- It’s no secret that the Junior’s favorite vehicle in the Hemmings Garage is the 1965 Dodge A100 pickup. Even after all of the repairs necessary to make it a reliable, fair-weather shop truck, his enthusiasm for this project has been obvious.
In this episode, Junior brings the project to completion with help from Glenn Sauer as the 273 V8 gets installed, the assembly completed and off for the first mission, rescue a 292ci GM inline six for our next secret project.
While a new Goat Yoga class may be what those around you believe would motivate you to be a better person, we have to believe that watching these motivating videos on the A100 has been a pursuit you’d enjoy far more.

The cushion was a dad accessory. I believe that the A100 hand book said that the engine cover was not to be used as a seat. Some thing about the person sitting on the engine cover becoming a projectile in case of an accident. Remember the step van? It had a 292 in it. Great video Thank you.

Your A100 reminds me of George Schumpert's "Thunder Wagon" wheelie truck and all the times I saw it at Dragway 42 with my dad when I was a kid. Yeah those A100's are cool trucks for sure👍

Had to comment again, that is such a cool truck. All those type of cab over trucks were/are cool but the dodges looked the best....in my opinion. Yours has that perfect stance with the proper size wheels as well. Totally bitchen and period correct
Makes me want to go get one. Then I looked at the price for a decent running one. Yikes. Cool vehicles though.
I have the a 100 van version of this. I like the V8 engine in it but I wish I could put a 4 speed manual transmission in it. I don't know how you could get a shifter rigged up though since the transmission shifts from the top not the side as with 3 speeds dodge used in the a series vehicles. I think there is a way to put a shifter on the floor if a person had some kind of linkage that could telegraph back to the transmission. Just not sure how to do it.
And staying with the theme...Less-than a shoestring budget.
I don’t know what would be worse. Being part of the crumple zone or being ejected out of the crumple zone because you were sitting on the doghouse. 🤔
