    The ITTMind channel was set up primarily as a mental health channel. Due to the numerous requests for more videos on the psychological/psychoanalytic analysis adopted in this "Misogyny" video, a new channel has (finally) been set up: the Empty Chair: keeping the mind in mind. It will be focussed on three areas in the psychological shadow of masculinity: misogyny, racism, fascism.

    It's hard wired by society itself. How many dumb movies of old men get "rewarded" a much younger and beautiful woman at the end of an action movie? You never see the reverse true because society holds men and women to different standards. Women always have to be responsible and morally right and hard working plus be submissive eye candy, while men can do whatever the heck they want (plus ignore basic hygiene or physical appearance). It's grotesque.

      For atheists the divorce rate is at 3%.

Wasn't that long ago when people insisted that overpopulation is a massive issue, and I remember telling people then, that the curve has been flattening for a while, and they were lazy about looking into actual statistics, only to nowadays inform me there is a going to be an impending horror that is the decline of birthrates. I really have to wonder how many of these people have paid attention in uni to actually learn about statistical analysis, to actually understand the statistics and not weaponize numbers whenever it is convenient for their cause.
      Where in the bible does it say you should have children? I remember hearing that the bible promotes a relationship with god, and one should be celibate for that, but if that is impossible, you should only have one partner to support you in your worship of god. At least that is how one scholar of theology once explained to me, but maybe he was studying a different bible.
      Why is it such a problem that birthrates are now for the first time showing some decline rather than an increase? Is it because you think humans will go extinct, or because this is actually a symptom of a bigger problem that is, the proof of the fact that society is not striving to be religious anymore, a problem only experienced as one by religious people?
      Also, to have mentioned it, secular societies are caring for their homeless, caring for thy neighbour so to speak and they form very healthy communities, you can observe this across the board. Religiousnes excuses poverty, no normal human has been trained to justify a suffering person as much as the religious do.

      What you describe as the aggregate emotional effects of rejection as a 'bitterness' is what Winnicott termed 'immaturity' which is a psychological-emotional lack of development due to either deprivation or abuse. He used it first to analyse delinquency in children after World War 2 in London who had lost either family or homes and were placed in unsupervised care homes. So 'immaturity' (as indicated in my comment) is being used technically and refers to Winnicott.
      How that plays out in what happens to men being rejected by women requires way more space than what we have here - hence the new channel. Hope to see you there.

      I have so much love for all the women who've come before me (my mother and aunt in their 70's have never known a truly loving, respectful relationship...treated like trash). They had to evolve into MEN (financially and physically intelligent and capable, in addition to handling all the emotional labor women are supposedly born with and responsible for) while men have no responsibility to develop their "feminine" qualities. I've been in some abusive relationships and now at 40 I feel like it's my responsibility to choose a man who knows it's his duty to not repress any of the life-giving qualities humans are called to and born with. I don't want all the pain the woman before me, for and at the hands of men and the society they are so proud to have "created", have endured to be in vain. There are good men out there, men who love and appreciate women and want to change...but I feel like they are rare and there is a dangerous countercultural current of men feeling entitled to the backlash against feminism. Not just men who haven't changed, but men who feel like they need to fight back against women calling for equity. Wanting equality is not an aggression.
      I do have empathy for how the patriarchy fails men too though. Men growing up without loving fathers and healthy leaders is a generational and cultural curse as well. It hurts everyone. It is all of our responsibility to change and that means listening to each other about it.

    I was recently contemplating why the majority of pro-lifer/anti-abortion appear to be men. The beginning of this video gave me so much clarity on it and why their hatred for it is rooted in misogyny. Men are indeed jealous, intimidated and frustrated by the fact that women have this exclusive ability create life and be one with the universe. Pregnancy is a unique experience they can never truly understand or control, so when we choose to terminate a pregnancy - which they perceive as an act of violence (a very male trait), I'm sure it threatens their sense of power. Their disdain for it is both a reaction to their exclusion and projection of their own association with violence.

