    I was just gifted one of these razors and now I need to try it out! With my track record with shavettes and straight razors being what it is, I needed to come to the OG wet shaver and see how it’s done. I don’t know if I have the confidence you have to try it out, but I’m glad that you made this video. Happy shaving!

    I just picked up a Facon version that uses half a DE blade and I love it.

    I got the black one back in 2020. I’ve always been intrigued by straight razors and the like, so I decided to buy one of these. It was my first time shaving with something that’s wasn’t a cartridge razor and it was brutal at first lol. I’d say my first 50-100 shaves I bled, the first 10 I mauled my face. But I stuck with it and I’m able to handle it well. It really is a skill you have to learn and develop and I really love these Feather razors. I love the whole process of shaving, before It was a chore. I haven’t shaved since October though, growing the beard out, but man I really wanna shave miss the feeling.

    Muhle r89 twist. Muhle r41. Phoenix doa. Merkur progress. Hensen. Bought most of them from shave nation. They have the best customer service...I learned to shave with a Gillette blue tip back in the 70s.

    I tried a cheap razor and it pulled my beard like crazy, it worked with half blades splitted in two by myself...... For my everyday I had Feather Popular and now I have an AS D2 and I couldn't be more happy.... But I still want to master the art of shaving my face with this kind of razors...

    Nice shave and review of this excellent razor. I enjoy using my pink kamisori that I bought from you months ago. I can’t wait to receive the folding pink handled one! I’ll share my thoughts on my channel once I receive it.

    Geo great shave. I can't tell you how many of your shave videos I have watched. I have never seen you Nick or cut yourself. I and most shavers nick or cut themselves occasionally, How you do it?

    alum block always causes my neck to get irritated when I used it there, not a problem on my cheeks though.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That likely tells you that you're irritating your neck more than your cheeks while shaving. Feedback from the alum block.

    • @thecutthroatjourney
      @thecutthroatjourney 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The DX has more blade exposure and a tad heftier. I own both and use both on my channel.

    Ge, you make it look so easy.
    Are Japanese style straights easier to handle?

    • @thecutthroatjourney
      @thecutthroatjourney 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find the Kamisori razors have a different feel to them. I like to rock the western style since that’s what I learned on but I have to say, this Kamisori is wonderful. It takes a light touch but after using it about 3 times, you will get the feel down.

    im currently debating either this or the foldable version - any thoughts on which one is easier to use/handle? thanks

    • @jorgemarquez8288
      @jorgemarquez8288 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve never tried a foldable one before, but I do have this one. It’s really easy to handle after a while. The handle is small and fits in the hand well, and I like to hold the part close to the razor itself to be able to make more precise cuts.

    Nice shave as always Geo 👍👍 Is that an aggressive razor ? Though I never used straight razor but I really like to have a try

    • @thecutthroatjourney
      @thecutthroatjourney 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I own and use this razor often and it is not aggressive. Use a light touch and it is like butter.
