I felt the anxiety he felt in the space station lol. It gave me major anxiety lol. They did good with certain things but damn. These bugs are ruining the playthrough. Yeah I'm on my 2nd play though but it's worse than my first one lol.. I cant even equip Johnny's arm cause I don't have it after chippin in Johnny keeps saying a dialog every time I load up the game it's annoying lol
Hearing V admit his fatigue at the end of that playthrough, hearing how empty he feels and how much he just wants it all to be done, to finally have peace even if it means mortal death…this game is incredible.

An engram might me the closest thing of a digisoul, but it is an artificial construct, it just behaves itself and experiences itself like a soul. An engram would be sure it is the same soul experiencing reality, but it is a chip. V died in Mikoshi. But had a V engram to keep the body running and behaving as V would. V never survives mikoshi. A fried brain running on cyberware and engrams is not the same as an organic brain experiencing itself. Alt and johnny both know it very well and only reveal that V would be soulkilled after it had happened. After that we are playing as digital constructs arguing about who will be installed in the ragdoll comatose V body
Same choom, I got the temperance ending w Johnny taking the body, it is one of the three games I cried over, especially since I made v look like me and did the campaign as if it was me
Crazy how that one conversation makes the relationship jump 30%-40%. Really shows how much V and his/her words/friendship means to Johnny by the end of the game.

Well he saved V and he really wanted her to find the best way out for both of them from the start. It is normal to bicker sometimes, he's inside her head after all and that annoys her sometimes. V doesn't need to agree with everything, and doesn't need to be hostile against him. It is fantastic how he changes for the better when having a good relationship. The secret ending, fruit of this good relationship, is rewarding because he's happy unifying with Alt, Rogue survives and V becomes a legend in NC.
I really want a dlc where both of them merge as one become a completely different person. I think that would be sick, and perhaps it can be an excuse to expand the relic perk tree. Become the better v and jhonny
That would be cool and what fans would want, but I don't think the creators would go in that direction as they made it a point to make the plot depressingly realistic to the story - No happy endings in this game. But who knows maybe they'll cave into fans based on manys disappointment

*THERE’S A COUPLE SPOILERS AT THE BOTTOM REGARDING PLOT POINTS AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT FOR THE “DEVIL” ENDING(took Hanako Arasaka’s offer)* Did you do the Arasaka ending? I don’t want to spoil the impact of what happens, just in case you haven’t-but it’s probably technically “Bad”, and there’s something that Johnny says to V inside his mind while they’re getting the Biochip removed. Obviously Johnny’s not to happy about V selling out to Arasaka, V having thrown away his principles, and essentially selling his soul just own of pure desperation. But he starts saying some things that make you go “hmmm….🤔” Eventually, V comes to realize that what Johnny warned him would happen and how much a deal with Arasaka could cost V- was absolutely true. After removing the biochip I think you could view V’s attitudes towards the whole situation he finds himself, as well as possibly regretting the choices he made that brought him to that point.
I’m really hoping that one of the expansions is a Johnny Silverhand expansion that either covers what Johnny was doing during those 10years between Alt’s “Death” and the Arasaka Tower Bombing from. However it would be those events(and in between years) as they actually happened with no grandiosity or Johnny’s biased and subjective memories of what happened like we see in the base game.

Johnny and V's relationship is my favorite in the game. I'm just a sucker for literary foils (yup, we're going there) who start out as enemies and slowly grow to trust each other and build each other up. It's such a tumultuous but beautiful journey and the writers pulled it off incredibly well.
I’m at 90% edge runner and around 50% with Johnny and the damn chip is still killing me also if you want bonus points with Johnny take him to the oil fields then take rogue on a date
Something I want to add is Johnny will divert his gaze if u try standing in front of him while he’s sitting at the well. If u stand in front of him he literally won’t look at you until u enter the well 😢
Oh wow. The Temperace ending with 90% was also the first one I got. It gives me the chills, and it's also my absolute favorite, for the same reason. "My" Johnny was all like "Fuck it, I'm staying true to you, I'm going with Alt" then V started beating me up and... that made me feel so bad that "my" Johnny went back to the body. Gutwrenching
That was my case too. I initially wanted to leave the body or V, but V started raging and I decided to remain in the body. That was really touching ending. Then I watched other endings and they're not near as good
I did the same. With the Witcher 3 I cheated my way to the best ending. first play of cyberpunk I went with my heart. I came to really care about Johnny which took me by surprise like everyone else. Still don't know how I felt about the end but that was great about it.
Doesn’t that ending make any sense tho? It feels like it was a bug because V screams „you lying bitch.. the plan was you’re out and I’m in!!“ even tho Johnny is trying to go with alt while V is screaming that. The whole ending seems like a huge mess and the combination of two endings, one where Johnny tries to steal the body and another where V is mad at Johnny for not taking the body.

