There’s actually a story similar to this, even a movie. The movie itself is titled, “Jungle.” Pretty interesting as well. Three tourist, Yossi, Marcus Stamm, and Kevin Gale are lured into taking a journey with an “american” tour guide named Karl. Watch the movie if you want more details.

That's based on Yossi Ghinsberg's trip in 1981, long before Davey went. Also two different countries. Yossi was Bolivia, Davey Peru. Davey on the Amazon River, Yossi on one of the many tributaries that lead to the Amazon River itself. Similar stories of being lost in the jungles of the Amazon region, but different. Though to be fair, people who are lost in the Amazon, those who never come back, I suspect their stories are a lot like either of the two above, these are only the ones who survived to tell what happened. I imagine those who never came back reached the end that these two didn't but almost did.

@@fionapowell8741 yes, they do exist, production was from 1936-1955 and very few were made. Think most of us are just "giving guff" about it due to how it's so very, very uncommon/ unlikely.
*My personal opinion* is, that's odd for an lowly River Pirate to have a weapon so rare/valuable. That's all.

I wonder if he ever repaid the ttribes and small communities along the river that helped save his life? That was a very noble thing they did, helping someone of a different culture and race, who is a forginer and doesn't speak their language and still the helped him. ❤

Awesome, I love stories where people survive against all odds!
This story is a prime example of both the dark side of humanity and the Best part of it. I've seen many poor people in my lifetime and I'm still astonished on how kind they can be, way more than the people living in first world countries.
There are good and bad in every financial segment of life, in every color, in every country. Unfortunately, it is just human nature. Thankfully, there is more good than the bad and that is what makes this life worth living. :-)

Tarantulas in the Amazon are actually very chill. Tarantulas in the America’s (new world tarantulas) are very slow and patient and rarely try to bite, however they can kick hairs off their abdomen that irritate the skin and eyes and some species’ hair can even feel like a burning pain. The species in Africa, Europe, and Asia are the aggressive fast mean tarantulas that give them the bad rep, but even they don’t like to bite and just like to run away.

Nightcore House shotguns are 20 gauge 12 gauge or 10 gauge, .22 is a rimfire rifle cartridge, not a shotgun shell

I have no idea why people who don't know anything at all about guns don't spend more than two seconds at least researching them before they reference them, like you should any subject. It's so prevalent when it comes to guns especially. You can bet the people who do that are the loudest, most anti gun people out there too.

That’s right pirates, well Less eye patches and cutlasses, and more AK-47s and speed boats. “The infographic show 3-10-2020. Idk why that was so funny to me lol. But it is amazing how there are people out there that helped him like that when they didn’t even know him, a complete stranger, they seen how hurt he was and was like, yea he’s not going to make it if we don’t help him. And they had to realize the pirates that attacked him might attack them for helping him escape. It makes me still have hope in humanity to here storys like this and others like in the movie lone survivor That’s about the story of operation redwing. And Out of all the groups that did help him, all it would have taken is one group or maybe one person that leads there village not to care and he would have most likely not made it.
