    Man awesome work. I've been watching your build and its come along sick. I want to build a dt466 in something pretty bad. Question what sensors are need to tell the VGT how to operate?
    Might I suggest for video quality to try and work on all the Uuu and Umms, I'm not trying to be a dick. I know your unknowingly doing it out of habit. It would just make for cleaner and clear video quality. I tried to DM this message to you but you dont seem to have dm set up.

      Thanks for you comment. No offense taken. I think the issues you brought up are the product of not having a scrip and trying to make the videos in a single cut. It's probably not going to change. The truth is that if I have to spend any more time than the 15 minutes it takes to record and upload the video I probably wouldn't make videos. I'll probably never make a dime off the videos due to TH-cam policies. I'm only making the videos to help others that are trying to do the same swap. If I ever have time (probably never) I might renarrate some of the videos.
      Now on to the VGT turbo. In theory (I won't know if this works for sure until I get it all hooked up) the VGT will run off the 6.0 ECM. From reading the manuals it needs to see MAP, EBP (on Models before 2005), and throttle position in order for the turbo the do its thing. I think this assumes the ECM has enough information to understand what the engine is doing. To achieve this I'm also supplying IAT, EOT, EOP, ECT, and cam/crank position. It's my hope that this will net a functioning VGT.

    How many horses will this engine put out the way you have it set up?

      I haven't turned to pump up yet, so as it sits probably around 250 hp. I'm guessing simple pump adjustments will get me around 400 hp. The transmission will need work at that point. With a bigger pump and my current turbo setup I'm guessing It'll be good for around 800 hp. Again, I'm just guessing on most of this.

      Excellent idea to use the DT466 over the problematic stock "ford" diesel. Beats the 7.3, 6.7,6.4, or 6.0 diesels.

    These engine are a bitch to work on in a dump truck frame. I cant image trying to do it in a pick up with actual fenders ect

    • @wookieworks3
      @wookieworks3  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I agree, notwithstanding, the crude language. Although, I'd argue that almost any engine is no fun to work on in a pickup frame.

      The 6.9 idi or 7.3 , 7.3 power stroke. 6.0 , 6.4 are no gems to work on lol . My buddy’s 6.4 takes up every usable inch . Bus / medium duty truck motors shoe horned in . Lifting the cab is the only real practical way to work on anything. What sucks though is the harness connector’s eventually fuck up . & Navi star wants nothing to do with 6.0 & 6.4 replacement parts . Since they are stilled owed millions from ford for their warranty work & parts on those trucks . Ultimately this is why ford made the 6.7 themselves