@@AcBaLkX Yeah I agree on that, it’s feel odd because sometimes V speak and you can see Johnny name instead. They probably was rush it hard to complete the games. I doubt they not going fix it, unless someone on reddit make post about it and bring it to Dev attention. The ending also lead to a lot of plot holes, hope the phantom liberty give V story to the end, either good or bad to conclude V and Johnny journey up.
I still think to this Day that Johnny taking V Body out on the Town and having a Blast is a real hard slap to the Face. It's like Jonny having more fun in V Body then V has and they pretty much go the same places.
Seriously, that made me lose a lot of trust for Johnny. He wasn't my bestie - he was my frenemy. Literally - even at the end, I thought he'd planned to steal my body. It was only at the end, when he said 'Good, 'cos that's exactly what we're doing. You keep the body. I go with Alt,' that I had this moment of reflection. Made it a lot more heartbreaking - really found a friend in Johnny the moment I had to say goodbye to him.
Man in 1.6 they have delivered the game we should have gotten at launch. What an amazing experience and now that the game functions like this, you can truely appreciate what went into creating this game. It must have been so devastating for the devs to see what happened on launch and to see then now get a second chance is great to see.
Nah, it's still pretty shallow and incomplete and unpolished. I'm definitely having fun now, but I know this game should've and could've been way better. This is no where near what we should've gotten at release.

