- This is just a quick video featuring the Steinwhale Super Short Screwdriver Bit Set. This is an amazing tiny little EDC screwdriver. The bits are tiny which are fantastic for portability. But its extension works with Wiha double sided bits!

Truly and deeply loved your childish enthusiasm with this extender!
I had this small Steinwhale screwdriver in target now for weeks and today I ordered it for my edc tiny toolkit. The only thing I noticed on other TH-cam reviews and I didn't heard you mention, is that it's own double bits kind of "sink" too deep in the extender. I'll give it a try in about a week that I'll have it.
Yep those bits are pretty small when you put them on other adapters. It's almost like a tiny nubbin that you can only use, though it still can work.
Thanks for your review. I received this kit yesterday, and here are my first impressions.
The bits work well with the handle, and the magnet in the handle is strong. Conversely, the magnet in the extension is relatively weak. The 4mm hex bit won't work properly in the extension, because the 6mm (back) portion of the bit doesn't go in far enough (it's too far from the weak magnet).
One of the reasons I bought this kit is to use the extension with my Wiha double-ended bits. Unfortunately, the body of the Wiha bits only goes a couple mm into the extension (they should go farther). The weak magnet in the extension doesn't retain the Wiha bits as well as it should (especially those with a small cross-section touching the magnet). The Wiha 5mm hex bit won't work in the extension, because the 6mm (back) portion doesn't go in far enough. Some other large Wiha bits are not compatible with the extension for the same reason.
Oddly, the extension only goes into my Bibury Pro multi-tool bit driver two ways out of the six possibilities. I installed a 6mm x 2mm magnet in the Bibury to retain the Wiha bits and other 1/4" accessories like this extension that don't have a ball detent. Apparently the base of the extension is not the proper dimensions on each of the six surfaces. Every other 1/4" bit or accessory I've tried fits in the Bibury with no problem.
I'm so glad you posted this! I got the wiha bits and have been disappointed in how few things they fit.
:D Awesome!!! :D
I discovered something new today: the Mossy Oak 12-in-1 tool is compatible with Wiha double-ended bits. Normally, I use the Mossy Oak tool with my bike setup, typically employing the 1/4 inch extender. However, by accident, I inserted a hex bit into the socket, and surprisingly, it worked. Curious, I tested other Wiha bits and found they worked too. A couple of years ago, during a sale at a local Wiha distribution center, I purchased some insulated screwdrivers and bits at half price. These have proven useful in my bike repair kit, where I continue to use the Mossy Oak tool.
Nice!! I need to check out that tool! Thanks for the heads-up!! :D
Just bought i! :D
@@Dracomies Forgot mention I have a small magnet (6x1mm) in the bottom to keep bits in, I dislike dented bits. I think it would work without the magnet , but the magnet keeps things held in.
@@ewjish Ah that makes sense! I remember Maxleveledc mentioning that. Ok so it's not like that by default. kk!
This is super exciting, I'm real glad I found your channel
The excitement shows. At first i thought I had the video speed set at 1.75X. It feels great when you find something that unexpectedly solves a problem you have been trying to fix/solve for a while (the only other bitholders that I know will work are the Wiha Slimfix, and the centrofix)
Steinwhale should sell just the bit holder by it self as well.
It's still a steal to get the whole package for $13 though. Even the bits are useful too. :P
@@Dracomies
I agree. I have the set but wouldn’t mind an extra extender given that it’s one of the few that actually works with these bits.
@@RpMcMurphy_ Oh you're right!! That makes sense!!
Awesome video. Does the Steinwhale extender work with the Leatherman bits, 711L leatherman ratchet or OEM Leatherman ratchet extension?
I go over each Leatherman bit but you can see how wobbly or stable it is in the video. Some are stable. Some are not. Some won't go in. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/9j3sSwX83_M/w-d-xo.html
This is awesome!
Just remember it's not the PERFECT fit but it's good enough :P. For an even better fit you can use the Wiha Centrofix
How are the bits that come with the driver and extension?
They're not the most sturdy but they're 1/2 the size of double sided Wiha bits and they're the ones that I find most useful, ie T6, T8, hexes and philips and flats. I've noticed many people are making builds that are built off of Steinwhale bits.
@@Dracomies my experience with cheap bits from Amazon has been pretty bad. The bits or drivers always strip almost immediately, like they're made of garbage steel. This claims 60 hrc +/- so hopefully they hold up
@@bdub0983 I agree! Over time I sort of view bit as replaceable but definitely veer towards Wiha and Wera bits.
Do Leatherman bits fit snugly into the extender too?
You just gave me a fun video idea! The answer is some do, some don't. :P Video coming shortly :P
Made in China?
yeah. But it's good though! :D I like it for the extender. This is game-changer. :P
@@Dracomies I asked because when you asked for recommendations for a t6 security torx you mentioned not made in China and wanted quality.
Oh I see what you're saying. This video is a separate thing moreso for finding something compatible with the Wiha double sided bits. As for security torx T6 I don't think any of them make them. They do T7 Security Torx but not T6. They do have screwdrivers but not the bits. Unless I'm wrong. @@allaboutroofing2
Stop mooving your hands while holding things how can we see or don t make vidéo and speak on the radio !!!!
I can't change this. It's the way I talk. I think people wouldn't be as annoyed if the camera was zoomed out and you could see me. But it's just the way I talk, it won't change.
