman was just a C rate hero. And Hulk and Captain America were the most popular characters at the time.

Half of every Avengers Assemble episode is literally Hulk Thor and Hawkeye fighting over snackfood like cookies. It seems like a show made by someone who really hates the characters working for a company that wants to avoid character depth or complexity.
Average my ass, A-EMH is fucking amazing it's nothing short of spectacular, epic and jaw dropping, the way they manage to update and incorporate different characters, as well as making a lot of the lesser known charaters feel genuine and iconic, being true to the source material and using those core ideas and concepts to create a show this good, an awesome narrative and build ups to later threats and events (it's mind blowing how good it is, or was), I mean yes there're like maybe three episodes that aren't that strong but for the most part, villains and heroes alike get their moment to shine and quite frankly, puts a lot of the latest decisions for both the Comic Books and the Movies to shame, and they prove that some changes in the movies were for the worse, the movies are in a rare spot at the moment and the comics well, I'm always optimistic that great stories will come along, even if there are fewer of them.
@@dylansharp8471 You like or enjoy any of the Shows in D+ with the bait and switch, or the movies, the only good movie that has come out since Endgame, was Spider-Man (No way Home), and they just butcher Thor, no pun intended.
My favorite EMH episodes were when the Avengers Reserve Unit had to be activated because they lost to Kang. Spiderman, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Thing, War Machine, Wolverine all get called into action.
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes was so good because it felt inspired by the comics. The first team is the original team from the original comics. It was more comic book like in nature and felt like stories that you would see in comics and even referenced the comic storylines like how Cap’s shield was broken in the comics and then it was broken in the show. Plus the characters looked like the comic book character with a few tweaks. Avengers Assembled is inspired by the movies and feels like the movies. It doesn’t feel as grand and bonkers of EMH. It tried to capitalise off the movies but didn’t work and just feels lacklustre. But the most annoying thing is that EMH didn’t even get to properly finish. It finished half way through a storyline with Thor and then boom, Assemble came in. Marvel need to bring back EMH to finish the world they created.
Yeah avengers assemble is not a great show. Between an inconsistent animation which sometimes was unreasonably cheep, and very average sometimes silly plot the whole thing felt like a cheep cartoon made for promoting toy sells to little kids (which it was). And yes, I would much like to see a whole series explaining why it is a piece of trash. Maybe you can also talk about DC animated properties and why they so much superior compared to current Marvel one.
Makes sense. They had him show up for a couple of eps in S2 and even a cameo all the way back in S1 while he’s still serving with Cap in WW2. I can totally see their expanding the universe with X-Men’s introduction through Wolvie
it is freaking obvious that avengers assemble tried to cash in with the popularity with that of the MCU with the similar roster and character dynamics and references whereas EMH was filled to the brim with passion because the stories and episodes are a combination of the 60s stories and with modern stories as well.
Why is the Wasp featured in most of the animations and comics but the Wasp in the MCU still hasn't joined the team after five Avengers films (including Civil War)??
EMH was the best simply because of how they portrayed Ultron. He was a cold, calculating machine that actually posed a threat. The first time the Avengers fought him, he literally disintegrated Thor and barely lost because he was programmed not to hurt Wasp. In Assemble, he felt more like a mustache-twirling villain who hardly did anything despite being juiced up on five Infinity Stones. That version always fell a little flat for me. In Age of Ultron, he was a bit too sassy for a genocidal robot, which is in part thanks to being made by Tony. I do find his philosophies and biblical references to be very interesting, but I think that could’ve been managed if he was still a cold-blooded killer.
To me it always felt like the writers behind Assemble were writing the characters as if they were teenagers rather than adults. I’m not saying adults can’t be written to be immature, but there needs to be a level of maturity there to help distinguish them.
My favorite thing about the "Everyone's Hulk" episode is that EMH also has an "Everyone Gets Exposed to Gamma Rays" episode and EMH's take is better in just about every way. Put the group shot of all the Avengers as Hulks next to the group shot of everyone as Gamma monsters. There's no contest.
I have many favorite stories/episodes from this show. But my TOP faves have to be when the team gets sent into each of the Nine Realms and the introduction of Beta Ray Bill, a character who needs a PROPER cinematic introduction
Earth's Mightiest Heroes was my absolute childhood! We had every episode on disk in proud display and I loved every moment of it. Especially every scene with Tony!
I just rewatched EMS on disney+ and did not know that they were gonna do a third season with thanos, the xmen, doctor strange, ragnorok, planet hulk, the infinity stones, and takes place 10 years later... I'm pissed they canceled EMS for avengers assemble
Hot take. I definitely prefer Earth's mightiest heroes. However I personally don't think that the Avengers Assemble is all that bad. I treated Avengers Assemble in a different way, I treated more as a light version of The Avengers. Sure maybe too light but... I felt it was more just just a way to get people into the Avengers brand itself. Its similar Teen Titans go. They simplify everything, sure sacrificing detail but its just a fun romp of a show, not something to be taken seriously. Kids and those not very familiar will watch it, they'll see the basics of the character but then once their interested as welcoming fans of Avengers its our job to taking these new fans and show them the ropes and whatnot. I'm not saying Avengers Assemble was an amazing show I personally don't think it was the worst thing in the world.
The scene that was in the video was it from josh keaton or Grant George caused I refuse to believed Josh Keaton would have terrible time in voicing Ant Man.
Couldn’t disagree more on the voices though, EMH performances and voices fit better for me. Part of the problem is direction and writing of Assembled though. Confident saying that because Hulk is the only retains his voice in both shows, and he’s a lot better in EMH.
Es agradable lo tranquilo que es el video. Como para escucharlo mientras estas haciendo otra cosa y de vez en cuando te das vuelta para ver a Ojo de halcón modo hulk romper su arco. Buen video, espero mas asi. Saludos desde Argentina

