Out of the bunch of requests I sent this is the only one from a game I haven’t played. Im by no means a fan of Cytus and most other rhythm games because I’m awful at them - but I found this sandwiched in a massive VGM TH-cam playlist a long time ago and it’s simply one of the best pieces of music I’ve ever heard. that’s it.
Some explaination on why there's 3 songs! In Cytus, there are sometimes hidden tracks if you press specific parts of the track's cover. For L, there's the base version you play normally (Lost); there's one where if you hold the center until it changes to red, you get Loneliness; and there's one where if it changes to blue, you get Liberation. Just a cool thing they added to the game!
yes cytus!! i found a lot of amazing music artists from rayark's games, including ICE of course. literally iconic...there's also xi as people have mentioned, and im also a fan of M2U, sakuzyo and t+pazolite ^^
There is actually a longer 1 hour version of this where it is split into 6-7 parts all detailing a part of a much bigger story. This 12 minute version somewhat only a summarized version of the full version.
Well this is a pleasant surprise, clicked when I saw the art associated with the song alone. It's been sitting in my video game playlist for years. So glad to hear you enjoy it.
If there’s some suggestions I would make, look up Xi’s songs - “Halcyon” and “Another Halcyon”. Hearing all this is bringing back all the euphoria I felt playing this game. EDIT: More songs that come to mind from this game are as such: -Storia -The Sacred Story -Chapter K (In General) -Morpho -The Last Illusion -Bloody Purity There are also songs from another game from the makers of Cytus that’s called “Deemo”. Feel free to check some songs from there as well!
Holy shit, this is one of the last songs I'd expect ANYONE to react to :O It honestly deserves so much more attention, thanks to whoever requested it lmao
oh wow I'm shocked to see a Cytus reaction. I didn't play too much Cytus as I was more a fan of Rayark's other game Deemo, but ICE is up there as one of my absolute favorite composers next to Xi. Their songs are known for being some of the must BRUTALLY difficult to beat to the point where Deemo had a special book called "Xi vs ICE" and one of the song's difficulties was just labeled "Pain". I definitely recommend checking out their work as some of it is outside of VGM.
Just found your channel a few days ago and was surprised to see Cytus on here. That was the rhythm game that got me into rhythm games years ago and has a ton of awesome tracks.
Loneliness and Liberation are one song, ~L2 - Ascension~, which was split into two for gameplay purposes (Act 1: Loneliness and Act 2: Liberation) (Not to be confused with L2: Ascension To The Upper, an orchestral remix of L2 that also appears in Cytus). The first L (Lost) is a separate song and has its own extended version in the album Triumphal Return Of Prismatic Music. Cytus is indeed a rhythm game, and has many songs by L's composer (ICE). L and L2 are probably the best among them though. Sadly, ICE left Rayark (Taiwanese company, developers of Cytus) a couple years ago because one of his songs had a secret "liberate Hong Kong" morse code message inside it in support of the hong kong protests. It sent chinese fans rabid and he was basically forced to leave
In terms of cytus, you are just scratching the tip of the iceberg. The song genre is very diverse. From popular cytus songs such as holy knight to underrated gems like red eyes. Its my favorite rhythm game and seeing people slowly realize how much of a gem cytus is makes me happy.
Cytus is full of brilliant music from all kinds of artists and all kinds of genres, and you probably don't need me to tell you that L is one of the all-time classics of the series' very niche fanbase. Ice (the author of L) is famous for mixing classical and EDM, some of my favorites that lean towards the classical side being "Parodia Sonatina -Grande-" and "Scherzo -pain in rain-" Another artist who has a similar composition style (called Artcore, I think) is xi. His Cytus classics includes Halcyon (I think this track was what kickstarted my love for *music* altogether all those years ago), Parousia, ANiMA, and many more. This game is special to me as it's my childhood self's gateway from a kid who doesn't care one bit about music to a college student with earphones on almost 24/7. If you want some good songs similar to L to listen to during off times, check out the pieces above, you'll have a good time.
Ahh rhythm game music! This track was pretty popular back in the days, to the point that the game did a whole spinoff called chapter L, using ten tracks (if I remember correct) and their cover to tell a tragic story. All ten tracks together would probably too long to make a reaction video but they are amazing. I believe the genre of this track is artcore. As mentioned by others xi is another composer that makes music in similar styles, but artcore itself has more variations. My personal favourite would be music by Feryquitous, so you can imagine how happy it made me when his music made an appearance in the main story line of the game Arcaea that I fell in love with several years ago. The track is called Arcahv and please check it out if you're interested!
This game has so many good tracks, hopefully you get more! And it would be even better if you get tracks from the creators of this game. All they do is rhythm games with top tier soundtracks
the music in cytus is very very well done and super variable. im nearly certain this is done by many different ar5tists. also im pretty sure that piano is sampled or recorded and mixed in numerous parts and arranged at a higher speed. whatever the case the only music in a rythm game i like more is tone sphere but only becasue of sentimental reasons.
Love the content as always Jesse. Thanks for all you do. I do hope you see this, but you should check out "Roar of the Jungle Dragon" by DM Dokuro from the Calamity Mod for Terraria. You will not be disappointed. Cheers.
Oh wow, I didn't expect to see Cytus to get reacted. It's been so long since I see anything related to it. Thanks to the person who requested it! Would you believe me if I told you that this isn't the most brutally difficult song to play? Yes, you read this right. I mean, yes, songs by Ice are difficult but still passable with some practice. BUT! There's another song that's pretty much borederline impossible to play through without failing and only a handful of madlads and madlasses were able to barely pass it.
Ah yes... Rayark Games... Always with the best music... For example, the music that were on Deemo... Each and every single music there had its own color/personality (Uhh... Music with personality- I guess) So yeah!
Cytus and Cytus II almost feel like cheating, since they’re all about awesome music, but I don’t care! It’s my favorite rhythm game! Especially because EDM crossed with Orchestral type music is my favorite niche genre!
please pleaaaase react to more of Hades I love that game and I watched all of your reactions of it like 10 times I recommend wretched shades, lament of orpheus, the king and the bull, those 3 are phenomenal please consider reacting to one that will make me so happy
Hello Jesse, sorry to bother you. I watched this video and I liked L song a lot. In the first minute of the video I can hear a song playing and a voice speaking. Could you please tell me the name of the song? Thanks.
I’m sure I’m adding to a massive backlog of requests, but I’d love to see you react to Ys (pronounced like “peace” without the P) music. Termination from Ys Origin would be a fine starting point. th-cam.com/video/6duvDvwDmyU/w-d-xo.html