      The ability to give birth is not a trait that is "superior" in any way.
      You NEED men to give birth in the first place, the pro-choice are arguing against violence these sick women that think it is "funny" to terminate a child.

    • @wmak8421
      @wmak8421 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

      @@Changed.User100 Absolutely nothing I said implies that I think being able to get pregnant makes women superior. This is about recognizing the control dynamics in the abortion debate. Many pro-life men are driven by more than just protecting this "God-given gift", but rather motivated by a desire to control a unique ability that women possess.
      Termination is a difficult, and often traumatizing choice. If there are women who find it funny, I believe they fall into one of two groups: The first, as you claim, genuinely "sick" women who have psychopathic tendencies - which is so rare that society sensationalizes it whenever it happens, proving my original point about men/societal perception. Or it’s women who use humor as a coping mechanism to take back control, often in the form of memes, designed to trigger men - not a reflection of how they feel in the moment of choice.
      As for responsibility. It’s funny how often impending deadbeat dads, just overall unsupportive men are a significant reason why some women choose to terminate in the first place. Responsibility goes both ways, and you’d do well to remember that. But if we really want to talk about superiority, we can definitely discuss how vastly superior the egg cell is to the mere fertilizer that the sperm cell essentially is lol.

      @Changed.User100 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@wmak8421 Firstly, the video literally states that this ability to give birth makes women "superior" to men. Secondly, the reason for so many deadbeat fathers is due to the thousands of court laws that exist which prohibit them from seeing their children and force them to pay outrageous child support money for a woman they dont even like.
      And thirdly yes you do need men, this whole civilization does need men. And regarding the "sperm or egg cell" superiority I truly dont care which one is better as you need both to create human life.

    I spoke to a young man recently who has a business degree and who is anti the rampant aggression, war and corruption displayed in South Africa and the world. I told him about a case in the US where a fire chief - probably around 60 years of age, shot his best friend to death because he was owed money and the best friend had been making excuses for 6 months to avoid paying what was owed.
    This man apparently had no previous aggression or violence and told his wife "I just could not take the lying anymore".
    The young man commented: "Well, you know us men, when we angry, we kind of react instinctively. The anger just is there".
    And there you have it. The big lie told to all men and women that their violence is required because it is part of biological masculinity.
    Contrary to the guest in this video, I do not think male violence and misogyny is biological. It is psycho-socially learnt behaviour. Socialisation is in fact psycho-social indoctrination because children have no choice over what it is that they are learning.
    This young man was socialized to believe that men must be violent because it is 'just what men do.' They must not control it, because it is "instinct' and an important part of the right of males to display their displeasure in violent ways.
    If I had engaged further with this young man, I suspect he would have said "You have to empathise with the fire chief. The poor man had been lied to by his best friend. The best friend deserved it and the fire chief should not be punished for what he did".
    I suspect there would have been no understanding at all that the violent reaction was a primitive defence. There would have been no acceptance that the fire chief had many legal ways to claim what he was owed without violence. I did not point out to this young man that on the one hand he was against more group displays of violence, as war is, but seemed to support individual violence completely as a male right. There is no difference to me - one man, two, a group or a nation - all the same thing on a different scale.
    What I said in response to this young man was this "What you are saying is that men cannot control their words or their actions. That means that they are weak and helpless because they are victims of their own emotions". Sadly we were interrupted and I was late for an appointment so there was no chance to further the conversation.

      This is the average women's experience on one level or another and all they do its blame women. In my old neighborhood I was harassed EVERYDAY and one man even grabbed me on the train, never-mind all the times I was violated as a child by grown men, they think these are isolated experiences but they are the norm no matter what you do, no matter what you wear, nothing matters to them. As women it is our birthright to safely walk the Earth in peace. I also saw my aunts get beat as a child, one of them even had to stay with her husband for some times because divorcing was looked down upon she was only able to leave once her brother saw just how bad it was and that he was going to kill her.

