    ***TIP*** If your only using a couple of the terminals, I would also recommend taking some short pieces of wire and connect them and loop them in between the unused terminals. So whatever terminals are not being used with your wire to the amplifier just take a short piece of cable and connect the unused terminals together.

    • @KuntalGhosh
      @KuntalGhosh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When a pcb like this is used. All the terminals should be used and have equal lengths of wire.
      If you have wires coming from alternator to the battery and wires from battery to amplifier then they should be put in one after another.
      Like if the first lug is a wire coming from alternator then the next lug should be to the amplifier then the next lug should be the alternator then the next one amplifier and so on.
      All the lugs should be used if you plan on drawing full power & make sure your alternator got a charge controller that monitors it's temparature because Lifepo4 can take so much charge that it will fry the alternator if the battery is low & the engine is at idle when the alternator fan is spinning the slowest.

      I think we should just ignore that guy. Most of his views are coming because of this channel 😂. Otherwise his videos do not even have 10 - 20views.
      He could not even present a proper datasheet from the cell manufacturer when i asked for it and just posted some links to 3rd party sellers.
      Very few makers can produce a high c rate Lifepo4.
      Anr26650 and headway 8ah's are known industry wide for high discharge current.

    I need to either buy or build a 12v battery bank. I’m using it strictly for charging handheld devices and running my CPAP at night. I’d buy myself a battery specifically built for my CPAP but there’s not enough power to run it multiple days. So it’s either run my truck for hrs everyday to charge it back up or get a battery that can last the entire trip. I’m looking at the costs to build one vs buying a already built 12v battery and it’s looking like I’d be better off just buying a already built battery. For anyone that reads this and knows what should I do? I’ve already got a big ass ammo box that I can easily fit a 100 amp hr battery. I don’t need a sophisticated system I just plan on doing a simple 12v DC socket with a built in gauge and on and off switch.

    Hey Jehu I bought a few of the older 64ah headway pcb. Without the lugs. Is there any cons with the old pcb? I have 2 , 0gauge lugs are bolted to the battery And 1 charge cable from my alternator.
    It works great for years but I’m now upgrading my amplifier from 5kw to 8kw and will be upgrading the 1/0 cables to 2/0.
    Should I upgrade my pcb bus bars?

    Quick off topic question. Ive watched several of your videos about using your PCB 18650 kits. On some of the stacks you mention using two of the BMS boards. Is more than one required for a certain number of units or is this just for amperage. IN other words, If I order the 25 pack, how many BMSs are needed? Thanks.

    I just bought one of these, using dc power supply full state of charge is around 17v, I have a mechman 390 amp alternator charges at 15v. This battery is doing good for my 10k watt sound system build, however it should be advertised as a 14v battery because charging at 15v it never gets past 20% state of charge according to the balancer. I am only using a portion of this thing capability, and my amps are only rated for 16v max so a voltage boosting harness is not an option, also their customer service wasn’t good, having a hard time talking to anyone. Questions about cold weather use

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s incorrect these are LiFePO4 you are grossly over charging them at 17v. These are not nmc. Do not go above 15v or they will not last

  • @Beeeeeeeeeee
    @Beeeeeeeeeee ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Active balancers are useless for LFP as long as they can't be turned on exclusively at high or low SoC. Any other time they are messing with the balance more than fixing it, as out of balance cells can have barely any difference in voltage during the plateau phase.

    • @luis789lr
      @luis789lr ปีที่แล้ว

      This is 100% correct, I have a balance board for my 16s lifepo4 I made off of the a123 26650 cells and because lifepo4 chemistry has 80% of it's charge at the nominal voltage a balancer does not balance until they're either at 10% voltage or 90+ and you can see the charge transfer on the Dalybms Bluetooth app. I have the leads connected at all times but only put the board on to balance when one cell drags.

    • @steveclark3379
      @steveclark3379 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luis789lr I have found similar results..... not really found a balancer active or passive that works well with Lifepo4.....

    • @uhjyuff2095
      @uhjyuff2095 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the active balancers "turn on" as the voltage of the cells drift. Its pretty cool. They actually are on all the time but only do the cell balancing if one cell starts to drift and then the balancer gets to work. once the cells are even the balancer is really not doing much and just in standby mode.

    • @CL-yp1bs
      @CL-yp1bs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can get different kinds of active balancers or even smart balancers that will operate outside of those ranges

    • @luis789lr
      @luis789lr ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Correct, I only use my 16s balancer to balance when one cell lags after fully charging because that's the time the balancer is most effective and when the voltage difference are more visible for it to work. Li-ion don't suffer from this because they have a linear discharge curve unlike our lifepo4 cells. One cell can be 30% soc while the other cell be 70% soc and have the same voltage.
