I just ordered one. It will be my first arcade stick, I was drawn in by the value, the console compatibility and the look. I'm looking forward to playing fighters and retro games on this.

How'd you end up liking the weight, joystick and buttons? I just bought one for myself as my first arcade stick as well, apart from already having a old used madcatz for the 360

Is it bad that the part I like the most is how much it looks like an old NES Advantage joystick?

I agree and think that's my favourite part about it too.

Those aren’t player 1 player 2 buttons. They are program 1 and program 2 buttons. They are used to create macros and shortcuts.

The P1 and P2 can be set to perform and sequence of buttons for example you can set it P1 to ⬇️↘️➡️ LP aka "Hadoken"

p1 p2 are macros keys to program combos if you play street fighter on your pc also to better describe the xinput is for pc use the buttons switch to windows xbox layout to program the 2 P buttons you need to download the software from 8bitdo also the software monitors your battery charge time so you can see how long it will take to charge

I would install a sanwa JLF lever with either a ball-top or a bat-top on it, an eight-way restrictor plate and hayabusa buttons into the 8BitDo PC/Switch arcade stick controller.

I would like to understand how to set it up in Recalbox (Raspberry Pi)
On the Arcade Stick, how should I position the 2 "main" buttons (top left)?
    1) switch mode: switch / off/ X-input? (obviously to switch off the stick, you must position this button on "off")
    2) control stick switch: left-stick - d-pad - right-stick (I have absolutely no idea what this is all about)
And in Recalbox, how do you configure this stick? (I know the "joysticks" and "configure a joystick" menu, but then?)

The first time I seen these is today 25/06/2022 and It is 169AUD.
Will that work on Star Wars Rogue squadron via Steam?
I don't care the looks as long it works!

Hi, i just received this as a gift. I have a question, is the control
stick supposed to have a free 'twirl' to it? what I mean is, my joystick
seems to have unlimited 'twirl', that is, the ball can rotate 360'
quite easily without registering a directional input. if i push the
stick i get easy and perfect movement, but I wasn't expecting the actual
control stick ball to have this free travel. What do you think is it a
faulty unit or is this how its supposed to be?

All arcade joysticks are like this, especially Japanese style ones like what comes pre-installed. You can unscrew the ball from the shaft by inserting a flat head screwdriver into the bottom of the shaft (inside the case) and you can get bat style tops (like what are found in American arcades) that fit the same shaft and screw onto it the same way.

yes that is completely normal and not an issue at all. its actually done on purpose to make certain inputs easier

Buy a Brooks wingman adapter then input the wire from the 8bitdo arcade stick. Converters are the best.

The old N30 Arcade Stick had less latency. This is somewhat of a downgrade.

Can buy the new ps5 controller for less, it's cool bit you can't just sit back and relax..you have to sit at a desk...ok for platformers I suppose

Most humans have a lap. And most people can casually play a platformer while sitting on a couch and using the fight stick on their laps.

Its cheap crap that is made poor. Yes, its decent after a mod, be be prepared to pay the same again in parts. The joy stick is just too loose, has loads of play. The buttons are cheap knock off's. The lead that arrives with it is also poor. I paid about a 100 dollars more in parts, it now feel well decent, is fun to use.