@Liberty Prime Surprisingly the game ran better for me at launch, now it crashes every so often and yeah the bugs are plentiful - but of course I am playing it on console so I guess that's to be expected
@Brian Yea they definitely embellished and there's no excuse for how the game launched. I'm just saying, now that it's playable, it's a good game. There's no denying that. Overly ambitious? Yea definetly. They learned a hard lesson and only time will tell if they learned from it. At least this game serves as a prime example as to why you shouldn't pre order future CDPR games until after observation, post launch.
@Brian thing is, I expected it to be similar to the Witcher 3, which it is. You can do all sorts of sidequests, there's a few central characters whose storyline you can influence, but overall the game will play out pretty much the same every time
CD Red really did a great job creating Johnny's personality and the actual relationship development between him and you as the main character. Doubt it would work out as good as it did if it wasn't Keanu, great perfomance. Cyperpunk may not be the greatest game ever made due to bugs or never being fully finished and missing activities or side quest-lines, the whole in-game world is just a background for the main quest, but damn if it isn't the best story I ever experienced.
I think it's the hidden dialogs like kotor1 &2 that make me infatuated with this game. The looks made me fall in love, and I waited a bit till the patched some bugs before I got it, so I had a amazing first experience
I played it at launch on PS4 and still had a great time. Performance was never great but I didnt get quite as many crazy bugs as I expected, though still to this day after 1.6 & 2.0 there's a lot of little bugs
I knew about "Don't fear the reaper" by accident. I took a damn long time making my final choice and I still ended up siding with Panam first(because I thought assaulting the tower alone was not only foolish but because Panam is the best). As soon as I got kicked back to the checkpoint I did the secret ending
On my 3rd playthru, since I knew the layout pretty well I decided to... ignore the given path. Jumping across on floats. Jumping on the bridge, or the side of the bridge. The whole area is open, although the baddies didn't properly spawn when I went backwards into nests 2 and 3 before doing the previous snipers.
Me has an intense gorilla arms boxing match with oda. This Guy: let's just hope emptying out a clip or two will be enough. Very realistic wanna beat someone physicaly just grab a gun.
This is a great video. I've never noticed how those 3 meters also gives us a small resume of where we are at during the entire story development. It can help making choices. Thanks mate !
This is very interesting because there are a lot of dialogue option in the oil field that a lot of guides say you HAVE to do like "the guy who save my life" or "you were a a dick at first" and " smasher biz really got to her". I'm glad that those options don't actually matter because it just seemed wayyyyyy too scripted if that was all required
I gotta say I wasn't able to connect with Johnny at all. I fucking hated that guy so much and I didn't get why the community felt different about him until the Chippin In quest. This quest has to be my favorite in the entire game because it's so well damn written. You're both at the crossroads with how to move forward and what V and Johnny want from 'life' and they just nailed the dialogue perfectly. All the hurt, the remission, the bonding. Chefs fucking kiss.
I still got to go on the date with rogue after picking option 2 for the last choice in the oil fields, so I don't think that blocks you from anything. Only thing that stops the date seems to be refusing to give Johnny a second chance. Also pretty sure the last 10% sync hinges on that second chance dialogue too.
Seen all the diferent outcomes make you really change your perspective about Jhonny (my run was not so friendly to him), now i don't think he would just give up.... maybe alt have the data of V and Jhonny some how will fight for getting all what he need to give v's body back to him after all biotechnica militec tsunami and other corporation exist
For my fist play through, I chose the ending where rogue dies and v goes back to the world instead of cyberspace. I felt awful and then I got out. I was with Kerry and ended up going to a space station. I went, “what the actual hell?!” I was absolutely shocked!
This was changed quite a bit in 2.0. The general advice appears to hold, but specific values are no longer consistent with old rules. For one example, the dialogue to unlock don't fear the reaper can now produce as little as 5% increase in relationship with Johnny. There are a couple new sources of Johnny relationship that happen in the PL story too. It is generally much easier to get higher relationship values, but it appears that the higher you are the less it matters to choose the right things during the chippin' in conversation. (at least in terms of the impact on Johnny relationship value) What I have not tested yet personally is if you still even need to make the same old perfect choices during chippin' in. If you are set with 80% without it for example, might you have unlocked don't fear the reaper anyway? Once upon a time those choices meant at least 30% Johnny rep if you took the ones that came to be associated with don't fear the reaper. It would be very easy for the old rule about "you have to make these choices" to have actually been the result of how you can only hit 70% Johnny rep if you make those choices, and the unlock of don't fear the reaper could actually just be about the %.
Thanks for making this, it's something I overlooked during my play-through so it was nice to be able to see all the options play out here. @51:30 I swear they screwed up some of the dialogue triggers between the different endings. V's statements of 'don't forget me' and in one of the endings attacking Johnny for trying to go to cyberspace (@1:09:40) make *SO* much more sense if it had been used when Johnny takes the body, because it ties in with him saying 'I never forgot, never will' on the bus. This game has one of the best stories, soundtracks, some of the best characters, and great voice acting it's just a shame it was rushed out and overhyped. I wish it had been less buggy and less deceitful in marketing so more people could have enjoyed it for what it is.
Agreed, I really enjoy the story, the music and the animation, especially facial expressions (except when they bug out lol)! Personally I also like the gameplay but it'd be better if things were a little better balanced and bugs were fixed but hopefully that'll come with time. I actually avoid watching the marketing except for Keanu memes and maybe half of the first trailer because often trailers literally spoil the story anyway lol
@@OneDragon I wasn't on the hype train thankfully so I was able to take the game on its own terms, bugs and all. Afterwards I finished my playthrough I went back and looked at the marketing material and I can completely understand why people feel lied to. I loved the game, but can see why some people hated the way it was delivered.
@@RN1441 Same boat, only watched that single trailer they did back in early 2019 with V riding the tram into the city. Went in blind and was genuinely blown away with the story, soundtrack, characters, voice acting, and animations. I still find myself mesmerized by how great a job they did with characters like Judy. The missions (ESPECIALLY Pyramid Song), the use of her soundtrack and its motiff appearing throughout, the lyrics of the mission's namesake applying to the mission itself in Pyramid Song, the tattoos on Judy reflecting her actual past and having incredible nuance, her endings and how potent they all are. Genuinely incredible. Knowing that the devs and writers visualized a game like that throughout the whole thing makes me wish I could live in a reality where this game wasn't released until 2030 and the game realized its full potential. This game has aspects that are so artistically excellent that nothing in the medium of video games has even come close to matching before, then there are aspects that are genuinely horrible given the budget and expectations set by CDPR marketing. Its a mixed bag but god damn did they deliver on some of my biggest wants in video games: excellent soundtrack, believable and nuanced characters, well written story with immersive themes and plots, well thought out world building and subtext throughout.

So many people forget it a story driven game is about the word, small details, immersion and ofc the story itself, it's more like an interactive movie than a game. It's art and this game is a masterpiece even with the flaws. Imo (as an mmo player) if someone is looking for infinite content and complex game mechanics than let's go and play mmo rpgs, but in a singleplayer story driven game don't expect to have 500+ different and unique quests and infinite gametime.

