Wiha Bit Kit For Leatherman Multi Tools

  • The Wiha Technician Bit Kit made for the Wiha Technician Screwdriver is one of the best options for increasing the screwdriver capabilities of your Leatherman multi tools. Unlike some other bit options, these bits use the same type of retention that Leatherman's proprietary bit kits use. That makes this bit kit a virtual drop in option for Leatherman users that use the Leatherman bit extension in combination with their multi tools.

I watched this video many many months ago after buying a Leatherman Surge. I purchased a set like this for my Surge, I removed the retainer ring from my bit extender and installed a small neodymium magnet in the bottom, big improvement. I also purchased a sheath for my Surge and bit kit by RAE gear. I’m looking to see if you know if someone makes a 3D bit holder for these Whia bits that is like the Leatherman bit holder? I like the RAE gear Leatherman bit sheath but don’t want to carry the Leatherman bits just the Whia bits.

Been doing maintenance for 50 years. I have carried a Leatherman tool on my hip since 1983/1984. I have those flat bits and they're carried in the sheath WITH my Leatherman and bit adapter. They have worked well for me. Both racks of bits fit in the sheath as well. What he didn't address is carrying the Wiha bits. Your multitool should never be used as a primary tool for anything...only as a backup. If you need to torque down an a screw...do it with a screwdriver. A multitool is all about convenience and having everything right there where and when you need it. The last thing I need is another pouch to carry with bits.

This! I always have an assortment of "real" bits in my car, but when I'm there in the moment I at least have the comfort of having 42 completely usable ends in my pockets slimly tucked in with my leatherman with the two slides + the one on the tool. I could probably use the same space to carry 6-10 "real bits" which would give me 12-20 ends but that's a whole lot less than 42. Everyone can consider which is better, the durability benefit or the practical benefit.

For my current job, since we only deal with Phillips, standard, 3mm, and 4mm hex bolts, I’m pocket-carrying the Arc, with a Wiha 3mm/4mm hex bit in my ratchet driver extension. I keep the sheath with the full Leatherman bit kit and remaining Wiha Industrial double-sided bits where my multitool would go, in my backpack, so I can travel light with everything I need on my person. It’s a fantastic setup.

Looks like a fantastic solution for the weak flat drivers. I got mad using the ph#2 taking off door hinges to balance the door and the bit head slip every time. Change the bit for other Ph#2 and same problem, I couldn't tighten the screw. I had to go back to my truck and get the Wiha 76889 and take those 3D bits to complete the task.
Is not bad the leatherman bits but I'm always afraid of broke those bits. Thanks, Sir to share this info. I will buy them and try if fit in the SwissTool bit the one with the wrench. 9-10 slots are more than enough to consider double ends.

If it needs the amount of torque that would damage the bits then you need to put your leatherman up and go get a screwdriver

They are still hustling the bit exchanger, but seem to have lost the ability to provide the bit set over at leatherface... they are on some BS! I understand discontinuing items from time to time, but they are a bunch of crybabies!

Doohan Tallywhack, I appreciate that very much. That was really my intention when I started this channel. I wanted to impart knowledge, not just in multi tools, to the younger generation. If there is any particular question you may have in general construction or metalworking, don’t hesitate to ask. I might not get back right away, but I do get back with everyone.

@Jacob Dawson what has changed on letherman besides they stopped using oil and came with easy to brake parts?
I have a charge tti and a swisstool plus.
      Swiss is everything u need.
U even can use standard bits by default.
Nn buy extra shit to have some proper drivers.
But there is a tool for everyone.
