  • a look at one of my favorite multi-tools the gerber multiplier is pretty hard to beat for me. it has a good selection of tools, is pretty tough, has a great balance of tightness in the build for smoothness and long life, and just plain works. caltoncutlery.com

Carried and used regularly whilst I was at work, prior to retirement

Carried one for years on my duty belt as a LEO. Served very well. Replaced towards end of that career with LM Wave, also good and didn’t pinch my palm as you demonstrated with the Gerber. Another good review- long term, experienced insight.

i could really see wearing one as an LEO, all the different stuff yall find yourselves in, it would come in handy and earn its weight on those duty belts which are already pretty full.

I carried my "Mr. Pinchy" on my duty belt for most of my career as well. I still have it.

Got one at antique shop for 29 bucks. It's the vintage version with the Allen key bolts. It had a bit of rust on plier head. I unscrewed the 4 bolts and popped out the push buttons.
Took head off and used polish wheel to clean it up. And the rest of the handle. Put it back together. Put Gun Oil on ALL the moving parts.
Is a fuckin Champ. And it has the velcro u.s.a. case lol.(soaked in oxi clean and is "brand new". Lol)

Thank you Joe I always enjoy your videos I rewatch then every night I couldn't live without my victorinox swisstool spirit x..they don't have the flick open but for the size weight and capability it's hard to beat.. handles make it impossible to get pinched

lifetime warranty on those and you can send them in and they will put fresh tools in them at no cost and no questions asked.

You perhaps could've mentioned the lifetime warranty on the Gerber multi-pliers. My first pair was worn out and I sent them to Gerber, and they sent me a new pair. Wish I'd kept them, b/c they were a Father's Day present.
My 2nd pair actually saved me from serious harm because I always wore them in a pouch on my right hip, (a story for another post), but instead of sending those to Gerber for repairs, I retired that pair & bought another new set. The newest set came with replaceable triangular carbide cutting bits for wire cutting, and a replacement set of carbides. (Now I have to find them!)

My issue with this multi-tool is that the handles close together when the pliers are in use. I have pinched my fingers badly because of that. Otherwise, they are nice.

from what I remember they were just called gerber multipliers when I got them. i picked up a new pair to take a look at and it is labeled mp400 and is a little smaller than mine, and they have a mp600 that is a little larger