For as much of an asshole Johnny was to everyone around him in life, Cyberpunk 2077 makes for a great redemption arch for Johnny. ESPECIALLY, if you play out the oil field scene correctly. He may have just been a digitized engram of Silverhand’s psyche burnt onto a biochip that’s eating V’s brain minute by minute, but he’s probably the most human character in the whole game. Heheh, I noticed you use that Unique SMG a lot. Love that damn thing. It keeps your target perpetually stunned at close range. Also run the Countermass(removes vertical recoil) and Phantom(increases fire rate) mods on it.
considering that Mr Blue Eyes could very well be Waaaay Above arasaka when it come to Power , i would say that V still has a chance to Survive at least 20 or 30 More years, also the Wiki Mentions: "V tasked Viktor Vektor to find information about him or his people, but the ripperdoc answered what he had already told V. That no one knew anything about him, and this could mean he was from some place high enough that nobody could even fathom to get some intel, and that he is too much of a shady figure, given that Night City doesn't abide the nameless." also "During the meeting, V made it clear that they had nothing else to lose, as this was a very dangerous operation which no one had ever done before, but expected Mr. B would hold his side of the bargain, whom assured the merc that he understood they were fighting for a CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL and would help them if they succeeded with the job" makes it feel like Mr Blue eyes may be able to find someone who can Keep V Alive ... if V end up being succesfulm in the crystal Palace ofc

Just to help those watching this after 2.0 and Phantom Liberty.. at @17:17 the new percentages are: 90% / 40%/ 48%. I do not know how this will adffect the rest of the guide, but I wanted to share my experience.
Eh, it really depends on the order you do things, I left the Evelyn quest for the end and thus didn't unlock phantom liberty until much later into the game and my relationship with Johnny was at like 80 per cent already. And it's at 85 before even setting foot on embers.
After nearly 2 year I replayed the story... damn... I finally felt something different again ( I had don't fear the reaper ending because I had to step out from PC xD )

This is a very extensive and complete guide so thank you for putting it all toguether. Sure the game has quite some bugs, like most big hitter RPgs (Skyrim on release and pretty much most "bugthesda" games are like that.) But man the story freaking rocks! In my subjective point of view at least.
Fighting with Johnny Silver hand so that he won't kill himself is very fantastic. Every one wants the now super sensitive caring johnny to live as long as he can. What a ❤️ beautiful ending to the brilliant creation, cyberpunk 2077love,janet
At 60% I had the same bridge dialogue except no kick and fight, I kept Johnny walking. I was only missing the graveyard dialogue about him failing me and the 2nd chance I believe, as I cannot have don't fear the reaper on that save.
There are so many walkthroughs that have blatantly false information on "chippin in", saying you have to be nice to him. I followed that one, only got up to 60% rep, and had to start over. I'm so glad I saw this. Thanks man. You're a hero.
I wish after the story alt contacts V and says that her being in mikoshi she found that arasaka kept Johnny's body and she can relic shard him to resurrect him after breaking into an arasaka base like in space they've talked about se we can safely save johnny and even V
Btw you can get the center icon to 90% in the Sun ending with Rogue. You have to make sure its 70% before the ending. This difference is interesting though.

I don't know why but at the oil fields i didn't take the same choices as you ( i.e. not antagonistic at all and basically forgiving him for the "chippin' in incident" let's say ) and i still got access to the secret ending.
Good Guide.. well atm I'm wondering how your relationship (level) also effects the dialogues with Johnny.. generally and/or at the end. My first ending was the Panam ending with 70% friendships and I've also watched some video where someone had the same ending but with 60% and he had some other dialogues at his ending when he was entering Mikoshi/touched Johnny's shoulder.. Mine was alot friendlier.. but I'm not sure if its just the % or if it depends on the answers you give at the oilfield?!
It's likely answers provided at the oilfields combined with other dialogue choices in the tapeworm quest but the oilfield choice also impacts the meter so I decided to include it.
Okay guys so after 2.0, I had this convo 9:20 after interrogating Hellman at sunset motel cuz I figured I’d do Paname quests before all the others (before meeting with oda even) is it a glitch ? Since I had the convo I have the glitch effect continuously on my mini map+ screen in general :| figured it was part of the story so I played a lot and I have no early safe file… any ideas ? (Playin on ps5)