This. Sometimes TH-cam clutch their recommendation. Now I know Rigel Theatre, Mamomo, Lamberti Phil and etc

To me, this is ICE's magnum opus.

@@kire5047 lookup cytus chapter L
Aaah yes, the Chaptee L
One of my favourite chapter in the game.
W suggestion. There are barely any reactions to music from rhythm games so this is so nice

He should check out Miyolophone’s arrangement of Halcyon. It cleans up tye mix and adds some special aspects to it 👀

My fingers hurt from just hearing it again
Lemme guess its one of if not the hardest song in the entire game

Dang what a BANGER of a song
Now we entering rhythm game territory I see, can't wait what else will be in the backlog and more now.
The "Drum roll" in the Loneliness part sounds a lot like a timpani.
So dramatic, so much personality. love it.
do check out ICE (the one behind this song) and XI's songs, they're actually some of the best musicians ever.
BRO i had forgotten this song existed, and it's one of the best things i've ever heard.

yes please more into the cytus rabbit hole!
would definitely recommend listening to iL by ice as well. Great song
You need to do more Rayark music reaction, a nearly half a decade of gem of a music collection, crewted from all those who made amazing musics.
Oh I remember this game :< maybe well see some of Cytus 2's music and deemo's :)

If you didn't know who Kevin was, may I suggest "Tomorrow" by Kevin Penkin?
I don't know if anybody requested this but
Darkest dungeon , The senscence.
“Sealed Vessel” from hollow knight?
Ice is a god

This kind of music is called Artcore if you want to look for more
Never played the game but you should listen to one of those and it's called "Vanessa"
