Both good multitools and have their uses, I've had nothing but leatherman multitools and I've experienced the flex in the needlenose plier heads on a few different models. And if you go too far with them you'll either snap the tip off the needlenose, or you'll bend something in the leatherman frame causing all sorts of opening and closing issues down the road. Just my personal experience with them, still love my surge, and I'll enjoy the gerber as well.

Another thing: if you have to unscrew an hexagonal bolt or nut only from the upper side specially in close spaces like a car, the Bluntnose can doit (if the open size mouth reach the size). With pliers you need a lot lot lot of force to secure the bolt and they finally end loosing. But, if you need to pull something or pick small things, like the stem from a tap, a spring from a piece, or a pin, the pliers are the best. IMO I like the pliers in a multitool, and a regular bluntnose for hard work, in case the bluntnose brokes I just buy a new one

Думаю , что многим хочется большего от Leatherman , мне бы хотелось что бы плоскогубцы были кованые (термоштамповка как у дисков для колёс). Обычные советские плоскогубцы-пасотижи покрепче будут. При очень большой нагрузки они деформируются , а не лопаются
@@TheEnd-op2bv Соглашусь с Вами , что мультитул это не волшебная палочка и нужно понимать что и как применять. Но Leatherman - это Мерседес среди мультитулы , поэтому к нему и отношение другое. То что его постоянно кастомизируют - это не показывает , что Leathernam остановился в развитии. Есть новые модели , есть хорошее качество , но лет через 5-7 китайцы могут обогнать и перегнать. Похоже что в Leatherman менеджеры берут верх над инженерами :-(

Убрали биту для часовой отвёртки , а ни чего лучше шлицевых отвёрток не нашли. Можно было шкуродёр и открывалку консервных банок поставить. У MUT хорошая идея с отверстием на губках пасотиж , но её в другие мультитулы не двигают..
Surge Black. Best MT on the planet. Lets face it, the Surge could have easily done that aswell if you had hust grabbed it further in to avoid the flex ;) I like the Gerbers aswell but the carbide cutters ruin them for me. Way too brittle.
No, the nail taken in another place, far from the end of the pliers, would also have bent the pliers. You must wisely accept reality as it stands. I add that it is sometimes not possible to carry out this operation for lack of space. Where you are right about the Gerber cable cutter inserts (MP600 / Center Drive / MP800/ Strata), they are deplorable.
@@diezelle57 See the truth? I have litterarily bent hundreds of galvanized nails into loops with the surge and ST-300 while putting up fences. You dont even have to grab the nail just put it in plier head and twist it. It will not flex.

I like the linesman style of pliers, its a stronger construction as you demonstrate and you generally get a better grip on things than with a needle nose because of the larger surface area. For example its much easier to hold on to a nut or to pull a nail out by the head with these than with your average mt.. Shame they had to ruin them with the cutters. It makes little sense to built something this beefy with such brittle cutters.

Gerbers blunt nose pliers are legit
the needle nose can be used to open electrical panels lock but as pliers, blunt are better overall.
I do that all the time with mine