Really hope we get an after Epilogue DLC for the Johnny ending where he takes over your body and if you're good enough friends I want to see something like him going out of his way to find a way to bring V back from the dead or at least from the black wall and encode his engram into a body or something... And I want to see an alternative beginning where Jackie lives to see V with the relic or maybe Jackie has the relic and we get to see how jarring it is when Johnny takes over his body but all you see is the Jackster himself... there's tons of possibilities with these characters and they're fleshed out really well to the point you can do alot with DLC I hope CDPR will acknowledge that and not abandon this property after the expansions and DLC are done I know there's talks of a sequel of sort and I'm very curious to see where this story goes
In Phantom Liberty Johnny does not want to be wiped but he says he will be willing to be wiped in the Pistis Sophia. Another case of Johnny's main character syndrome coming to light.
It's been a looong time since I last heard the male V voice... I don't know if you do to, but sometimes I have nostalgia for earlier playthroughs of a game. Like I long for the alternate universe where I am a different character. But also, I kind of lose the immersion after playing so many times, and I get nostalgia for the feeling of experiencing everything for the first time too.
I like the don’t fear the reaper ending because , in each ending (where you storm the saka tower) someone dies , except don’t fear the reaper ending, you feel like a badass legend and you can hear the guards screaming , Johnny also says , don’t stress you are better than them , it’s super cool
Because the biochip Johnny was on was 1 of a kind and was damaged in the first place. So while Alt was is able to remove Johnny's engram and slot V back onto it, that would be all there is. Essentially V's brain is completely trashed from being independent. So either Johnny uses the actual brain in conjunction with the biochip to live a normal life, or V uses the biochip to live a short life while the biochip slowly kills the rest of his brain. There is only room for 1 engram and the brain can't host anyone, only support Johnny. So the moment V is hit with Soulkiller only 1 engram can exit Mikoshi.
man did they mess with too much with Johnny. His role in the game has changed so much since release. your answers now matter and have to say the right thing.
I missed one dialogue option in chippin in and now i cant get the secret ending. It took 100 hours to finally get to the end of this fucking playthrough and it was POINTLESS. Why isnt there alternative triggers for the secret ending?

Alt and johnny both know it very well and only reveal that V would be soulkilled after it had happened. After that we are playing as digital constructs arguing about who will be installed in the ragdoll comatose V body
I got the "Don't Fear the Reaper" ending first try and cried for the first time in a long while.
Same choom, I got the temperance ending w Johnny taking the body, it is one of the three games I cried over, especially since I made v look like me and did the campaign as if it was me

Crazy how that one conversation makes the relationship jump 30%-40%. Really shows how much V and his/her words/friendship means to Johnny by the end of the game.

Well he saved V and he really wanted her to find the best way out for both of them from the start. It is normal to bicker sometimes, he's inside her head after all and that annoys her sometimes. V doesn't need to agree with everything, and doesn't need to be hostile against him. It is fantastic how he changes for the better when having a good relationship. The secret ending, fruit of this good relationship, is rewarding because he's happy unifying with Alt, Rogue survives and V becomes a legend in NC.
I really want a dlc where both of them merge as one become a completely different person. I think that would be sick, and perhaps it can be an excuse to expand the relic perk tree. Become the better v and jhonny

*THERE’S A COUPLE SPOILERS AT THE BOTTOM REGARDING PLOT POINTS AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT FOR THE “DEVIL” ENDING(took Hanako Arasaka’s offer)*
Did you do the Arasaka ending? I don’t want to spoil the impact of what happens, just in case you haven’t-but it’s probably technically “Bad”, and there’s something that Johnny says to V inside his mind while they’re getting the Biochip removed. Obviously Johnny’s not to happy about V selling out to Arasaka, V having thrown away his principles, and essentially selling his soul just own of pure desperation. But he starts saying some things that make you go “hmmm….🤔”
Eventually, V comes to realize that what Johnny warned him would happen and how much a deal with Arasaka could cost V- was absolutely true. After removing the biochip I think you could view V’s attitudes towards the whole situation he finds himself, as well as possibly regretting the choices he made that brought him to that point.
I’m really hoping that one of the expansions is a Johnny Silverhand expansion that either covers what Johnny was doing during those 10years between Alt’s “Death” and the Arasaka Tower Bombing from. However it would be those events(and in between years) as they actually happened with no grandiosity or Johnny’s biased and subjective memories of what happened like we see in the base game.

Johnny and V's relationship is my favorite in the game. I'm just a sucker for literary foils (yup, we're going there) who start out as enemies and slowly grow to trust each other and build each other up. It's such a tumultuous but beautiful journey and the writers pulled it off incredibly well.

It gives me the chills, and it's also my absolute favorite, for the same reason. "My" Johnny was all like "Fuck it, I'm staying true to you, I'm going with Alt" then V started beating me up and... that made me feel so bad that "my" Johnny went back to the body.

That was my case too. I initially wanted to leave the body or V, but V started raging and I decided to remain in the body. That was really touching ending. Then I watched other endings and they're not near as good
I did the same. With the Witcher 3 I cheated my way to the best ending. first play of cyberpunk I went with my heart. I came to really care about Johnny which took me by surprise like everyone else. Still don't know how I felt about the end but that was great about it.
Doesn’t that ending make any sense tho? It feels like it was a bug because V screams „you lying bitch.. the plan was you’re out and I’m in!!“ even tho Johnny is trying to go with alt while V is screaming that. The whole ending seems like a huge mess and the combination of two endings, one where Johnny tries to steal the body and another where V is mad at Johnny for not taking the body.

