Which Boolean is your favourite Boolean? Also Boolean is the best word ever!

The best part of the Boolean tools is the compound feature.

Super easy explanation! I've always struggled a bit with these tools but your video has really cleared it up - thank you!

These videos have started appearing for me, i find them very good for affinity. Also recommend Robin Whalley. I've been learning a lot from these two.

over the years I've created some great shapes, without knowing what I was doing, thank you

Yes, I DID think that Xor would delete the center triangle. Divide is fun! You made it all quick and easy to understand. Thanks! P.S. I searched Xor but my brain became more tangled the more that I read. All that I'm left with is that it's an operation but we know that don't we? 😊

XOR means 'Exclusive OR'. It is a bitwise operator (developers will understand)
    1 xor 1 = 0
    1 xor 0 = 1
    0 xor 1 = 1
    0 xor 0 = 0
I imagine it inspects 2 layers and, where there is something on either layer, but NOT on both layers, it will keep that section.
This is slightly different to OR (where 1 or 1 = 1) which would keep sections that are on either layer AND on both layers as well. So I think 'Add' could have been called 'OR'.

Ahhhh that makes sense! Thank you for the explanation 👍🏽

Xor takes me back to GCSE electronics with boolean logic gates. As far as I recall, it was the gate that gave you options that you couldn't get with and, or and not gates.

    cool.

Thank you, because no amount of experimenting could make me understand them.
Edit: don't apply boolean tools when you have the fill of the object transparent.

I tried converting text to curves, and then tried adding but it didn’t work :(. Do you know how I can flatten text layers into one?

    • @BrownBearProductions

You can do this 2 ways. Either select the text and simply his "Add" on the Boolean tools and it will flatten into one curve layer (you may have to re-colour it though) or convert it to curves, then select all the letters in the layer panel and his "Add" both achieve the same result but the first one is faster 👍🏽
