Prince of Persia is a fantasy cinematic platformer designed and implemented by Jordan Mechner for the Apple II and published by Broderbund in 1989. Taking place in medieval Persia, players control an unnamed protagonist who must venture through a series of dungeons to defeat the evil Grand Vizier Jaffar and save an imprisoned princess.

My bestest childhood friends father owned a computer that ran the DOS version. Such a brilliantly tough game for kids.

Poor system? Let them see games that used Amiga capabilities like Ruff n' Tumble, Yo Joe, Traps n' Treasures, Another World, all sorts of strategy, RPG, pinball games. Amiga had the most advanced custom chips that had had modes like halbrite, HAM modes all sorts of color palette tricks. The sound chip also had modes that was able to play 16-bit wav files or even mp3s when paired with faster processor. Let them read about hardware based multitasking and first real GUI operating system that appeared 10 10 years before Win95. And it required only 1MB of RAM to show it's capabillities. Oh, and tell them about huge base of free software for the Amiga that won Guiness award - Aminet. If you had Amiga back in the day you had real multimedia machine that ccould play advanced and sophisticated games, tons of free software, the best OS and fantastic visuals and sound. You could make amazing artworks, animations and music. What they had on their consoles? Only games. What PC users had? MSDOS, lousy pre-Win95 Windows that worked like total ass compared to Amiga's Workbench. Plenty people couldn't afford a soundcard so they were listening to annoying PC speaker noises...

It looks like a 1:1 port of the MS-DOS version. There’s nothing to complain about on the visuals, although they could have done a better job optimizing the music.

I can remember the old floppy disk version of this game for PC, on level 6 if you play it 2ice, the 2nd run the whole in front of the big soldiers is smaller. It means if you try to dangle on the edge of it he just walks over you sending you to your death, I can't seem to find a video of it, but I remember it well!
