Is there an iac valve on these trucks? From what I read it’s on the throttle body but I am not seeing it anywhere near it
Thanks for you video. I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 5.3L and it’s doing exactly what you’re describing. As I slow down to a stop it feels like a down shift and as I accelerate from a stop it jerks hard as if I floored the pedal. I thought it was the transmission then thought maybe electrical issue. I ran my scanner and it’s a random misfire with a blinking CEL which is also giving me an emission code. I changed spark plugs and wired, swapped coils and it’s still a random misfire. Could it be anything else before I jump to changing the throttle body?

@@jessemendoza2991 had a similar issue to what was described and in my case it was the throttle body. Hope that might help.
What are those two Tubes with the gray clips you’re taking off? I have engine oil in mine and don’t know if that’s supposed to be like that, going on my second throttle body in 3 minths
Pretty sure they’re evap lines. Oil isn’t usually (or ever, as far as I know) put through those types of plastic lines.
What if there is oil on the one of the grey clips you push up to remove it .. the right side had oil as I removed it and the left side doesn’t
is this common to replace whenever my rpm is at a lower rpm than usual? because my 2017 sierra at 45 mph speed the gauge moves up and down. I would like to know!!

Great tutorial video, you guys are they only people to go in-depth about throttle replacement and cleaning procedures, and reprogramming the (ECM), or re-learn the new idle. I cleaned a TB on a 2008 Chevy Tahoe cause of the engine code, and I finally had to see a mechanic top slap one of those 5-k computers to get the idle correct, cost me $85.00. My question is how successful is the manual re-learn procedure on my 2015 Silverado, if I clean the TB, Would I have to repeat what I did for the 08 Tahoe? Please reply, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.

Should there be a slight space between the throttle body and manifold? I replaced mine and it doesn’t meet flush. Is this normal?
What if I did move the blade back and forth slowly a couple time to make sure I cleaned it well ? Should I be worried that I broke it or messed it up ?

Can not find the throttle body on the site
I have reduced engine power due to code P2101 it says about throttle control. Not sure if its the sensor or throttle body itself have issues or wiring
What plugs did he unplug?
Can someone help me I found oil on those hose clips he took off is that bad ?
So what you can’t just replace the sensors you have to buy a whole new throttle body?
Im still at a high idle. what do you mean by Clear the code again?
+Jim OKeefe After installation or cleaning of the throttle body, you will need to do an idle relearn. This can be done by using a scan tool and clearing the codes or doing it manually. If the code is still on after doing this, you will then need to go through the process shown to clear it again.

I have pushed open hundreds of throttle body blades / butterfly's open and cleaned everything with carb cleaner or Sea foam and never had problems. Why would you tell people to not take cleaner and clean it out ? I would say don't submerge it in cleaner or clean it in a parts washer, but it's perfectly safe to clean it, besides carb or throttle body cleaner evaporates fast.

Newer/“smarter” vehicles are more sensitive to touching the butterfly. Assuming cheap plastic gears inside like the everything else made now.

Changed mine but now when in park it will idle high to 2000 RPM then it will drop
Thanks for the video. I did not disconnect the battery when I took off the TB for cleaning as it was so dirty that I could see the accumulation going beyond the TB and went I put it back on is giving me hissy fits with the idle. Engine light is on. Did the relearn procedure. Checked for leaks and all. Could this be the cause? You mentioned that the electronics are very sensitive. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Did you ever fix this problem ? I’m in the middle of doing mine. And did the same thing. I didn’t disconnect battery before removing TB , but I noticed before I turned the truck back on and disconnected battery before I put the TB back on and turned the truck on. I’m I good ?
So you took off the throttle body and then just put it back on? For what?

What a dumb video. You didn't show us a darn thing but to pull a throttle body and put the throttle body back in place.

I have a 2014 Silverado I cleaned the throttle body out. Did move butterfly a couple times to make sure I cleaned it well. Now truck idle goes up and down in park? I already tried disconnecting battery, doing the relearn procedure but still does the same. Any help I’d appreciate it

I did that to mine and it still revs up high
Did it ever level out? If so how long did it take?
Do I need to torque it ? I just have a wrench I can’t just tighten it till it’s tight ?
