Pilikula Nisargadhama Park or Lake Garden is a beautifully landscaped garden around Pilikula Lake. According to local legend, the lake was once a haunt of tigers. Hence it got to be called ‘Pilikula’ which means ‘Tiger Pond’.
Pilikula Lake Garden a large number of visitors to this area for leisure and recreation. The park is a nice place for a picnic and relaxation. Besides it also provides boating facilities including pedal boats. There are also ducks and swans loitering around within the premises.
Pilikula Nisargadhama Park or Lake Garden also houses an aquariums showing a wide variety of fishes found in and around Mangalore and the western ghats. It includes some endangered species as well. The lake include gardens, walking / jogging paths, rest areas for senior citizens, drinking water facilities, shelter, food area and more.
