I lived in the Amazon for 3 months ( only made it because I had help from the local groups). It's no joke!... you're literally always on the look out for something that's trying to eat you and many things do take a little bite at night but you "just get use to it". The scariest ones are the smallest or silent ones because they're hard to see, even plants you don't want to bump into. When I met Australian travelers closer to the more tourists areas, they even said it is much more dangerous. They only lasted a week or two 🤣.
Even if you doesn't encounter an Amazon monster, you may get really sick from a mosquito bite with malaria or yellow fever... That place wants to kill you. Of course, there's a yellow fever vaccine and malaria is treatable, but even then it can ruin your adventure. I still want to visit this wonderful rainforest at least once in my life though

I still hold that the Loch Ness monster is/was a sleeper shark. There's a historical account of someone being attacked by some monster in a river that was formed between Loch Ness and the ocean hundreds of years prior during a very rainy period, sleeper sharks can survive in those conditions despite their size (Loch Ness is not friendly to living things), and the locals describe seeing a gray hump breach the water, not a head like the (fake) photo. Sleeper sharks (specifically Greenland sharks in this case) have their fin placed different on their back compared to most other sharks, so when they breach the surface, only their back is visible, not their fin. River Monsters did an episode covering this, but I held this theory years prior to that - it was just nice seeing someone else come to the same conclusion.

I live in Manaus, a city right in the middle of the Amazon rainforest and I remember one time in a very raining day we woke up with an alligator right in front of our house lol but this brings me to my main point, we don't have crocodiles in Brazil, we have alligators

For those who are baffled about how people survive in the amazon. Im Guyanese and the amazon is also part of Guyana.. most of the population live in the city and for those who occupy the rainforest areas, they live in settlements and lets just say that they respect the environment and the animals.. they take only what they need and thats why the animal populations thrive... there is an occasional death from snake bites but the big creatures do not dwell among humans unless theyre hungry, their habitat has been disturbed or they are looking for warmth... other than that they just pass by and mind their own business..

That's why it's possible to be looking for something and look right at it and not see it if it's not where you expect it to be.
There's also the factor of what's in Loch Ness for food. Loch Ness has very little living in it. Any large highly-active creature wouldn't be able to survive in there - it would die off very quickly because it would run out of energy quickly. However, something like a sleeper shark could survive on that little amount of food for a long time because of their inactivity.
@@scottphillips6005 I agree that the locals probably have the most accurate depictions of the Loch Ness, but it could be a relatively slow metabolism creature which would allow it to conserve a lot of energy and not need to feed a lot on a daily basis

@muscle coin When I was young I often noticed that animals like peacock,dogs and birds used to approach to me for food but they were scared of my family members I don't know why this happened but now I have 7 street dogs rescued and 14 birds rescued

@muscle coin You know, life may be of many mysteries but it doesn't meen that we stop researching about them. We surely eat plants, animals do kill each other for survival. But animals,nature also have a purpose on emotions. Dogs often hunt peacocks just because they think is annoying. My dogs never hurt any animal till now.
If world would end vegetarians will also not have any choise rather to eat meat. But they can rather eat a plant or tree organ found by scientist for survival. There may be some organs for us to eat from the animals.
Mysteries may not be solved completely but isn't even impossible, if to continue life or may be the only mean then we can't stop researching about these things .

I live in Manaus, a city right in the middle of the Amazon rainforest and I remember one time in a very raining day we woke up with an alligator right in front of our house lol but this brings me to my main point, we don't have crocodiles in Brazil, we have alligators
Yet a very huge alligator so he is not completely wrong here lol(brazilian here) our black caimans are much bigger than the others gators around the world but smaller than a croc, its a very unique monster indeed, its not surprise people confuse them with crocs, they are just abnormaly huge compared to the rest of its kind.

For those who are baffled about how people survive in the amazon. Im Guyanese and the amazon is also part of Guyana.. most of the population live in the city and for those who occupy the rainforest areas, they live in settlements and lets just say that they respect the environment and the animals.. they take only what they need and thats why the animal populations thrive... there is an occasional death from snake bites but the big creatures do not dwell among humans unless theyre hungry, their habitat has been disturbed or they are looking for warmth... other than that they just pass by and mind their own business..
