As many others here have said, your coverage of this game was a huge part of the reason i bought the game this past week. Finally got a chance to play it over the weekend and am having a blast. Thanks for the detailed videos!

Wow, what a cool game! The descriptions on the cards whether the events, scenarios or character aspects really draws you into the game. Such that everything has a purpose and the outcomes and consequences make sense at the moment.
Still cannot believe how long this game was in development - truly a labor of love. Always tells an amazing story. I've never actually played with other people - always a solo experience for me and a fantastic one as well.
And that it all turned out so good is such a great thing. Just a great success story.
I would kill to get a fantasy themed version of this game. Looks pretty cool. Kinda reminds me of the Fallout games.

I late backed this as it was on the water to fulfilment centres and took a gamble on it, I heard almost nothing about it until I ran across a video one day. This was a huge surprise that really paid off, the game is great especially as a solo player and the amount of cards is staggering. I struggle with rulebooks but this one was really good and Is a game I have no intention of it ever leaving the collection.
I only heard of this game based on your video from a little over a week ago. It just arrived and I'm super excited to play it. Thank you for reviewing it!

As mentioned in your last Fallen Land video, I pulled the trigger on this game due to your recommendation, and I just removed the shrink wrap on this game this morning. Now I see this video! The timing! 😆
Now I just have to wait for the "Descendants" expansion to get back into stock. Have to keep the cards in the included ziplock bags as a result. 😭
Found the Descendants expansion at Hobby Rising's online store.
Picked it up based on your reviews. Could not find Descendants but 2ed at least has the plastic token holders for everything. Got the Descendants box ordered from the website and will create card dividers to handle the mass of cards in this game.

My only complaint so far is that it isn't very cat-proof, lol.
great video. glad to have seen this, as I now know this game is too rich for my table. not a knock, it looks incredible, but would just never come to the table. amazing the amount of work that went into this game though! and appreciate the rulebook notice, b/c i see tons of complaints about rule books. looking forward to the best adventures vid!
The amount of work that went into this is truly stunning. I mean, I know a lot of work goes into most games; games are very hard to make. But with some it just seems like MORE work was poured into them, and this one has that quality.

Such an awesome second edition I really need to get it. I have just the base first edition still no Alaska and still no Hawaii islands. Maybe we’ll get those as little sideboard expansions especially Alaska mean it is part of America.

@@TheDungeonDive It is definetly limited, as it is one of the first boardgames that includes events (plot cards) linked to a location as a mechanic, as I learnt doing my research when I first bought it. These events are just encounters with enemies, but still have some charm on them. I hope that you'll find it interesting from an historical standpoint at least. Cheers!
The bookkeeping is insane. Keep it at 3 players. I wish the app was more robust so much though that it replaces your cards on the table because they’re so many special abilities that get lost. come on guys build an app that handles all this fiddlyness
I like to use the character / town sheet I made. I also like all the cards because of the art.
I ended backing out of the Kickstarter. 6 characters seems like a lot. (Same reason I never backed Dungeon Crusade or Sleeping Gods.) I sometimes have to force myself to play 2 or 3 characters, but prefer “true solo” games.
You aren’t actually controlling 6 characters. It’s one party. Very manageable, especially with my character sheet! It’s true solo because you can play the whole thing controlling only a single faction!

I wouldn't play with more than three. Lot's of downtime. Turns are long. I have not played any of the co-op scenarios.
This game looks very cool and engrossing, something to get lost into for a whole weekend or more! I'm going to keep an eye out for someone carrying it in Canada. I wish it was on Tabletop Simulator just to try out before buying.
Question for you. Does the solo variant have the opposing faction gaining any territory on the map or do they just sit in their starting location and gain prestige and town health?
There are multiple solo variants with varying degrees of complexity and engagement with opponents. The one I enjoy is purely abstracted.

Still can't find this in the UK....
It’s very hard and expensive for indie games to get world wide distribution. Should be on Amazon though. So maybe Amazon UK?
I’ve had the first edition for a while now. Bought it from Amazon and paid a small fortune, but glad I did. I backed the upgrade for the KS and new expansion. It’s a super game which won’t leave the collection. Everything about it works for me. The art, narrative cards, loads of dice rolling, lots of random situations and not forgetting an absolute shed load of cards.
Yep - this game has a permanent home in my collection.
Good review of 2e. But as a 1e owner my question is how does 1e hold up at this point? I understand the new expansion integrates fairly well with 1e and is the usual reccommendation to enhance 1e, but overall how do the editions compare would you say?

No massive changes really. Refinement more than anything as well the extra content.
10 by 10 still pretty big for a game room!
I mean, it’s bigger than some but it’s considered a very small room by most standards.

Our home is only 900 SF. So pretty small. Most of the houses on our street our 1500 - 2000 SF.
I see that there are mutations and all but this seems more military/militia focused, like a 90's Waco throwback or something. Would someone who goes to post apocalyptic stuff for weird (like Road Warrior or Fallout) find enough to enjoy? I don't really want to play as preppers who made it. Game looks cool otherwise! Great overview.
It feels totally Mad Max to me. Mad Max is tied for my favorite film series of all time. Mad Max is full of different factions and militias, all fighting for supplies and survival, and is very, very low on the weirdness scale. It's not Gamma World / Science Fantasy levels weirdness, nor is it goofy and absurd like Fall Out. This has everything I love about the genre in a single box. The single best post-apocalyptic game I've ever played.
@@TheDungeonDive Thanks! Yeah Mad Max is my least favorite of the 4 movies. I need at least a little "Ayatollah of rock n rolla" in my stuff. I don't necessarily want Gamma World either. I dunno, I might take a chance on it even if everything looks a little too GI Joe for my sensibilities.
I meant Mad Max the franchise, not just the first movie. It gets ridiculous. You can have 6 fully armored, decked out nerds riding around fallout North America on armored bikes.