I doubt they not going fix it, unless someone on reddit make post about it and bring it to Dev attention. The ending also lead to a lot of plot holes, hope the phantom liberty give V story to the end, either good or bad to conclude V and Johnny journey up.
I still think to this Day that Johnny taking V Body out on the Town and having a Blast is a real hard slap to the Face. It's like Jonny having more fun in V Body then V has and they pretty much go the same places.

Seriously, that made me lose a lot of trust for Johnny. He wasn't my bestie - he was my frenemy. Literally - even at the end, I thought he'd planned to steal my body. It was only at the end, when he said 'Good, 'cos that's exactly what we're doing. You keep the body. I go with Alt,' that I had this moment of reflection. Made it a lot more heartbreaking - really found a friend in Johnny the moment I had to say goodbye to him.

Man in 1.6 they have delivered the game we should have gotten at launch. What an amazing experience and now that the game functions like this, you can truely appreciate what went into creating this game. It must have been so devastating for the devs to see what happened on launch and to see then now get a second chance is great to see.
Nah, it's still pretty shallow and incomplete and unpolished. I'm definitely having fun now, but I know this game should've and could've been way better. This is no where near what we should've gotten at release.

@Brian Yea they definitely embellished and there's no excuse for how the game launched. I'm just saying, now that it's playable, it's a good game. There's no denying that. Overly ambitious? Yea definetly. They learned a hard lesson and only time will tell if they learned from it. At least this game serves as a prime example as to why you shouldn't pre order future CDPR games until after observation, post launch.
@Brian thing is, I expected it to be similar to the Witcher 3, which it is. You can do all sorts of sidequests, there's a few central characters whose storyline you can influence, but overall the game will play out pretty much the same every time

CD Red really did a great job creating Johnny's personality and the actual relationship development between him and you as the main character. Doubt it would work out as good as it did if it wasn't Keanu, great perfomance. Cyperpunk may not be the greatest game ever made due to bugs or never being fully finished and missing activities or side quest-lines, the whole in-game world is just a background for the main quest, but damn if it isn't the best story I ever experienced.

I think it's the hidden dialogs like kotor1 &2 that make me infatuated with this game. The looks made me fall in love, and I waited a bit till the patched some bugs before I got it, so I had a amazing first experience
I played it at launch on PS4 and still had a great time. Performance was never great but I didnt get quite as many crazy bugs as I expected, though still to this day after 1.6 & 2.0 there's a lot of little bugs
I knew about "Don't fear the reaper" by accident. I took a damn long time making my final choice and I still ended up siding with Panam first(because I thought assaulting the tower alone was not only foolish but because Panam is the best). As soon as I got kicked back to the checkpoint I did the secret ending

On my 3rd playthru, since I knew the layout pretty well I decided to... ignore the given path. Jumping across on floats. Jumping on the bridge, or the side of the bridge. The whole area is open, although the baddies didn't properly spawn when I went backwards into nests 2 and 3 before doing the previous snipers.
Me has an intense gorilla arms boxing match with oda. This Guy: let's just hope emptying out a clip or two will be enough. Very realistic wanna beat someone physicaly just grab a gun.

This is very interesting because there are a lot of dialogue option in the oil field that a lot of guides say you HAVE to do like "the guy who save my life" or "you were a a dick at first" and " smasher biz really got to her". I'm glad that those options don't actually matter because it just seemed wayyyyyy too scripted if that was all required

I wasn't able to connect with Johnny at all. I fucking hated that guy so much and I didn't get why the community felt different about him until the Chippin In quest. This quest has to be my favorite in the entire game because it's so well damn written. You're both at the crossroads with how to move forward and what V and Johnny want from 'life' and they just nailed the dialogue perfectly. All the hurt, the remission, the bonding. Chefs fucking kiss.

I still got to go on the date with rogue after picking option 2 for the last choice in the oil fields, so I don't think that blocks you from anything. Only thing that stops the date seems to be refusing to give Johnny a second chance. Also pretty sure the last 10% sync hinges on that second chance dialogue too.

For my fist play through, I chose the ending where rogue dies and v goes back to the world instead of cyberspace. I felt awful and then I got out. I was with Kerry and ended up going to a space station. I went, “what the actual hell?!” I was absolutely shocked!

This was changed quite a bit in 2.0. The general advice appears to hold, but specific values are no longer consistent with old rules. For one example, the dialogue to unlock don't fear the reaper can now produce as little as 5% increase in relationship with Johnny. There are a couple new sources of Johnny relationship that happen in the PL story too. It is generally much easier to get higher relationship values, but it appears that the higher you are the less it matters to choose the right things during the chippin' in conversation. (at least in terms of the impact on Johnny relationship value)
What I have not tested yet personally is if you still even need to make the same old perfect choices during chippin' in. If you are set with 80% without it for example, might you have unlocked don't fear the reaper anyway? Once upon a time those choices meant at least 30% Johnny rep if you took the ones that came to be associated with don't fear the reaper. It would be very easy for the old rule about "you have to make these choices" to have actually been the result of how you can only hit 70% Johnny rep if you make those choices, and the unlock of don't fear the reaper could actually just be about the %.

