Written by two Germans, Highland Cathedral is a true masterpiece and favorite piece of music.

Always thought that Highland Cathedral should be Scotland national anthem, fell in love with it after hearing it during the Hong Kong handover in 1997 and ever since it’s been my favourite patriotic song, this video just backs up how beautiful of a song it really is.

Of course, the Scots would not want a tune written by two German men as their anthem, so they will stick with The Flower of Scotland which is named of course after Heather Thistle. lol. Great combination here isn't it.

As we say in Scotland 'That was a belter'. Well done guys, tears to the eye and a lump in the throat.

Land of our fathers, we will always be
Faithful and loyal to our own country.
    In times of danger,
    we will set you free.
Lead you to glory and to vic....tory.
    ...
Hail, Caledonia, to our ancient prayer.
    In this Highland Cathedral,
    let our standards, bear.
    Joining, together,
    with one dream to share.
    God bless the people
    of this land so fair.
Gone is the past, let us start anew.
Let this hope of peace, always remain.
Spirit of Scotia, be strong and true.
Then your children will smile again.
    ...
Rise, Caledonia, let your voices ring
    In this Highland Cathedral
    of our God and King.
    Whom, joy and liberty,
    to all, will bring.
    Come; let your heart,
    with love and courage, sing.
    Whom, joy and liberty,
    to all, will bring.
    Come; let your heart,
    with love and
    cou........rage, sing.

Highland Cathedral is one of my favorite Scottish songs. As the father of a bagpiper and grandfather of two more, I find bagpipes to be stirring and the combination of organ, pipes and choir was magnificent.

This clip is part of my morning ritual. Scottish drumming, Highland pipes, fantastic pipe organ and organist and my favorite Boy Choir. Coming from MacDonald of Clan Ranald my heart is so proud especially your rendition. Thank you.