    This really explains why my channel is able to exist and why I have been peacefully single for almost 3 years. When I think of dating, I feel drained, scared and like it is bleak. I feel it is very unlikely I will meet someone I will actually like or who will genuinely like me as a woman. Essentially, the genders are coexisting for convenience of sex, finances and children. Otherwise, after so many years, do we really like each other? I'd say no which is why half marriages end in divorce and many of them end within the first 7 years of marriage, when the sex begins to wane and things get a bit more routine and boring. I think we, humans, have been lied to with the fairy tales. We all know they aren't real, yet, women are still looking for their prince while males seem to be looking for a 1960s housewife stereotype. As I study this and continue to realize this, I become more comfortable with my Singlehood and find happiness in so many other things, including hobbies and finding meaning/purpose in my life and that keeps me fulfilled and busy with life.

      I'm glad you've found contentment, that's the important thing, no matter what. My theory on why the divorce rate is so high (based on personal experience, I guess and what I have observed in others as well) is that people are put under enormous pressure to be with a person whom their friends/family agree with, as opposed to someone who actually meets their needs. My husband and I (I've been happily married since 2016) are both quite stubborn, assertive people & so when people had their little whinge that we didn't quite 'match' or 'look good together' (or whatever other petty concerns or jealousies they all carried on with), frankly, we didn't give a s**t. As far as we were concerned we were (and still are) very compatible together (in every way) and if the world doesn't understand that well f**k 'em. My husband was even disowned by his family for marrying me and when we got the email from his Mum as to why it was basically "well you wouldn't change your wedding for me on two days' notice so I don't like you anymore". People meddle so so much in other people's relationships! I saw an article recently where people were whinging online that a woman married to a basketballer was "too overweight for him" - and everyone was getting upset about that! Who cares!!! I think if we just let people choose who they actually want in the first place (even if it's someone who's a little overweight, or a different skin colour, or *gasp* do what I do and marry a geek [I'm quite sapio so I've always loved geeks]) we need to just let people be.

    It seems okay for men to call misogyny out but when women do it, its a problem. Its a problem when women call out misogyny because men want women to see them only as charming, heroes, saviors, and dominant because they want physical and emotional access to women. If women are turned off, we can do without intimacy and male attention for years/decades. Men rely on women trusting them so they can maintain access.

Do you like being falsely accused? Do you enjoy being slandered? I suspect no.

I'm just kind of scratching my head, being like, "guys, what's your deal?". Setting aside all the horror and tragedy some people cause with it for women, I also find it rather embarrassing to see other men do foolish things because their brain switches off at the sight of a woman. It's not exactly honoring to us, either, to act like that. You don't have to be anti-man to value rightful behavior towards women. You can also look at it from the standpoint of valuing the honor and dignity of men. It's not just women who are degraded by wrongful behavior of men.

    I really don't think all men have aggressive violent thoughts towards women. I DO think the larger proportion of men raised in male dominated, male run hierarchical structures and religions do. What Previn says here at around 15:10 may apply to him, but thank the Gods, it's NOT universal. I am a pagan, spent 30 years in an earth centered religion with a Goddess who takes many forms but is best known as the earth Herself. I have dated pagan men and Christian men and the psychology is completely different. In my religion male aggression is still a thing, but its CHANNELED. Goddess worshipping men in general want to please and protect women. Chivalry is still a thing. Men who mistreat women get socially rejected by their male peers, many times before the woman has to say anything. If a guy is at all physical or even verbally agressive to a woman in a place where the community is together, they are thrown out. By the other men. You never felt so safe in your life. Sex is not so taboo, so theres probably less sexual frustration experienced by both genders. Maybe that helps to create a better relationship. When I showed my boyfriend this part of the video, he laughed and said, "Maybe thats what he thinks about, I have fantasies about pleasuring women." Since he is very protective of women, and Life in general, and being a better person is his goal every day, I have no reason to disbelieve him, as it's a thing consistent with the other pagan men I have dated.
    The Abrahamic religions are a huge problem when it comes to bad male behavior. The old testament is full of it, and the Christian God appears to approve of most of it. Lot raped his own daughters to get them pregnant and also (earlier in the story) offered them up to be raped by a crowd of gross men to save some angels. That there is some dark stuff. Christianity, on the face of it, is a sometimes evil and violent, and definitely always misogynistic religion.