Thanks for making this, it's something I overlooked during my play-through so it was nice to be able to see all the options play out here. @51:30 I swear they screwed up some of the dialogue triggers between the different endings. V's statements of 'don't forget me' and in one of the endings attacking Johnny for trying to go to cyberspace (@1:09:40) make *SO* much more sense if it had been used when Johnny takes the body, because it ties in with him saying 'I never forgot, never will' on the bus. This game has one of the best stories, soundtracks, some of the best characters, and great voice acting it's just a shame it was rushed out and overhyped. I wish it had been less buggy and less deceitful in marketing so more people could have enjoyed it for what it is.
Agreed, I really enjoy the story, the music and the animation, especially facial expressions (except when they bug out lol)! Personally I also like the gameplay but it'd be better if things were a little better balanced and bugs were fixed but hopefully that'll come with time. I actually avoid watching the marketing except for Keanu memes and maybe half of the first trailer because often trailers literally spoil the story anyway lol

Afterwards I finished my playthrough I went back and looked at the marketing material and I can completely understand why people feel lied to. I loved the game, but can see why some people hated the way it was delivered.
@@RN1441 Same boat, only watched that single trailer they did back in early 2019 with V riding the tram into the city. Went in blind and was genuinely blown away with the story, soundtrack, characters, voice acting, and animations. I still find myself mesmerized by how great a job they did with characters like Judy. The missions (ESPECIALLY Pyramid Song), the use of her soundtrack and its motiff appearing throughout, the lyrics of the mission's namesake applying to the mission itself in Pyramid Song, the tattoos on Judy reflecting her actual past and having incredible nuance, her endings and how potent they all are. Genuinely incredible. Knowing that the devs and writers visualized a game like that throughout the whole thing makes me wish I could live in a reality where this game wasn't released until 2030 and the game realized its full potential.
This game has aspects that are so artistically excellent that nothing in the medium of video games has even come close to matching before, then there are aspects that are genuinely horrible given the budget and expectations set by CDPR marketing. Its a mixed bag but god damn did they deliver on some of my biggest wants in video games: excellent soundtrack, believable and nuanced characters, well written story with immersive themes and plots, well thought out world building and subtext throughout.

So many people forget it a story driven game is about the word, small details, immersion and ofc the story itself, it's more like an interactive movie than a game. Imo (as an mmo player) if someone is looking for infinite content and complex game mechanics than let's go and play mmo rpgs, but in a singleplayer story driven game don't expect to have 500+ different and unique quests and infinite gametime.

For as much of an asshole Johnny was to everyone around him in life, Cyberpunk 2077 makes for a great redemption arch for Johnny. ESPECIALLY, if you play out the oil field scene correctly. Heheh, I noticed you use that Unique SMG a lot. Love that damn thing. It keeps your target perpetually stunned at close range. Also run the Countermass(removes vertical recoil) and Phantom(increases fire rate) mods on it.

considering that Mr Blue Eyes could very well be Waaaay Above arasaka when it come to Power , i would say that V still has a chance to Survive at least 20 or 30 More years, also the Wiki Mentions: "V tasked Viktor Vektor to find information about him or his people, but the ripperdoc answered what he had already told V. That no one knew anything about him, and this could mean he was from some place high enough that nobody could even fathom to get some intel, and that he is too much of a shady figure, given that Night City doesn't abide the nameless." also "During the meeting, V made it clear that they had nothing else to lose, as this was a very dangerous operation which no one had ever done before, but expected Mr. B would hold his side of the bargain, whom assured the merc that he understood they were fighting for a CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL and would help them if they succeeded with the job" makes it feel like Mr Blue eyes may be able to find someone who can Keep V Alive ... if V end up being succesfulm in the crystal Palace ofc

Just to help those watching this after 2.0 and Phantom Liberty.. at @17:17 the new percentages are: 90% / 40%/ 48%. I do not know how this will adffect the rest of the guide, but I wanted to share my experience.

Eh, it really depends on the order you do things, I left the Evelyn quest for the end and thus didn't unlock phantom liberty until much later into the game and my relationship with Johnny was at like 80 per cent already. And it's at 85 before even setting foot on embers.

