The accurate range alone makes it worth the money 👌

One of the comments inspired me to hill test my vx5 pro more thoroughly since that part was left out of the video. I took it up the two steepest hills in my neighborhood, length and angle of incline courtesy of the new york cycle club. The first was ~500 ft long with an average grade of 8.4% The scooter climbed it with no apparent struggle. The speed (according to the vmax app) didn’t dip below 10.5mph (except when I ran into a pothole at the end) and peaked around 12mph. The second hill was both steeper and significantly longer, coming in at .34 miles long at average grade of 9.4%. The parts at the beginning and end were steeper, i would guess at least 10% though I didn’t have the tools to measure it exactly. This one was harder, but the scooter made it up, ranging from 9.7-11mph the entire way. Though it was slow, it never felt like it was in danger of giving out or losing forward momentum. The battery was at 100% when I hit the first hill, and 85% when I hit the second hill. Would definitely not recommend attempting a hill as steep and long as the second one with less than half battery. Speaking of which, the exercise drained my battery much faster than a regular ride; the battery was at 59% after 5.5 miles when I got home afterwards, projecting a range of about 13.4 miles. Earlier today, I rode 14 miles over more level ground and still had 30% battery when I got home, projecting a range of 20 miles (I have the ST model, which is only supposed to give you 17 miles of range- I expect the inflated number is due to the fact I’m going off the app’s odometer numbers which are no doubt optimistic). I did both rides at as close to top speed as I could accounting for traffic lights/pedestrians and such. In other words, definitely no powerful hill climber but able to get the job done when called upon and definitely impressive for the $500 price tag. Overall, I’m very happy with the scooter, especially considering the low price tag. Hope this helps!

    A small converting error guys, 36.8 lbs = 16.6 kg not 59.2kg.

Great review! Thumbs up to VMAX for its app perfection. In contrast, I found the KQi3 Max so aggravating that I got rid of the scooter after a year then passed on the 300X when it it was released. Loved the quality, style, ride and mechanical features... despised the app. The VMAX VX2 Pro GT replaced my KQI3 Max, where it's used as a "car trip" vacation scooter. Such a great, compact, range-y scooter for when you don't want to deal with the weight or bulk of a dual motor sport scooter.

Can't wait for you guys to review the VX2 Extreme and see how it compares to the Pro! I love a simple, lightweight scooter that has great range, acceleration and hill climbing.

Thanks so much. Sadly, hill climb was missed on this review. In the future the plan is that I will test pretty much all of the scooters, so we have consistency, and Mitchell will do other types of content. I don’t know that we’ll have time to go back and pick up some of the numbers, but I’ll try. -Paul

I have had my vx5 pro for only a week, but so far the hill climbing is way better than I expected. I live in a very hilly part of NYC and my commute to and from work requires tackling some lite to moderate hills and I’ve had absolutely no problems. On the steeper slopes, it still usually goes 13/14mph all the way up- there’s one in particular that’s a third of mile long that I thought would be an issue but the scooter topped it no problem. This is all for a scooter that has about 60 miles on it so far though, and I don’t think I’ve tried it on any hills steeper than 5 degrees incline, so pinch of salt and all that

@@nostalgiakid100 I really appreciate you doing that. There are plenty of free inclinometer apps, which is how I found that my hills are 6 to 9 percent each depending on where. Unfortunately the hill is the only way back from where I'm coming from and it's probably at least 3/4 of a mile long.

@@wildwing94ckan I think 6 degrees over 3/4 of a mile would be manageable, but 9 would be a lot. I bet the scooter would still make it, but taking data from today’s test, it would eat at minimum a quarter of your battery (assuming you get the highest range gt model) not to mention take forever. I’d suggest going with the vx2 pro. It’s only a couple hundred bucks more and from what I’ve seen, a much better hill climber
