Australians are fed up with this so called Senator, who WE PAY FOR. Enough. Please remove this divider, this toxic person. An embarrassment to our country.
It says a lot for a voting system that allows for candidates, who get a cupfull of votes, to become elected representatives.
Shes part Irish.. she's a 50+ year old woman who doesn't represent all Aboriginal peoples. Maybe she shouldn't take the money from tax payers as they pledge aligence to the king when they first enter government. Dont be fooled by this idiot!
Might want to see her "plead allegiance", she wasn't exactly enthusiastic about it at.
What an idiot!!
She embarrassed herself and the whole country!! Get rid of her!!
Definitely not the whole country. The majority of real Australians are not royalists because the majority of Australians are realists.....
Why let her in in the first place? Should be kicked out of parliament. Notice she waited until after “welcome to country” to start her bullshit😧
yes, not at all weird that an Aboriginal activist would allow an Aboriginal land acknowledgement 🤷🏻♂
"IT'S TIME TO RETURN TO CIVILIZATION." 💜🇬🇧💜
SHE SAYS SHE IS BLACK IT IS A STRANGE SHADE OF BLACK
Open your eyes.
She should be representing the people of Victoria not something that happened long before anyone in that room was even born
Her comments are so out of date now, time to stop blaming everyone else for all your perceived woes.
This woman does not represent Australia
yes she does. she was elected. der! chaz has no mandate. he should just say he is sorry and go home.
@@Ztandard32 She was elected under a Greens banner. People voted for the Greens, not her. She has 0% chance of being re-elected.
@@Ztandard32You need to do some proper research on which party she was a candidate for because she is now an independent.
@@Ztandard32 She was not elected !!! Find out the facts ?
@@Her.Serene.Feline.Cuteness. ZStandard is correct. She IS an elected Senator regardless of the Party she was/is a member of.
She is not the only Parliamentarian that this applies to. They can only resign or be removed at an election.
Activists all enjoy the fruits of the things they complain about. And wouldn’t want it to be taken away from them. Such hypocrites of the highest order
Another grifter !!!
I'm sorry, is she selling gold sneakers?
Her argument is sound. However, the people responsible have been dead for hundreds of years. It's constitutionally up to Australian politics to address inequality. There's not a damn thing King Charles can do about that. If anything, she's made matters far worse for her absolutely vital cause, by attacking an innocent elderly man in public, in front of his wife. A man who likely agrees with her in principle, and who has ZERO political power at all, anywhere. She is an embarrassment to the proud indigenous people's of Australia.
AND a sick man ???
Her actions were appropriately directed to the ultimate power and responsibility of the Commonwealth.
Well done Lidia.
Truth... typical of woke activists to throw a fuss.. she is only after the limelight
Disgusting behavior from thorpe...only in oz...embarrassing
Lidia wake up it's not your land it was here long before your people wandered onto it that's the only truth
Lidia Thorpe is a hero I stand with her Jamaica stand with her
The biggest shame is that people that disagree with her don't make more noise in support of the King and the UK. She is a very small but noisy minority of C U Next Tuesdays
True.we in Jamaica face the same genocide carry out by the royal family
Just exactly what is "Truth Telling" because all I see & hear is a whole lot of "Lie" telling.
Truth telling is 250.000 or so. 😅
@@lornatodd4750 250. Pulling the other one & .000 truth
Why are some people applauding her like she just ended all the injustices Indigenous peoples have??? This grandstanding does not affect any practical change.
She has said not my King. So she has revoked her oath to the crown. She is no longer a senator. She needs to reinstate her oath or resign.
As an Australian I do not share her views
Show me how to make fire and gather food?
She seems to forget about her English & Irish heritage. She doesn't know how to sit at a table respectfully
Well said no manners at all
Truth-telling, my arse. He is our king, and he should NOT be blamed for anything his ancestors did.
But he still gets the crown, the lands, the titles and the power which were all acquired through his ancestors' actions...?
@@mrdeanvincent and your point is?
Theres no point. Shes not indigenous neither! Shes the offspring of the colonizers so shes complicit too. This is uterly ridiculous.
Hypocrisy in the west have reached cancerous stage.
She should be punished and put her in jail! How embarrassing is it?
First nation people receive $33 Billion annually for 984,000 people. 2012 to 2013 expenditure was $43,449 per first nation person. If she wants to make a stand, stop taking sovereign money.
Make no mistake.
Any reparations will only represent a miniscule fraction of the enormous wealth this country has and will produce.
@@bumble-g2j many indigenous land councils have taken mining royalties. Google Yunipingu ( not the musicians) for some insight into that
@@bumble-g2jThat's because of the working immigrants and industrialist that came to Australia. The land was just earth, and generates nothing, until invention, hard work and innervation took place to create that enormous wealth.
Shouldn't be making any reparations at all, why are tax payers money given to people that didn't experience "genocide", most of them grew up with the privileges brought by the civilised world and they are still asking for more. In fact indigenous Australians have the most social privilege out of any race in Australia (as an example 60% of all scholarships at university are offered exclusively to indigenous students and the requirements for courses are significantly lower)
@@bumble-g2jBuddy if U wanna pay for their expenses out of your own pocket be my guest, but not everyone can afford to have their money thrown down a bottomless pit.
Shes not my Senator! #shesnotmysenator
She's not mine either but the King is definitely our king.
More's the pity.
good to hear! who *is* your senator?
She embarrassed herself, her family and her employer - her performance epitomises the reason I voted NO.
This woman speaks for none of us. Please do not platform her.
She should be banned from Parliament she’s a disgrace.
What a disgusting display. No decorum, no class, and an embarrassment to almost of her country. She should be ashamed but with an ego like that, shame will be something she is incapable of feeling.
Well said Senator Thorpe
@hwd71 Something about Australians today having to compensate some people who lost their country because their ancestors couldn't defend it. Always about 💰
Why don't Indigenous Leaders take some leadership instead of keeping their people in poverty and devastations by keeping the vast majority of millions of dollars of public funding given to them, for themselves
I 200%support lidia❤
Attention seeking for her one day of fame. Truth telling??? Shallow and arrogant
The land belongs to whoever can hold it. That is global law.
They had 60,000 years to prepare for any "invasion". No other country had that much time in advance 😂
Because she is full of it,pure and simple. She is not a good politician, or a good person for that matter. Easy to blame others for your problems rather than taking ownership. People who look at the past will never progress or develop.
She speaks the truth which some people can't handle. Well done to her ❤
He is still IS YOUR KING!
Not my king!
I dont agree with funding a family full of freeloaders!
@@Leebob27672they have their own income. They are paid for the work they do for the crown that supports diplomacy and brings in tourists and their spending. They pay tax.
@@itsjudystube oh so we need to like them because they pay tax like literally everybody else?
All the issue she's talks about are the responsibility of the Australian government, the King of England has no authority over them what so ever, is she really cared about the indigenous people she for one would claim to speak on behalf of them, these issue don't effect her as she is clearly not aboriginal. She would focus her efforts on law a polices that she can change being a Senator as the King of another country has no authority in Australia unlike the Senator. Blatant attention seeker only thing about herself.
Why does she speak English?
?
Her father was Scottish.
This women is destroying Australian unity
