- Struggling with hamstring flexibility? 😭
It’s one of the worlds biggest misconceptions that flexibility is all about muscle tightness 🤨
Sure, muscle tightness is absolutely a factor that needs addressing but your nervous system is SO influential for the range you have and if you’re looking for flexibility gains, learning more about the nervous system is KEY 🔑
So before you go bending over those hamstrings time after time, be sure to give your sciatic nerve a little love first with some nerve glides. This is just one example of how you can do so.
Give it a test right now and see what instant gains you can make and let me know below! 💭

Holy crap! This actually works!!! You are giving me lots of hope. I thought I would never regain stretch in my hamstrings, when it turns out I'm just fighting nerve pain.
Same!!!🎉
This really helps me isolate the feeling of my hamstrings stretching at their knee attachment point, and after doing a round of this my legs feel warm and looser. Will absolutely be adding to my mobility routine!
Finally somebody following science! 👏
I can't even get over 90° with my legs straight 😅
Yeah man just started doing mma and when I tested my flexibility I was shocked that sitting at a 90 degree angle hurt me so much
@@applesaus395I wanna start MMA. How did u find a good gym?
Do some leg lifts. When youre standing up raise the leg a little bit straight in front of you with the toe pointing towards the ceiling and just go as far as you can. AS the front of the leg gets stronger you can push down on the thigh and push upwards...strengthening the front of the leg seems to help the back of the leg stretch ..i did a lot to stretch my hams and it never worked till i started strengthening the opposite way. So instead of pulling the leg to stretch the back pushing against the leg from the front and pushing upwards if that makes sense.
@@applesaus395keep your knees loose and focus on the bskcck strength first. When the back is stronger and more flexible the legs can relax better. Thata what ive found anyway that stretching one thing is more about strengthening the opposite thing.
@@Padraigp yeah. I think the issue now is more hip flexibility. For some kicks/drills my hips collapse basically. Thanks for the advice!
This literally made inches of difference!! Thank you!!!
OMG THIS WORKED 😮 my hamstrings have been ridiculously tight and I’ve been worried about my other lifts being affected by it (or body hurt from them). THANK YOU!!
I wish I could save this! Why won't youtube let me save this like regular videos?... Great advice!!
Save it to your reminders
yes there is also ulnar nerve flossing for ulnar nerve intrapment
If you go to your history and click on the three dots, you could save it to a playlist
Like it. Then you can open liked videos in the library.
@@03-yashanand25 Thanks for the tip, I'll try that
You trying to “do the wave” aka breakdance was really cute and unexpected
first time i see a fitness content creator talking about nerve glides!!! you’re a good one
This is my favorite Yoga/Stretching/Flexibility channel on YT. Best advice, best presentation! 👍
This woman has the best no nonsense straight to the point effective tips....outstanding
@GonzotehGreat....agreed ! I started doing the " only 3 stretches you need" from her video.
At 65 yoa I can't believe the flexibility it has given me
This gave me so much relief from the tight hamstrings I’ve been having these past two days!
Wow this is the best tip ever!!!!! If only I was taught this years ago 😢😅❤❤❤❤🙏🏾
Niice update. I followed your nerve glide video recommended at the end of your "the only 3 stretches" video. But will use this now.
This stretch and techinique are awesome!!! Thank you so much. I thought I tweaked my knee but after doing this the tightness disappeared, it must have been my hamstring causing the pain and stiffness.
Are there nerve glide exercises for other bodyparts or even the whole body?
I like the arm nerve glides, look up ulnar/radial/medium nerve glides. Be careful with nerve glides...they aren't stretches, nerves are very sensitive...never hold it like a stretch, keep moving
Liv, many thanks, it's very motivating ❤
thank you
THIS is why I subscribed. Amazing! Thank you!
Wow… Amazing… thank you!
Will the nerves relax overtime by doing consistent nerve glides, like stretching a muscle?
Not so much relax but they will glide more easily meaning you won't feel them stretch before your muscles do! Nerves are not supposed to stretch, contract or relax- they are only meant to glide through. Once you do these nerve glides before you stretch they will never hinder your flexibility progress again :) You do have to keep this up overtime though.
I remember you did a video about this and it’s been a great help, so thank you
Thank you, so timely!
I was focused (lost in yoga mind nirvana) in Tuesday’s class and can still feel stretched muscles (Thursday) and I have a strong flow class tonight. I want to look after myself.
I been doing this everyday like two weeks along with other stretches I love it making great progress
Best technique ever searched....thank u❤
Thank you 💕
Just when I need this! Thank u❤
I appreciate this video entitled Nerve Glide on how to properly and gently stretch hamstrings. I'm interested I. More gene stretching movements... can't afford to join monthly right now. But I appreciate your work
Love your channel!!!
It worked!!!! Thanks!
Perfect timing! ^^ Thank you for your essential content. I feel like a lot of people otherwise miss out on a lot of those little steps necessary to build flexibility. (Looks in the mirror)
Wonderful advice that works. Thanks!
This is great. I'm in love with it
This actually works
Awesome content! Where's the original video for this?
Didn't know I needed this until today. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! My hamstring were tight from working at my desk most of the day. This helped alot!
Wow i do this, didn't realize it was a good technique
i saw a video abt it on your channel some time ago. it's a really great "exercise", helps so much. thank you~!
Wow! That really works!
Omg tysm new subbie 😊❤️

So smooth and lovely ❤
I love nerve gliding exercises
Great tip and great music. Where can I find it? What’s the name?
It’s called Wait A Minute by WILLOW
Eh. Or you can do any other kind of hammy warm up. Bodyweight deadlifts for example.