You could always just watch them on KimCartoon if you want to watch them for free. I mean both shows can be purchased (hell for Justice League you can watch that and other DC shows on DC Universe). But there are free (and a bit illegalish) ways to enjoy the show for yourself.
I'm pretty sure Miss Marvel and Vision join the avengers in EMH, also fun fact, if EMH got a season 3 Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would have joined the avengers, and the x-men would have been introduced. Oof.
Honestly EMH was far better because it was more willing to embrace the stylized or ridiculous nature of the comics. The colors are brighter, the costumes are more classic, and the backgrounds and animation are beautiful like they were ripped straight out of a comic book. Plus it was willing to have a much bigger world that didn't feel constrained by the movies, and was able to introduce a much bigger and more diverse rogue's gallery that manages to give enough info to keep even newcomers engaged without feeling the need to get bogged down in exposition dumps. Plus EMH Carol Danvers made me like the character, Bree Larson made me dislike her.

I loved EMH because of... The theme song The story line The unique animation Comic based The villans There were more superheros other than the avengers like fantastic 4, Spiderman and X-Men. And in my opinion I LOVED THE SKRULLS
I preferred the cartoony EMH designs over the plain uninspired realistic look of AA's character designs, the latter screamed soulless to me because they move so stiff and the detail on Hulk's face disgusts me. Other than that EMH was super memorable and even to this day after getting to it in 2016 I can still say it holds up perfectly and is a love letter to Marvel trying to make a superhero cartoon that actually knew what it wanted to be. AA simply exists from the shadow of the MCU and even worse appeared to try and I can't say this more honestly but failed to be a competitor to the DCAU's Justice League, because they made it into an expanded universe of various other superheroes and I love JLU but AA has nothing going for it at all to compete against such a masterpiece that is Justice League or its predecessor EMH.
Avengers assemble and ultimate spiderman and hulk agent of the smash and guardians of the galaxy is better than spactacular spiderman and Avengers earth mightiest heroes and wolverine and the X men
as a reminder, EMH was the first time we saw the guardians in any cartoon, mostly thanks to the popularity of rocket's inclusion in umvc3. and it had a totally different line-up compared to the movies: starlord, rocket, quasar, adam warlock and groot. it also was more closer to the comments when it came to starlord as it made him more of a war-vet than a man-child. also, cockney rocket.
I seriously miss Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The way it was cancelled was just stupid, because it didn't promote the MCU movies, even though it wasn't the shows intention. It mostly because it tried to be it's own thing and actualy had good writing, great animation, action and didn't have villians that are just there. Ultron was terrafying, Loki was actualy threatning and wasn't just comic relief.
Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes was a great superhero. The story was great featuring many fun heroes and villains. All the episodes were great and they had fun plots. The big heroes as well as a few smaller lesser known heroes got a chance to shine. I really enjoyed the one episode where Hank hired Luke Cage and Iron Fist to find his stolen Ant Man gear and the one where Spider-Man, Wolverine, the Thing, War Machine, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist were summoned to form their own team of the Avengers to fight Kane the Conqueror. Overall it was a great show.
So I've only watched EMH way back when I was younger and to this day I count it as one of the best-animated shows I've ever watched The theme was so freaking cool and how they did Secret Invasion was insane to me. Every episode you had no idea who was a Scroll or not
One of my issues with the MCU is how it basically killed Hawkeye's comic design and now he always just looks like a dude with sunglasses on. Sure, the purple acrobat suit thing looked silly as hell, and that's what was so cool about it, it reeked of that good old comic book silliness; a clear mark of its inspirations.
I recently rewatched Earth's Mightiest Heroes recently and was surprised that it was really great. First season was better than second, but even that had it's moments. I liked how the show took time to set up large events and how characters evolved throughout the entire run - not just heroes, but villains as well. This show definitely has my favorite incarnation of Ultron and Baron Zemo. And i just like thst it's not about some character joining Avengers, but about avengers themselves. It still astonishes me that they put the work to set up Secret Invasion one season before it happened. But yeah, the setting up was also one of downfalls, because many plots didn't get resolved because of it's cancelation. And in second season, it just felt like they gave up on explaining how there are so many new heroes/villains - we were just supposed to live with it. It worked for Guardians of the Galaxy, but not as much for Doom.
I’m si surprised that someone with your criteria has so many views. EMH is pretty much the best avengers animated series so far, it covered a lot of stories, most of the origin stories are accurate, iron mans suits grow as the show does, cap America doesn’t start as the leader, the first team is the original comic first team, FYI the tittle screen shows the active avengers team at the moment that episode was airing.. There’s just too much to explain about that show.. you need to read a little about what you are talking about
EMH was so much better. Disney canned it just to try and make a show more similar to the MCU and not only failed to make a good show, but ruined the diversity of having a multiverse of alternate versions of characters.
The animation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes is soo much more vibrant and alive. Avengers Assemble's is extremely dull, has no personality, and the character designs are way clunkier, especially Iron Man. He was much more sleek and modern looking in EMH but was clunky and washed out in AA.
Earths mightiest heroes was one of my favorite show as a child. I grew up with two geek parents and with comics and superhero shows. I remember stealing boxes of my fathers comic books and reading them by flashlight. Earths mightiest hero’s was the comics but more for kids and it was fun. I didn’t watch avengers assemble because I stopped watching most Disney around then.
Although I was a kid for each of these series, I enjoyed them both. My only issue is with Avengers assemble. It seems like it was a bit more childish and easy to guess what would happen next.
Emh had such better stories because they were based off the comics and the costumes were cool, i don't want everyone to have realistic suits i prefer to have them look like comics
Good analysis on these two shows. I've seen more Avengers Assemble than Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Also I'd love for you to make a series of you riffing on Avenger's Assemble.
Eh I wouldn’t call it good as she barely dig deep as to what make EMH truly work as a series and why Assemble failed. Doesn’t help that she said she barely remembers the former and deemed Steve to being boring while missing the whole mentor characterization he is showcasing.
As a kid, I watched EMH as much as I could. Absolutely loved it. As soon as I heard they were making an Avengers movie, 12 year old me watched the few MCU movies that were out. Then I watched Avengers in the theater.
It's funny, one of the reasons that I didn't watch past the pilot of Assemble is that I didn't like the art style at all. I found the faces falling into the uncanny valley and the shading was "too good" (it draws too much attention to how 2D the animation is, I can't wrap my head around it)
One thing I prefer of EMH over the MCU is Wasp over Black Widow, BW is okay but the Wasp is a better member, she's the heart of the team, she keeps the tone of team light and makes sure to keep all these assholes in line.
Yeah. Hell, in the original script of Avengers, she was actually going to be in the movie as a founding member. But I guess either due to Ant-Man not being released in Phase 1 like the others or not wanting to have too many characters, she wasn’t included in the films final product. Just like Green Lantern for the Justice League movie

