Just imagine being a Shepard during the biblical times just taking care of sheep and waiting around for Jesus when a UPS guy comes up like "Hey I got a package for.....Bartholomewl?"
Why anyone would write shepherd as Shepard, spelled wrongly and with a capital is beyond me, I mean the bloody word is right there in front of you, dopey.
Um they weren't waiting around for Jesus, look, they had no idea what was about to transpire that night! And they weren't regular shepherds but Levitical priests who looked after the spotless sheep that were used for the sacrifices in the temple.
It is. That's why people do it. It takes on its own reality. It's its own escape, you shift quickly and apparently easily from real life role into that of a fantasy character. In the process of which it may become more and more difficult for " to differentiate between what is real and what is not." Such is theater. GREAT theater opens up the magic proscenium and when the actor becomes the character onstage an exchange of energy takes place that draws the audience inexorably in. The successful theater performance is magnified to the extent that all persons involved understand their roles, take them seriously and sheer energy and dynamism from this very process comes through to everyone involved in the production both on and off stage.......definitely could be community building
