Nice, I was going to replace the headlights on my 2007 Subaru. However it requires removing the front bumper, and partially removing the splash guards under the front fenders.
Same here! Cracked completely off on one side.. i guess i can remove the red reflector top which is what is cracked. I notice yours is white. Thats what i have under the reflective plastic. Maybe ill just not do all the labor and just crack what i can off & then see what i have afterwards. I may just replace it all, its been ordered and waiting for me to install it. But if i can keep it to have as inventory then hell, its a go go😄I appreciate your video.

LOL, A Super Bowl ring would be awesome but this one is my wedding ring. I wanted something that was different so my wife had a ring made with my family crest. I get lots of questions about it but I love that its different.
How about if you just put a good silicone bead around the edge of the seal, and then just lightly tighten the nuts until the silicone dries, and then remove the nuts entirely. That way there is no tension on the plastic at all, and if you clean up the silicone before it dries it would be impossible to see.....of course getting it out in future might be problematic, but if it works you might never need to remove a broken one again. I have a broken light, and that's the way i'm tempted to go.
I thought of that too Robert Green. The problem with that is that the light itself is straight as a board and the deck lid is curved. The two bolts on the ends draw the light down into the curves to keep it from leaking. It actually has to bend. If you don't bend it, and just seal it with silicone, it will stick out quite a bit and you would have to gum up the silicone and it would look ghetto as Hell. Then, every time you wash the car it may break because they are brittle to begin with. I think the answer is the aftermarket manufacturers need to make the light curved to begin with.

I had a friend that owned one of the first released models back in 03 or 04 I wanna say ( im way off I think, as far as the year but, ya know what I'm getting at) I fell in love with it immediatly. That was so long ago.. I cant even imagine how nice they are now in recent years.. I havent even looked.., I wanna stay satisfied with my own car. I love cars & I know if I see one now, I'll pull the trigger and buy it.. lol, so I refrain.. but I in a year or two( 5 YR Old son will be out of a car seat. ) I will be looking. And I CANT WAIT!! 😄
KS LA I also bought an inexpensive replacement. He has held up well but I can tell it’s not going to make it for many years. The design of these is very good. I would say buy one that is inexpensive and replace every two to three years.
@@JohnEngel Hey - I'm over in Lexington. I've had my Z4 for about 2 months now. Absolutely love it! I have a similar philosophy as you. We pay cash for our cars and live with very little debt. Everyone should take a personal finance class in college. :)

Julie Ann I thought that too but they make a white and red reflector. If you take it off there will be nothing under it. :(

That’s a great question. Unfortunately, you will have to contact BMW for that. I am sure they will be some expensive little bolts and springs.