Here's another thing Avengers Assemble lacks, color. It feels like everything is washed outed and duller. Color is used to convey emotion and tone in animation, but Assemble feels like it has two color palettes: daytime washout and nighttime washout.
Season 5 is alot more colorful

I definitely remember most of the series AND how it sounded.
For example, the voice actor for Stark sounded near identical to Robert Downey Jr.
The one thing that sticks out in my mind and will always be the one thing that makes me remember Earth's Mightiest Heros and that will be the intro song for it and the full version from season 1, not the edited version from season 2
"so kudos to the art team"
And kudos to the colorists. I just can't stand the pale, bland look of AA, the colors and shading in EMH really POP, while the only thing that pops in AA is stuff like IronMan's supershiny armor.
The full series is on Disney Plus now.
How bout the intro song don't tell me you don't remrmber it though...
I really miss Earth's Mightiest Heroes, it was pretty much my introduction to the Marvel universe at a time when I had not seen any of the MCU films (which was still in Phase 1 at the time) and was mostly more of a DC fan.

Spiderman, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Thing, War Machine, Wolverine all get called into action.
Avengers EMH was Marvel's JLU, the art & story is straight out of classic comic book.

Ultron is like would you rather

EMH was a vastly superior show. Better art, better character designs, and far far better writing.
So I've only watched EMH way back when I was younger and to this day I count it as one of the best-animated shows I've ever watched
The theme was so freaking cool and how they did Secret Invasion was insane to me. Every episode you had no idea who was a Scroll or not
I have the DVD so you not the only one
One of my issues with the MCU is how it basically killed Hawkeye's comic design and now he always just looks like a dude with sunglasses on. Sure, the purple acrobat suit thing looked silly as hell, and that's what was so cool about it, it reeked of that good old comic book silliness; a clear mark of its inspirations.
Avengers assemble MCU disign
There’s just too much to explain about that show.. you need to read a little about what you are talking about
Disk wars the Avengers is better than EMH and future Avengers and ultimate Avengers and comic Avengers

It's funny, one of the reasons that I didn't watch past the pilot of Assemble is that I didn't like the art style at all. I found the faces falling into the uncanny valley and the shading was "too good" (it draws too much attention to how 2D the animation is, I can't wrap my head around it)

But I guess either due to Ant-Man not being released in Phase 1 like the others or not wanting to have too many characters, she wasn’t included in the films final product. Just like Green Lantern for the Justice League movie
EMH was the one of the few Marvel cartoons that was up there with Justice League Unlimited and the rest of Bruce Timm's DCAU
Nah bro