Thank you so much, you very help me
Very good
post more stuff for tight hamstring. can't do perfect forward bends.
Perfect workout ❤
Thank you
😮it worked!
clever girl ty for the tip
😇
thanks this is helps
Love this.. ❤❤❤ 🙏
Woohoo Someone knows about nerve flossing! I get every client to do that before stretching their calves or hammies
Gracias
How can I nerve glide for the straddle/middle split?
Ty sm I was like pls help and this is the only one that did
Best song ever. Willow is too dope
Wait I'm trying it right now
It does work omg 😯❤
Omg this actually works
I gave it a try and my feet feel amazing now 😊
When my hammies are tight i always do a press against my shin forwards instead ans that seems to work better than any stretching ever did
When should we incorporate stretching? Do we do these until there is no tightness and then start stretching our hamstrings? Thank you
helpful
Mild Sensation. MILD!
life is way easier when you listen to professionals
It works yaarr❤
Goodd 🎉
OMG that's not as easy as it looks. Thanks anyway I'll have to make it a routine
Relax, take deep breaths and try to relax the muscles.
Song name?
Willow - wait a minute
how long before I see any benefits in this? I don't see any difference in a week, but I guess it may take a while as I've never done these before and I've had 40 years of rock solid hammies!
Pulled my hammy a few days ago, is this good for rehab of the hamstrings?
How do i get my closed leg back towards my ear like that if its too tight?
It's work
I can’t not stretch my leg that close to my by body 😢
I wish I could save reels on TH-cam
You can save a YT "short video" like normal long videos to playlist after re-opening from view history in app. Or in PC/browser after clicking on the time stamp of any comment e.g. (besides other methods)
@@xcast1 I usually share the links to my notepad lol
I send to email
This worked miraculously for my right leg 1 time. Then when I lifted up both legs, my left leg which still tight is shorter then my right leg😂. I do it few more times for my left leg and it becomes closer and equal length when I raise both of them up. I guess my left leg need a few more release haha
I feel like its a lot more easier to do leg exercise with your loose hamstring
This did nothing for my tight hamstrings. I don't think they're ever getting loose.
My leg striaght is like a ~70° angle
Super
I love all of your stuff! Also-WHAT SONG IS THIS?! xx
same
Song is Wait a minute! From Willow
@@Saraeid92 Thank you! Yay! 🤗
Good
I follow this method but it doesn’t work for me:((( my leg won’t move even a bit further
Then I suppose at this point, the muscle actually is the limiting factor for range. Still warm up though!
@@calebweber967 You mean my muscles can be too weak to stretch? I’ve been doing intensive weigh training 4-5 times per week for almost 2 years now so I wouldn’t expect it to be an issue 😅 but maybe you’re right? The other thing is I might be pushing myself too far sometimes when it comes to stretching, since I’ve never been a flexible person. In fact when I was a child I dreamed of being a gymnast, but I always found myself giving up on stretching as I saw other kids being naturally flexible, learning how to do the splits in two weeks while I couldn’t even touch the ground 😢 so this year I made a plan on finally achieving my splits and I managed to become a little more flexible than I was before, but recently I feel like I hit a plateau, there’s no way I can go deeper in my splits. So I’m wondering if I’m overstretching or I’ve just reached my limit:(
@@jiata4525 No, you're definitely strong enough to stretch, as that isn't a huge factor. I'm saying that your muscle flexibility is probably the biggest cause of your inflexibility. How long have you been stretching currently? And regarding your splits rn, are you trying side or front splits, and how deep are you rn?
@@calebweber967 I’ve been stretching regularly since October last year. I’m trying to get my front splits and currently my stretching routine looks like this: 4-5 days days per week I do Anna mcnulty 15 min stretching for front splits after my weight training and on my rest days I usually do some yoga/pilates or mobility training. I’m thinking about changing my stretching routine since I don’t find it very effective so far, but I’m not sure how should I change it. As for my front splits, it’s hard for me to say how deep I can go rn, I definitely need 2-3 pillows under my hips that’s the farthest I can go
@@jiata4525 the full body routine? And how much progress have you seen in these 5 months?
Holy sh*t can't believe this worked lol
❤❤❤
I don’t know why, but I didn’t get more flexible doing this
I have Ehlers Danlos and it hurts yet I don't have issues being able to go straight into full on stretches I just struggle to maintain them. If I stretch long enough I can get into some awkward positions but I can get stuck, what have I done wrong?
But Van Damme shown us to use ropes and pulleys to force the stretch 😊
My flexibility is terrible tbh, I used to be able to do the splits, put my chin to my knees etc, 30 years later I can barely put my leg 90deg straight out without my hamstrings screaming, I will give this a go when I finish work today.
Yea you do that after you warm up, do this, and have stretched consistently for a while.
But what should i do whit the pain? I can't strech it because it hurts like hell.
With any muscle, if it’s too tight stretching won’t even work. You’re going to have to massage that out and break up the fascia. Massage guns, heat and ice are your friends. THEN work on stretching and strengthening and working on your balance so your brain relearns how to activate the appropriate muscles for each movement. Otherwise you’ll just tighten back up
Hi, i hope you're well. i want to ask, my hamstring is not flexible enough. I do yoga almost everyday for three months, but not flexible. Could it be because I do yoga after waking up in the morning? Please help me for this situation. Sincerly love.
I was in the same position as you, I did yoga for a long time (about 2 years) and I only got minimal hamstring flexibility. I saw a huge improvement when I shifted to mobility and strength training though
@@LeeKnowsCatss Thanks for your comment. But strength training? I am only fifty kilos. Which muscles should i train first? And what do you think about “Yoga Down Dog” app? Is it usefull?
Doesn't work for me?
