      @@ethicaladvocate1452 Look at 04:00, he almost glides it perpendicular to the skin and he looks like using a shitload of pressure. The blade should be around 25º do 35º degrees to the skin and you shouldn't apply pressure at all. Let the weight of the blade do the work.

      It gets way bloodier if you hesitate and place the whole blade down without moving. When you use a styptic on a long gash it feels like you’re being stung by many angry hornets and blood doesn’t stop coming out for awhile. I bet what he did hurts a lot too though because as I’m typing this he just lathered and shaved over all those cuts!!

    You might want to try COLD water shaving. The skin will be less puffy and tender and so therefore you will get less nicks and irritation. It will also make your blade last longer as metal becomes soft when it is hot.

  • @leesteely8875

    Perhaps consider some of the feather proguard blades until your blade angle control is more consistent

      I know this is old, but I tried those and my beard is too tough for it. Felt like it was pulling out my hair and that the blade was dull. Tried multiple blades of it and it was all the same.

    Nice shave Michael. This razor along with its folding brother are my favorite razors to use. This razor takes some getting use to but once you get the hang of it, it's a joy to use. I have a fairly rough beard but I get such a close shave with it that I can often skip a day shaving. I like to start by going up the neck and even up the sides of my face. It cuts down on nicks and cuts and improves your confidence using this particular razor. I find short , quick strokes at a 45 degree angle the most efficient method CHEERS!

  • @mos3134

    Man, I predicted all your nicks. Towards the end of your each stroke, you move sideways a mm or 2. A folding one might be more appropriate for you and practice without the blade and than with the soft guard for a while before moving up the professional or super blades. And for the tip of your chin, try cutting sideways, rather than insisting on the cross hair.

  • @RackwitzG

    Just like only women like short hair (on women), only men like beards. Good that it's gone. I'll give you credit for the difficulty of shaving off such long hair, which is more difficult than an every day shave. Lather too thin (no protection) and angle of razor mostly bad. A bit better towards the end. But you've been sh/tbombed for that already. ;) The "fool's pass" at the very end is impressing.

  • @garyroman3196

    This is exactly why I hardly ever use my Feater Kamisori-it doesn’t shave me any better than my Feather-loaded Merkur DE and it makes me bleed like a stuck pig. Plus, one slip and you can do some real damage. Not sure what the advantage is.

    • @Tonys_Podium
      @Tonys_Podium ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a Kamisori to tidy up my side burns. The Merkur Futur isn’t easy to get a sharp edge on the side burns. Also useful under the nose.

    • @heroe1486
      @heroe1486 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The advantage is a cleaner shave and more precision if you have a beard or moustache.
      You just need to know how to use it, seriously I'm still a beginner and still hold a shavette better than him and his 90 degrees.
      Claiming there are no advantages is like saying a car has no advantages compared to a bicycle because you don't have your license.
