- I looked at wikis for various PBS Kids shows, and discovered the wild comments that laid within. From among all the shipping wars, insults, and other interesting conversations, I chose some of my favorite comments to share with you. I hope you'll find them entertaining!

@@lalaemi264 Well that's mostly for the joke factor, but like almost every Disney Junior show in the past 11 years has some sort of lore, backstory, or unanswered questions, that are theorized by the fans. Sofia The First, Miles from Tomorrowland, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, The Lion Guard, Elena of Avalor, the list goes on for quite a bit.
Unfortunately most of them are never answered bc Disney likes to treat them different than the ones on Disney XD, and they just run them for 4-8 years only for them to be thrown in the scrapyard so we can forget about them. (But we never did). So it's pretty much up to the fans to speculate for themselves.

Okay, can we talk about the dystopia that is the Odd Squad universe? The Odd Squad organization has completely taken over the world. Their members are not only immortal (as shown by flashbacks, and that family with the daughter who grows up while Olive is still the same age, and that kid who was kicked out growing into an adult), they are also the only people allowed to have an education. Just look at how little the common people know about anything! They have to have addition explained to them by children. Even the mayor is under the control of the Odd Squad! All he does is hold ceremonial cheese festivals, and doesn't govern at all. Not to mention how Odd Squad labels anyone who behaves out of their rules as "villains" and constantly imprison them and even send some the "reeducation." This whole show is just so messed up.

It gets worse when you find out their only defective member was kicked out for seeing the beauty in abnormality rather than conformity.
also everyone’s name started with the letter O. not a crime but like it was a requirement to join the squad. you had to have the letter O to start off your name

There's an Arthur episode basicaly about capitalism, where Muffy takes credit for a pie that all the kids worked on but since she owned the means of production, she was able to reap all the benefit
as a fairly wealthy kid I still get punished for my actions if I behave badly.
True (and funny/sad) story: Once in my high school French class, 4 years ago, my bitchy French teacher googled Naughty Noo-Noo from Teletubbies in a middle of a lesson because she thought the “noo-noo” part was French (“noo” sounds like “nous”, which means “we”) and the first thing that popped up on her computer was the Teletubbies Wiki. She angrily stated “That’s pathetic. What kind of sad, unintelligent life do you have to live to be a grown adult that runs a Wikipedia on a show for stupid infants?” She then bitched for 20 minutes about how her kids grew up with “intelligent” PBS shows like Wishbone and Reading Rainbow in the ‘90s while us 2000s kids were exposed to animated “bullshit” on PBS that rotted our brains, then compared it to why we sucked at French (she actually made everything in that class ridiculously hard and only a few of her students got As or Bs). Everyone (especially me) hated her because she always interrupted her lessons with these angry, opinionated rants and clearly chose favorites and least favorites in her classes.
This isn’t related to PBS kids, but about a year later, the same French teacher got expelled from my school district and lost her teaching license because she talked about her genitals in explicit detail in front of a bunch of 14 year olds (one of whom actually happened to be me) and slapped a foreign exchange student.
I’m a college student now, and I love gorging myself with childhood nostalgia when I’m not suffering with class work or falling asleep in class. I just started rewatching Arthur and Word Girl for the first time since I was 7.

When I was younger I had just discovered fanfiction so I was looking up all the shows and movies I know to see if they had fanfiction because I was curious. I looked up Wild Kratts fanfiction. Now, I’m sure you’re assuming I came across porn. No. I came across a fanfiction where Noah’s flood (you know, from the Bible) happened again and the Kratt brothers and Aviva were trying to make another ark. This scarred me for some reason, I think it was the notion that something like that could just happen at any time. Anyways, don’t do what I did.

Lmao I remember the first time I discovered fanfiction. It was my little pony, and the one I remember the most is Twilight Sparkle had the power to just write papers disproving the existence of certain things and then they would cease to exist, so Celestia had her do it to threaten other nations into compliance 😂 and I think eventually she disproved the existence of their whole universe and they ceased to exist the end

ya know... for an 'innocent' children's show, you would be surprised at the many dark and angsty ao3 fics there are in the Wordgirl community. Saving Tobey is such a prime example of this. So many great fanfic writers have joined the fandom and I'm absolutely here for it!!

I feel the need to make my discovery of the animaniacs fanon wiki known. It is an absolute goldmine with poor moderation, vandalism of random pages (at least two of which were by the same person. Seriously, look into page edit history. It’s wild.) for canon and original characters, and some really weird fan art . It’s my favorite place on the internet and I need to make my love for it known.
I got curious and looked it up, went on it, clicked 'go to random page' and it came up with an in-depth page about the ARMENIAN GENOCIDE... WHATTTT I am howling

Did anyone else find the teletubies, boobah, and word world as fascinating as I did? I can’t say I really watched that much of them (except maybe teletubbies) but I was always fascinated by how their worlds worked. Am I weird for that?

I really loved the house of the teletubbies. You know, with the slide and those toast-cookies (whatever they are), and even the vacuum was kinda cool. The sun was creepy, but other than that I did like it xD

I grew up on Disney and Wild Kratts and I remember having the BIGGEST crush on the Kratt bros and rewatching the series about 8 years or so later I can see why

god i had the weirdest obsession of hacker from cyberchase as a kid. i would draw him all the time and tape fabric and yarn to my drawings so I could touch him...I called them "exercise boards". in all seriousness, tinky winky the purple teletubbies was one of the “first” lgbt-coded characters in kids media that i can think of.
besides like…jughead, and some of the disney villains, and probably velma from scooby, but none got the kind of mainstream attention tinky wonky did. i don’t even think it was the creators intentions to make him gay coded, but i remember people in the early 00s flipping out about it, because how dare a purple alien with a tv in his stomach not be straight.

5:52 ok ok so call me crazy but there's some things i need to say.
Basically this immage made me laugh so much i did a research on that episode for context.
Doing the research i found out that Dipsy (a boy, the teletubby in the pic) was forced by laa-laa (a girl, the yellow teletubby) to wear the skirt, he was the only teletubby who didn't enjoy wearing a skirt.
The only male teletubby who enjoyed wearing said skirt was Tinky-Winky, (a boy, the blue/purple teletubby) who's a confirmed femboy. (it can be found in the wiki)
So TLDR: Dispy is not a femboy, Tinky-Winky is.

This video legit felt like a fever dream. It's a combination of the bizarre shipping and... simping over kids show characters? Very few of these are actually clever and most of them are flat out disturbing. But this video *did* live up to its name, so good job.
6:51 was all I ever wanted as a kid. The scene played in my brain as I slept. Every time I saw a Wild Kratts special I would get a bit hopeful, and tbh, I still feel that small amount of hope at the back of ny brain when I see a Wild Kratts special when my small cousins are watching PBS.
