My first party died from a hail of bullets from a passing blimp then my new party were vaporized a turn later after trying to salvage an ICBM. So much fun!!! Thanks Daniel.
My 2nd edition comes today! I am very excited to get it to the table! I think it may be my favorite sandbox Ameritrash game! I am most excited for the scenario book, so much replay value.
Any news on this coming to the UK? It looks great but I'd like to know if I should stop doing research right now if it's only going to be available in the US 😂
Does this game rely on negative interaction, or is the narrative satisfying even if you don't actively try to punch the other players? Thanks so much for this review/overview! I'm in the area and would be curious to try it unless the main goal is to hinder the progress of others vs. progressing yourself.
In the competitive mode there is direct conflict, and that's an important part if you care about winning. But the conflict is highly thematic and story driven, like causing a flu outbreak in your opponent's town.
Yep. I play 99% of all of my games solo only, and approach the entire channel like that. If a game isn't good for solo, I will specifically call that out.
It's funny how this game starts in St George. I lived there for about 8 years. I left because the traffic became unbearable. A lot of Californians moving in.
I wish English speaking people would stop using the word Apocalypse for a dooms day or a catastrophic event because the word actually means a revelation. So when you are saying "post Apocalyptic America" I hear a "post revelation America". And it really makes no sense if you think about it.
Oh yeah I know the band. They were great. Demis Russos had a great voice and Vangelis Papathanasiou was a superb composer. He also created Mythodea for NASA and played it while they were sending a spacecraft to Mars at the Mars Odyssey mission. And as I know Vangelis wrote Mythodea under a very weird event that happened to him, but I can't say more about it as he would not like to talk more about it. But the man had a very mystical encounter. Aphrodite's Child was very good back at the time but not my favourite Greek band. I'm more to Rock and Heavy Metal music.
I personally store the tokens in a different way. I have all the tokens variety stored in each tray (so each tray have the same tokens but in small quantity) In this way, I only need to pull out the descendant box and 1 tray to start playing the game (I use my own no map alternative and single character mode so I dont even need the map and faction card) making this game playable on a TV tray 😂

The gray border cards are cards a faction start with. They are gray to make them easier to find in the deck of cards.

this is Ultra reminiscent of the original Fall out or Fall out 2, map was hexes even although it was on pc. this looks very interesting though.
Yep. I like this even more than any of the original fallout games. This game is amazing.
