- So...Today was a fun day. We took Maggie to a park to meet up with her favorite hooman ever... Her Grandpa. It was a little chaotic but she just melts my heart when she sees Him. Hope this made your day!
I am a senior living in Saskatchewan in a senior apartment complex and they won’t allow us to have a pet So we don’t get to experience the love that a pet brings. We just experience loneliness at night when we go home to an empty house. It’s enough to make a person cry. The government claims to care about us seniors but it’s just lip service. There are so many shelter animals waiting to be loved and so many seniors waiting to give love. It’s a crying shame
a lot of those places see pets as extra liabilities...its sad

Does no one bring in a pet therapist? If you can’t have you own pet, being with someone else’s is the next best thing. My sister’s dogs have always been therapists. her biggest boy (Bernese Mountain dog) was a big hit at the nursing home. That makes me so sad and if I lived near you I would sneak in a quiet kitty to give you a snuggle. ❤
Aww can you move to somewhere that you can have pets it's a basic human right.

My golden retriever loved the water. I noticed Maggie does too! I miss my Sandi boy, he’s waiting for us in heaven.
A golden retriever rescue has a Senior dog/Senior human program that is a win/win for all parties. A senior golden is just happy being petted, taking naps, a slow walk and eating. Matching up a senior person or couple to a senior golden give them a sense of purpose. They have to get up to let the dog out, put out food and water and walk them. The best thing is they both get unconditional love!

I would agree that golden retrievers are really special dogs. They’re so into their humans. My golden reminded me every morning that I can wake up with enthusiasm in greeting the day. Just so happy for another beautiful day, and if I could keep that attitude. my dog had, it would be a good life.

I’m grandma to my daughter’s Great Pyrenees/Yellow Lab mix. I walk in the door and he goes crazy. The only “grandchild” I’ll ever have so I make the most of it. I love him to bits.

This brought a tear to my eye. Many years ago my husband brought home a tiny, tiny puppy. She was a Yorkie / Pomeranian mix. She fit in a shoebox. My mother-in-law named her CoCo. She turned into the most beautiful mutt you’ll ever see. She was a blonde Yorkie. We loved spoiling her, she was a very funny girl.
As she settled into our life, she began recognizing certain words. My husbands family lived on a farm, she would bark when we’d ask her if she wanted to visit grampa & gramma’s farm. When we arrived, she’d always run into see her grampa sitting in his recliner to jump up and kiss him.
When it was time to visit my folks it was a little different. My folks belonged to a yacht club. We’d ask CoCo “who wants to go to gramma & grampa’s boat”. She started barking and spinning, and peeing all at once. She’d run out to the car and wait to go, barking the whole time. When we arrived at their club, the security at the gate said hello to her, and they always had a treat for her. When we parked, she wanted “OUT” now, now now! She would run down the dock and jump as high as she could, always landing on the deck. She’d run in to she my mom who was in the galley preparing food for the day. Gramma always had a treat for her. When my dad would pilot the boat out to the lake, CoCo always sat on his lap on the fly bridge, barking at everyone to “get outta the way! Grampa’s takin me for a ride!”. And whenever my husband and I spent the night on the boat by ourselves, CoCo could spend all night sitting on the rear deck on her chair in her blankie.
We lost her 16 years ago, we still miss her. She was one of a kind.

He'd come watch her as a puppy when I was at work and my fiance had dialysis, they've always had a special bond.

My dog loved my dad, blue passed away at age 17. I had him cremated. Dad passed away a few years later. I buried my beloved dog with my dad❤ now there always together. ❤

No question that this pupper "senses" the relationship between his owner and their mother.....very possibly via smell...and revels in that relationship. The pupper gets to understand her place in world.

I once had a golden retriever and I love watching these short videos that future golden retrievers. They are really special animals such loyal loving dogs.
Such a beautiful dog loves her grandpa she probably senses your his son I get that with my dog friends and family that come visit she knows their a part of my unit sending warm vibes from Ireland ✨🕊️☘️
When I was a kid we had a golden who got loose while an elderly neighbor was out for a walk (I think had a walker). My folks were nearby when it happened. We watched in fear as our dog ran up to the neighbor. We were terrified she’d jump on him, cause him to fall and break a hip. But instead she did like this dog and proceeded to lie down and roll on her back for a belly rub. We were so relieved our dog had the golden instinct to be friendly but gentle.