      @h8h215 No, there's no commands. We have one thing we all live by, or try to, but its not a command as such. It's more of an ideal. It's the Wiccan Rede- "Love is the law, love under will, an it harm none, do as you will."
      The simplest interpretation of that is, you must always act out of love and do your best to avoid harming others. I agree with that and also feel like it means you SHOULD act. So if you see someone who needs help and you can help (without hurting yourself in the process), you should. No rules for behavior, women can do what they want, men can do what they want, so long as they avoid harming others.
      I think people who are non religious still do grow up with a moral code that is mostly formed by the dominant religion in their culture, so I'm not sure being athiest or agnostic gets an individual out of the trap of misogyny. I haven't noticed much difference in the USA where I live, between Christians and non religious men in their individual treatment of women, but that is just my own personal experience and I am only one person.

    When men tell women that they are stupid it is really hurtful. And offensive. I had that problem with my husband. My husband yelled at me calling me stupid when i disagreed with his buddy at work who told him an old worn out old carpet in our living room could be easily fixed. The guy told him he could fluff up that old carpet by combing the pile with a fork. Maybe it might of worked if the rug had not been worn down to the carpet's backing. I just said i did not think that would work. So he started screaming at me i was wrong and stupid. And then he grabbed a fork and started trying to comb the carpet. Nope. It did not work. Did he admit he was wrong or apologize? Nope. That is one of the many reasons we are no longer together. The feeling of relief was amazing when he was gone. He pulled that "you are stupid" comment way too many times.
    He did feel insecure about intelligence. In an unrelated incident, both me and my husband had to take a IQ test for some reason and my husband hid his results. I was very pleased with my results since i tested high. One day i found his results and he was a lot lower in his score. If i remember correctly he was around 105 or 110. Around 35 points lower than mine. Just a few points but it must have made him feel really insecure.

      @karenteneyck9835 well, I am still in the house we bought. He wanted me to be on the street with nothing but I refused to leave and I said no when we were in court for the divorce. It was the first time I saw what he wanted out of the divorce. Everything. And he thought I would be ok with his offer of a run down trailer with rotten holes in the floor and a year of lot rent. Before this happened he met some German woman online and he cleaned out the bank accounts, sold all his cars, sold the airstream camper, etc. He left one day without telling me anything. But my oldest daughter had gotten nosy and looked on his computer and seen their emails to each other. He was planning on going to Germany and getting a job over there. The Germans didn't want him taking one of his jobs so he couldn't get work there. After three months he came back but he didn't move back in. He bought himself a trailer, bought another to rent out, and bought some land in another area of the state. I had found out when the house had been paid off that he took my name off the deed. We had been together since I was 19. I had ended up being a housewife because I couldn't afford childcare. I'm 67 now. When he left I had read a book on divorce and it said not to leave the home because he could take it. He had taken so much from me so I decided not to give up the house. That German woman dumped him because she said she was not going to live in the US because she hated the food, the people and the country.
      The divorce didn't go through because I said no to what he wanted. He was too cheap to pay his lawyer to start another divorce. So we aren't divorced, we are separated. I am considering hiring a lawyer myself to see what I can do to sell the house. I would like to move somewhere that has cheap healthcare. Now that I have social security I have some money and get a lawyer this time. I will miss my yard with all the trees and bushes I have planted over the years, but I'm tired of being in the same place. I want to explore a new place. ( I would love to visit the UK. There is so much interesting stuff I want to see there. And it's cooler there than SC. I can't take the heat anymore.)
      Two of my kids don't understand why we are separated, but the other two understand and are ok with it.
      Sorry I wrote so much and made this long.

