Mehreen Faruqi calls Lidia Thorpe's censure a 'disgrace' | SBS News

Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi was asked to withdraw part of her statement in the Senate, as she criticised the Labor and Liberal Party's motion to censure Senator Lidia Thorpe over her protest during King Charles' visit.
Thorpe last month interrupted a reception for the British monarch and Queen Camilla at Parliament House in Canberra, declaring Charles was not her king, before being escorted out.
"You committed genocide against our people; give us our land back; give us back what you stole from us … we want a treaty in this country," she shouted.
