Carl Fontana and Jerome Richardson perform "Just Friends" at the Four Queens (April 1, 1985) Bill Stevenson - piano Bob Adley - bass Carmon Castale - drums
This was a live session in a casino lounge so the pitch would be off I’m from Las Vegas and have been there many times and the facilities are suspect JUST FRIENDS is in F
Sounds like they are in A. The song is played in Bb a lot, so the tape may have stretched out. But an entire half-step? Maybe. The licks that Carl is playing definitely sound like he is in Bb.
The Greatest Ever!
Terrific!
Bob Badgley - bass
Carmen Castaldi - drums
Where did you get these recordings from? I have almost everything with Carl, but have never heard this before. So great...
Sou fã muito bom
Jerome Richardson... after Carl Fontana.

is the recording a half step off, or are they actually playing in E? seems strange

it is definetly Bb : I am blessed with perfect pitch and used to play and teach the trombone professionally so I can hear it is NOT in A for sure....
it's in F
the first chord is Bbmaj7 however
It doesn't matter ! Just listen to them!!