This is a very extensive and complete guide so thank you for putting it all toguether. Sure the game has quite some bugs, like most big hitter RPgs (Skyrim on release and pretty much most "bugthesda" games are like that.) But man the story freaking rocks! In my subjective point of view at least.

At 60% I had the same bridge dialogue except no kick and fight, I kept Johnny walking. I was only missing the graveyard dialogue about him failing me and the 2nd chance I believe, as I cannot have don't fear the reaper on that save.

There are so many walkthroughs that have blatantly false information on "chippin in", saying you have to be nice to him. I followed that one, only got up to 60% rep, and had to start over. I'm so glad I saw this. Thanks man. You're a hero.

Btw you can get the center icon to 90% in the Sun ending with Rogue. You have to make sure its 70% before the ending. This difference is interesting though.

wierd I replay the whole game on version 2.0 after this quest chippin in, I'm already at 85% without even doin Kary yet is it a bug?
I don't know why but at the oil fields i didn't take the same choices as you ( i.e. not antagonistic at all and basically forgiving him for the "chippin' in incident" let's say ) and i still got access to the secret ending.

Good Guide.. well atm I'm wondering how your relationship (level) also effects the dialogues with Johnny.. generally and/or at the end. My first ending was the Panam ending with 70% friendships and I've also watched some video where someone had the same ending but with 60% and he had some other dialogues at his ending when he was entering Mikoshi/touched Johnny's shoulder.. Mine was alot friendlier.. but I'm not sure if its just the % or if it depends on the answers you give at the oilfield?!
It's likely answers provided at the oilfields combined with other dialogue choices in the tapeworm quest but the oilfield choice also impacts the meter so I decided to include it.
I got edge runner, 60, 40. I must of missed that part in the oil fields.

Okay guys so after 2.0, I had this convo 9:20 after interrogating Hellman at sunset motel cuz I figured I’d do Paname quests before all the others (before meeting with oda even) is it a glitch ? Since I had the convo I have the glitch effect continuously on my mini map+ screen in general :| figured it was part of the story so I played a lot and I have no early safe file… any ideas ? (Playin on ps5)

Really hope we get an after Epilogue DLC for the Johnny ending where he takes over your body and if you're good enough friends I want to see something like him going out of his way to find a way to bring V back from the dead or at least from the black wall and encode his engram into a body or something...
And I want to see an alternative beginning where Jackie lives to see V with the relic or maybe Jackie has the relic and we get to see how jarring it is when Johnny takes over his body but all you see is the Jackster himself... there's tons of possibilities with these characters and they're fleshed out really well to the point you can do alot with DLC I hope CDPR will acknowledge that and not abandon this property after the expansions and DLC are done I know there's talks of a sequel of sort and I'm very curious to see where this story goes
In Phantom Liberty Johnny does not want to be wiped but he says he will be willing to be wiped in the Pistis Sophia. Another case of Johnny's main character syndrome coming to light.
It's been a looong time since I last heard the male V voice... I don't know if you do to, but sometimes I have nostalgia for earlier playthroughs of a game. Like I long for the alternate universe where I am a different character. But also, I kind of lose the immersion after playing so many times, and I get nostalgia for the feeling of experiencing everything for the first time too.

I like the don’t fear the reaper ending because , in each ending (where you storm the saka tower) someone dies , except don’t fear the reaper ending, you feel like a badass legend and you can hear the guards screaming , Johnny also says , don’t stress you are better than them , it’s super cool
why not just have johnny take over the body and have V take johnnys place and johnny will run around with V in his head?

Because the biochip Johnny was on was 1 of a kind and was damaged in the first place. So while Alt was is able to remove Johnny's engram and slot V back onto it, that would be all there is. Essentially V's brain is completely trashed from being independent. So either Johnny uses the actual brain in conjunction with the biochip to live a normal life, or V uses the biochip to live a short life while the biochip slowly kills the rest of his brain. There is only room for 1 engram and the brain can't host anyone, only support Johnny. So the moment V is hit with Soulkiller only 1 engram can exit Mikoshi.
So all I have to do is get 100 percent or 70 percent to do the secret ending easily without getting killed easily or do I need to upgrade still
I beat almost the entire game and most side missions but have it at 60% can I fix that somehow on Ps without needing to load a new game?

Impossible to get them all to 100%. You can max them out, but none of the actual percentages will reach 100%.

man did they mess with too much with Johnny. His role in the game has changed so much since release. your answers now matter and have to say the right thing.
I missed one dialogue option in chippin in and now i cant get the secret ending. It took 100 hours to finally get to the end of this fucking playthrough and it was POINTLESS. Why isnt there alternative triggers for the secret ending?
What’s the gun you’re using? And how is it upgradeed/crafted? That thing is mortal killimg bosses in less than 5 seconds!
