Thanks for the vid, it really helped me... BUT, I have tried a few different TPU brands in my P1P with no AMS and many brands would not even feed through the feed gears or hot end.. they just appeared to get tangled round the feed gears, which was a right royal pain in the rear to get access to and unclog. indeed I ended up just buying a new hot end as even after clearing the clog in the gears I could not get any other material to feed through the hot end. I did alter the feed spring too to no joy..... Eyeron is the only non bambu brand I have actually been able to feed through the Bambu lab P1P... PS I usually use Overture TPU on my other printers, ( Elegoo Neptune 2s) just fine... Any thought or advise?

    Hello.
I have 1 question about Bambu Studios - maybe you will be able to help me.
I was trying to add a simple, plain circle to Bambu Studios to print a coin but in bugger size (10cm diameter). And when I upload the .svg file to Slicer I can see that the edge of the coin is not fully rounded - you can see the small walls that make up the circle. I tried uploading few different circle .svg files that are 100% circles and in Bambiu Slicer the walls & small edges appear.
The question is: Is this normal that the Slicer shows these walls and not fully plain edge of the circle - but it will print it as a plain circle? Or should I do some editing within the slicer to make it disappear? Sorry to ask, my printer will come in a month from now and Im already trying to get some first models done and learn some about Bambu Slicer.
Thank you in advance and Happy New Year! :)

You REALLY need to use PTF Tube on to allow for the best path for the TPU.. ask me how I know... I had issues with Y adapter also, the inside had a LIP that kept catching the filament. Watching to see what you did.

So I’m a bit too afraid to use it without first buying an active drybox for the spool - my filament is stored in a dryboxthat’s a big enclosed industrial cabinet and I might consider drilling a hole in it though.

I've tried to simply remove the PTFE tube and leave the AMS attached but in the BambuStudio it gave me the run around until I unplugged it. I'm not sure if there was a setting I missed but I hope to figure it out because that is an annoying part.

I was expecting to be able to use it with the print option but that only supports the AMS materials... Why isn't color 0 the filament on the aux hub hanger?

  • @dwuk99

I accept that the AMS doesn't support TPU. Haven't tried any non AMS filaments yet so was interesting to see how it is done. Not sure you needed to have a spare AMS slot that is set as TPU as I think you can just add a 5th channel.
What however I am wondering is whether it would be feasible to automate the manual TPU feeding. What I was thinking of was something like a single MMU2 type channel that can push the filament in and then move out of the way. Automation would I guess have to be via Bambu Studio I suppose due to the closed nature of the firmware.
I guess it might work out better though to somehow just re-engineer one of the AMS channels - as this would allow mixed TPU/other material prints.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yea you can use a 5th slot. I just used the empty one I had but I should have explained that better.
On the automation this is something I am working on 😉

@@c0mputer interesting - I wonder if that is a recent change or has always been the case. Will get some and try it. Ps/ Managed to get a mixed AMS/Non AMS print to work too - with a bit of manual intervention at each Non AMS change, and having to put a dummy filament i to the AMS - so i think there is a good prospect of multi material including TPU prints being possible with the BL printers, even for non AMS compatible filaments.

TPU 95A should be fine at a fairly slow speed, more flexible stuff will likely be more problematic? I have flexible 65a, 85a and 85a, filaments & for the very soft stuff the extruder tensioner will need to be relaxed as in my experience the softer filaments will just get chewed up in the gears otherwise. I would also not fancy trying to push very flexible filament into/aling the bowden tube, its likely to be hard work.

The maximum print speed is defined by the "Max volumetric Speed" in the filament settings.
The "Generic TPU" profile has a "Max volumetric Speed" of 3.2 mm3/s. This results in a maximum print speed of 40mm/s with a 0.4mm nozzle & 0.2mm layer height (regardless the higher print speeds in the provided/chosen Process Preset, they will be ignored).
Max print speed equals 'Volumetric Speed'/ ('Nozzle Diameter' x 'Layer Height')
