    I see you printed both the razor and scraper from the onboard library in the Bambu printer
    there is also tool you can print from the same library called "Bambu labs sticker applicator"
    that helps you align the cool plate and the sticker
    it has 2 pegs that fit into the 2 hole on the cool plate and the sticker and fits perfect.
    once you have it aligned you can use the tool to smooth the sticker onto the plate also
    I think there's 2 one to print solid color and one to print in 2 colors with the Bambu logo on it.

      At the time of this video Bambu did not have any support on there site on how to replace the sticker. I thought at that time it would be good to show this in a video. Early adoption in the kickstarter but now I know and have printed this tool,. I also just printed the new Spools that are in the list for the Bambu Lab filament,.

    I think we can also use a BuildTak sticker on the Bambu plate and it is installed in the same way. It's good for all temperatures and supposedly doesn't need a glue stick for easy print removal after printing. I'm 53 years old and who would've guessed I would need to lookup instructions to install stickers? Ha! But it really was a helpful video, thank you.👍

    Thanks for making a video for this. This is a great strategy for avoiding bubbles. I have not yet replaced my first plate sticker but yesterday I did notice some bubbles on mine, so I need to do it. My concern however is, I have not actually printed a whole lot on this printer, and I already need to replace the sticker. This may not be sustainable. Other than that, this printer is truly ahead of its time.

      I found the kind of material matters, I did not have an issue with the sticker until I printed with Carbon Fiber at 100C for the bed. I do see what you are saying as my printer is not that used or old.

    Thanks. This tape process is a bit of a PITA...is there anyway to avoid having to do it? a Special plate I can buy, and/or special care I can take to avoid damaging a sticker, etc?

    • @kenstechlab
      @kenstechlab  ปีที่แล้ว

      I always try and take care of the plate, with that said, Using glue or just printing in the same spot can damage this sheet, since its not a flex plate but a plastic sheet it will be more easily damaged. If you change out to a spring steel sheet the lidar will not work anymore to test the 1st layer of your print so it would be better to get used to replacing this sticker.. I hope this video helped in the process!

    This is a neat way to apply that sticker. So I'm guessing for bamboo we will go through this a lot. How soon did you have to replace this sheet on your build plate?

    • @kenstechlab
      @kenstechlab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this replacement was about 1 month but I was washing the flex cool plate with hot water and sope, I think this caused bubbles to start and destroyed the sticker.

      @JohnyPatrick ปีที่แล้ว

  • @dronelabitaly
    @dronelabitaly ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Before mounting the new sticker, try to save the old one, glue the old one again, or if you do not want to unglue and glue again, try putting the plate in engineering mode and raise the temperature to 260 degrees for 15 minutes. The bubbles should disappear.

      @@kenstechlab I use the tool from the internal memory and it’s easy. Was a two minutes job without any bubbles or else. I also heat the bed to 100*C and put the sheet, with the sticker facing to the heat bed, inside and switch off the printer and let it there settling over night. It helped also with the bubbles from the factory applied sticker a little bit.

    Ideally when using a razor to remove the sheet from the plate, you want to use it in "fail safe mode" i.e. holding it so if it slips, it does not go straightforward into your other hand, makes it a little harder to get into that position because you need to push the other side of the plate against something replacing the function of what your other hand was doing. If you used an adjacent edge, you could have stood it on end on the desk to get the perfect alignment and then tape the other edge still sticking up. Also, you touched the plate in a bunch of places with your hands depositing OIL after you IPAed it. Suggest wearing gloves after IPA.

    • @kenstechlab
