Hmmm seems like a lesson to be learned just because something might be bad doesn't mean something good will come from it. This is what happens when people complain about something all the time.
Closest thing I can think of is the “Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie” which is all of the early Star Wars concept art for the original trilogy, it is 200$ - 800 large pages and really 2 books
There's also the two volumes of The Star Wars Archives by Paul Duncan that are $200 each. They are huge oversized books that are both over 600 pages each the first one covering the original triology and the 2nd one covering the prequels. The book publisher also offers a much smaller cheaper version with a decreased page count of both the books for just $40.
@@MatthewFabbYes two trilogy books from Taschen. I hold both copies and they are massive books. 600+ pages and weighing around 8-9kg (20 pounds) each. A gigantic book that throws an impression and filled with in depth, behind the scene information. If that one costs 200 dollars, this book should certainly be less than 100 dollars
Holy crap I can not WAIT for this to come out so that I can never ever buy it and forget it exists… really don’t wanna spend over $100 on a book when I could buy more plastic shaped like spaceships.
Yeah it wouldn’t have been hard to throw in a retro Luke and Vader to make that toy fair invitation or something. This is just something to download the pdf for.
For that price tag, I would've definitely wanted more behind the scenes/cancelled sets to be shown! Price wise, I think 100 at most would be acceptable! 😊

Super happy LEGO recognized David's MOC in the book. I am definitely going to pre-order. That said, I agree with David that for the $150 price tag, this should have included a more detailed timeline and an exclusive minifigure, and even an exclusive polybag build.
It is $240 here in Australia. I've never known a book so expensive in my life - and I have an Engineering Maths book that is large enough to crush a person's head, which only cost me $110.

So awesome to see that they included your MoC in the book. For some reason I feel super proud. What a ride it has been. I still remember when you started Kashyyk
I feel like this books price is LEGO basically saying “well we know our adult collectors already pay insane prices, might as well charge UCS prices for the book,” which I find insulting. The book itself looks fantastic, stunning piece for any long time fan
Congrats for making the cut into this book! That’s really cool! Hope you get a little something in exchange. About the price, yes it is expensive but it is in line with this type of books.
I'm so glad we got people like you reviewing LEGO sets, or a book in this case, to let some of us have a better idea as to what we may be buying. Personally, I really find this book interesting but I think on it's own, it would be more appealing at a $50 price. I'm not really sure what LEGO were thinking when they put $150 as a price tag on this to be honest, even with this "deluxe edition". Let's hope they do a "peasant version" for a sane price. And congrats for getting your Geonosis MOC published in an official LEGO book David, that really is something else!
Regardless of what anyone says, I don’t think this whole package is worth more than $80. It’s a damn book. Yeah there’s cool stuff but even hardcore Lego Star Wars fans are having a hard time justifying this purchase. They should’ve had at least 3 exclusive figures for $150 but that still wouldn’t have justified that price. I’ll get it if it goes on a deep clearance sale which I feel will happen. Just shows Lego’s greed once again.
This book seems really cool! I love Lego prototypes, and even though there didn’t seem to be many images of them, the few new prototype images we did get make me really happy.
There are also amazing Star Wars Archive books that are $200 on the market. I’ve seen one in person and there is so much information and images in them and they are high quality products
lovely video, the book seems great, i hope they will release a book-only version one day. it was awesome seeing you go into the bookstore and i'm grateful you've shown most of the different chapters for those of us who can't read the book yet.
You could definitely sense the joy in your voice when you were thumbing through the book - it does look like an amazingly in-depth book and one that I would love to enjoy reading. Just a shame at that price it’s unlikely.
Congrats on making it into the book! The book and goodies reminds me of the recently released Jurassic Park ultimate visual history book. On top of the concept art, it came with tons of extra stuff like park brochures, blueprints, and scripts
Congratulations Solid bricks officially in print! Think the price is for collectors, the scarcity due to the off putting price will make it a good investment. Congrats again, genuine affirmation for some of your life choices is probably priceless
Thanks so much for going so thoroughly this set. Those "coffee table" books are usually a higher price point but I can see the license and extras driving up the price. Still a great bundle. I just focus on those hard cover books that focus on building techniques for LEGO. As a newer AFOL, I find the investment in those (via discounts on Amazon) more worth the value. Hope to get to the building skill level that you have. Congrats on getting your MOC in there - you're part of history man!
Nice they included yourself and other MOC builders but unless it wasn’t in there I wanted more prototypes. I’m quite disappointed in this book for not including more images but I look forward to maybe read in it one day idk mixed bag personally. Again congrats being in the book David.
