    I've owned my 2008 4Runner for 15 years and have had 0 problems. All I have done is change fluids and tires. It has been the most reliable, comfortable, and enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. I even get 20.1 mpg in town in the warm season. Everything still works and looks like new, amazing. I think it will continue for another 15 years.

      it is a SR5 RWD with 17" All weather tires tires (simpler and lighter) and I don't use it for off road, and have a light foot on the gas. @@CeeT-wg3hz

    Love my 05 SR 5 4 runner. By far the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Bought it new, still driving it daily. Runs great, rides great, handles great, looks great. My recommendation If you’re looking for a great used vehicle a 4th gen 4 runner shouldn’t be overlooked.

      Bought a 2005 SR5 brand new too. Passed 300K miles last month and still running strong. Also my daily driver. The only thing I could ever complain about is the crappy MPG. Had bad gas mileage before and now I've added more weight. Full RCI skids, CBI rock sliders, Victory Blitz bumper, Prinsu roof rack, Hi Lift jack, Waterport Weekender and complete Rago molle panels inside. Plus a few more extras, Smittybuilt winch, Baja Designs bumper light bar, ditch lights and roof light bar, EMU coils, Bilstein 5100's, TRD rims. Best vehicle I've owned too!

    My 2006 4runner is nearly identical to yours, less the lift. Same miles, but charcoal grey color. I picked it up 2018 when I was looking for a CRV. Glad I did! My issue with it are, Mid-link in steering control seized. And more recently, both front wheel bearing went at the same time. My rear hatch contracted cancer for road salt, and I was able to find a same color replacement at a salvage yard. I would like to lift it, but my disabled wife would not be able to get in it so, until I get a second vehicle, it will remain. Did after market headlights to replace foggy old ones. Recently been playing with LED light replacements. I'll do a video of mine, and post to my channel.

      This is the SR5. For the 4th gens the SR5 was the base model then you could also get the SportEdition which was a step above the SR5 depending on how it was optioned out, and above that, the Limited. I’ve got a fully loaded Sport Edition V8 with everything but the leather seats. The differences between the trims really all depends on what you can find and how they were optioned out from the factory. You could get leather seats on every trim level but for the limited they came standard. Color matched door handles and trim was also standard for the Sport and Limited but I’ve seen some SR5’s with it. I could go on and on, but if you do your research you will find out much more.

    We now have 3 4Runners: a 2017 SR5, a 2009 V6 Limited, and a 2003 V8 Limited. All are 4wd. As time has gone by, I have to say I like the 2009 the best. It does not compete with the V8 for sound, but in every other way it's a better mousetrap. It handles more deftly (I assume partially because you can elect 2wd mode, and partially because it's ~300 lbs lighter up front), it gets better mileage, oil changes don't entail removing the skid plate, it doesn't crack exhaust manifolds and there's no need to replace a timing belt. The VVT V6 delivers almost as much oomph as the non-VVT V8. The 2017, while very good too, just isn't as fun to drive. It's really hard to say why you kind of fall in love with certain cars and not others, but I've never felt too bonded with the '17.

      Ive heard similar things from other Multi-4Runner owners as well! The 4th Gen V6's have a great balance to them. Taking into consideration weight, gas mileage, maintenance, power, capability, etc!

      @@christians.cars98 Yup there is. And it's called emissions lol. The V6 is a great engine I can't knock it. But the 4.7l V8 is the best engine Toyota ever made. And if it's the best engine Toyota has made, it's the best engine ever made lol. Just squeaking out that Toyota 2.7l 4cyl that you find in the tacomas. Then this V6 comes in third in reliability. I'd personally disagree. You can find good deals on them or negotiate a deal. I'd MUCH rather have a car that'll work and last with very very little problems and keep its value like no other car in its class. You might pay more, but you know it'll actually work and last as well as it'll hold its value

    • @carlpolych736
      @carlpolych736 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christians.cars98 There's a lot of truth in what you say and I agree you get what you pay for to an extent. If you compare the two vehicles however for reliability and longevity in the important categories like powertrain there's virtually no difference in the two even with high mileage. Now is the Toyota a nicer vehicle in terms of bells and whistles, sure but overall not a chance I'd throw my money down that road.

But I'd still rather have the Toyota which I know is over built and extremely reliable. It's not uncommon for people to have over 300k, 500k, even 650k on stock motor and trans 4Runners! The Toyota SUV's are really dominating the off-road SUV market, and I hope Nissan brings back the Xterra!