    Misogyny is taught mainly due to religious and societal manipulation. The main reason I heard that was given is because men feel it's a woman who led to mankind's downfall because of what Eve did. Meanwhile, they refuse to see that Adam was just as guilty.
    Fortunately, I've had only one man in my life who thought he could do whatever he wanted. I dumped him and chose myself as a priority over abuse.
    In religion, it's taught. 2 billion men believe it's ok to murder, r@pe and abuse women. Absolutely no respect for them whatsoever. This mentality molds society into the same beliefs. Hollywood does a pretty good job as well, portraying women as prostitutes and only good for the bedroom and kitchen.
    Not to mention the porn industry. What you're watching isn't a healthy sexual activity between a man and woman, rather, it's sexual abuse, and rampant human trafficking.

They defend the sisters and fight for them, but when it comes to other women, they dog them, they are cheaters and womanizers and emotionally abusive. It’s very weird so now I understand that they are literally taking that hate that they have for their mothers and sisters out on the women that they date because they have to maintain their image within their families. • @Thereferencepoint
      @Thereferencepoint ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Don’t ever internalize what they say about as if that’s who you are. Men get intimidated when they see an attractive woman like yourself and find ways to project their insecurities onto you. It says a lot more about them than it ever does about you. Don’t ever think to change yourself to try to make them comfortable because their view of you will not change. A good person will see good in others and the same applies to bad people will see the bad in others. They’re projecting onto you. I’m rooting for you

    • @wingnut71
      @wingnut71 ปีที่แล้ว

      No smoke without fire as they say. What are you doing to make them think that you are a gold digger?
      Could it be that men are just waking up to the fact that all women, (or nearly all, coz there are always some exceptions), are essentially "gold diggers". After all you seek out men with money and status then get offended when men notice that you are really only interested in them because of the wealth they have. We are not blind. We see that women want a man with money, and given that you describe yourself as poor, it may be very obvious indeed that you are after a rich man to change your lifestyle for the better.
      I'm not disrespecting you, I mean no one wants to be poor. Besides it makes sense for a woman to seek out a man who has the best chance of supporting her and her future offspring. That is just the nature of sexual selection for women. Naturally men will criticise women for it, because to them it seems "shallow" and contrary to the idea of " true love" that we have all been fed since childhood.
      Of course the reverse is true as well. How often have we heard women criticise men for what they see as superficial obsession with youth and appearance? But again this is just what men want from a woman from a sexual selection point of view. We don't care about what money you have, we only care that you are fit and attractive and willing to have sex, but we don't want to marry the town bicycle either.
      We get a lot of crap from women about "double standards" but the fact is sex is different for men than for women. A man does not want to have a woman who has given herself to lots of men. Why? Well it's obvious is it not? How she behaved in the past is an indication of how she will behave in the future. If she is always looking for the next guy to bang then she is a bad bet for a wife. Besides, if she has been with a lot of men in the local area and has gotten herself a reputation, this will diminish his status in the community. Why would he want that?
      It is just a simple matter of both sexes having different priorities when it comes to finding a mate. It is what it is and it is not going to change anytime soon. Men and women will both complain but it is just reality. No point crying about it.

    • @wingnut71
      @wingnut71 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Thereferencepoint Nah, that's not how projection works, sweetie. Go ahead, look it up. Projection is when you accuse someone else of the exact thing that you are doing. So why would a rich man accuse a poor woman of being after his money when that's not what he wants from a woman.
      The fact is men know that women want their money. Sometimes it is just super obvious and other times it's more subtle, but we all know it, and that makes you mad, because you know it's not a good look.
      If a woman is really poor but is pretty and humble and pleasant to be with we may decide to give her a chance, because we are not after her money. However if she lacks these endearing qualities or simply makes it too obvious that she is looking for money, she will most likely get the boot. We men are not as stupid as you seem to think we are. It's not " insecurity" it's simply self preservation. Who wants a gold digger? Doesn't matter how pretty she is, she is bad news.
