Serious fun times, this song said it all , you gotta good job, you got money in your pocket, nice clothes, good times at the club on a Friday night with all your peeps, jammin grooves , dancing, drinks, phone numbers, and the best part about it, after the jamming grooves , they put on a slow jam, so you could get to know her a little better, young people don’t slow dance these days . Teddy Riley produced this song. He was a member of the group Guy, and should add them to your list. I would start with either I Wanna Get With You, or Do Me Right. Teddy also wrote and produced songs for many other artists including Johnny Gill, Bobby Brown, Blackstreet, and even Michael Jackson.

my parents and i were on the road moving from Los Angeles to Philadelphia when this song hit. it hit BIG. New Jack Swing music exploded onto the radio waves in the summer of 1988 and this song was one of the first. i was dancing in the front cabin of our U-Haul truck (with my mom's arm in front of me). i couldn't sit down. i was witness to the next major movement in music, and i knew it. New Jack Swing had arrived and it was incredible.

We had a DJ who would play all this dance music and punk rock while they shopped. After work we would hit all the Disco Clubs in Hollywood in my 86 Trans Am. God! how I missed those days. Yo, it wasn't even just at dance clubs. They played this song at my school's dances. We'd all be trying to out dance each other like we were from "White Chicks", even though this was back in the late 80s during my middle school years, so it was way before that movie😄. This was a jam then, still is though. I think this is one of those songs that has staying power because it's still relevant for people who want to party. 😎👍

@@rhondaatkins1776 Correct! I don't get how that hasn't happened yet. Johnny Kemp - late 80s R&B ... made me think of it. Again. @RobertSmith-js2kz Idk. Maybe they get so many requests from so many genres that they haven't gotten to him yet. But you're right. Bobby was BIG BIG. Sometimes, their lack of knowledge of what are considered classics is odd to me.

@@rhondaatkins1776 Facts. Some of the choices lately are are a little ... i dunno. I know their whole thing is going in COLD, basically throwing a dart at the board, but they're at the point now where a lot of the obvious "hits" have been run through. I would love to be a consultant / producer, whatever you want to call it. They need some guidance right about now. And I LOVE what they do. Unlike a lot of these channels, these two have really gone all in and have legit knowledge and real conversations about the music. It's fun to watch. But they need a rudder to steer the ship. Just my opinion. Coming from a place of respect.
