It's been a crazy year. Started saving for this kit and didn't want to break anything while I was saving. I was gonna wait till December to move forward with turbo swap, but Mike gave me a hell of a deal, and he was able to sell my Whipple and Kooks almost overnight.
Listen, no disrespect to Mike, but their break from Lund is the reason I I am not going with HPJ for my build. I'm not taking any side on the matter, and I know there are contentions from both side, but they are the #1 tuner for a reason. You have a very expensive build to be going to an in-house tune.
I came in a rock and a hard spot. I love Lund and can ultimately go back to if I feel O'Grady isn't up to the task. The fact they had the split and discussion with Mike about it and understanding why "I can't mention here but you can reach out to him personally." I'm just in a rock and hard spot. I don't like the idea of being a go between a tuner and a shop that isn't communicating. I want HPJ to build my car because of their experience. I want to be able to drive it out of there and not have to be a 3rd party between Lund and HPJ. Honestly, if it were up to me... I'd put Mike and Sr./Jr. In a room and make them make it good again, but it's not gonna happen. So I decided I would let HPJ tune the car. If I get gapped by a Lund car, I can always go back to Lund. I am doubtful Mike would allow O'Grady to tune my car, knowing it would shit bricks on the dyno. But I respect your choice and decision. I am sure HPJ did lose customers because of this. I, however, will still rep them, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Lund and highly recommend them as well.
@@TheHotSauceGT350 I think that is very well said and well-reasoned. If I already had my car at HPJ, I am sure I would be similar to you. I had a great conversation with Mike and I just did not want to have the shop and tuner not able to communicate. I did not want to be the 3rd party, or have to lie to either HPJ or Lund about the other's presence. Tough situation all-around because HPJ is the go-to in the STL area, in-house tuning aside. When my 350 goes hellion, I am not sure where I will go because we do not have a great variety of choices.
I was wondering why I haven't seen you at WWTRA this year. Well next season you'll tear it up!
