as a rough guide, what length of a lure would you use for a size 4/0 offset hook? Obviously 20cm would be too big, but what do you think, for a rough guide?
It al depends on how the jig is built. Some smal jigs can be a pian to fit to. The easyest way usually is to out the hook alongside the bait and look if it looks great or not.
You said Sweden when you mentioned darts, but to me you sound very norwegian, especially how you say "just like this" sounds exactly like my dad whenever we visit our relatives in the US haha. Thanks for the guide, my local water for perch is full of crap, as its next to a mall, and old factory now museum, and not to mention an elementary school, specifacly a steiner school so they do alot of outdoor stuff, so along the edge where the perch sit there are so many rocks, and sticks that people have chucked into the water. Finally decided i needed to learn to use ofsett instead of having to go the store every 3rd fishing trip to pick up light wire leaders (there are alot of small small pike in the lake)
@@FishingFredrik Well I heard that, you just sounded very norwegian too me, but I guess you never said a ch sound that gives away that people are swedish right away, shair, shain etc haha. Also just got offsets myself but they didnt have appropriate link heads at my shop so for now I just use a small weight on my clip, almost like how you do when you fish pike with a stinger rig haha.
No you can't do that because the plastic itself needs to be able to slide down when a bass bites it. I mean you can do it but you'll lose lots of bites by doing that. Edit: oh never-mind, I see what you're saying, yes you could put it right under there. There's no right way of doing anything. I see so many people use so many different setups. As long as it's not in the way of your plastics and hook doing it's job and you can still get a good live-looking presentation then go for it 👌

can i just put a split shot at the 2nd "L" of the hook instead and use a split ring or clip on the hook eye ?

Quallity has its price. But i dont think they are that expensive.
