Hi there! Are you by any chance related to Carl Fontana?

Yes, it is always good to have more of the Master to hear.
Sad thing is, even with a true recognized master like him performing, the people can't shut the hell up and LISTEN.

The bulk of them have no clue of the quality of musicianship they are presented here with: Including the Rythm section and the singer...

Well, this is just how it is in the real world when playing gigs a small venues and being recorded with a standard camcorder. Trust me, i've been there, done that and this is how it is. Re. guitarist: This is a gig in a small venue, and there are no piano player, so the guitarguy HAS to lay on the harmonics for evryone to hear. Carl plays as always so bloody beautifully, and actually this is a fine little gem on a recording:-)

This is AMAZING to say the least: Most peopole there do not have a clue of the qulity of the jazz music offered in front of their very eyes: Carl as always impeccable and the playing of the Guitarist is a real tour de force since, as you rightly said simon, picks up the role of the pianist as far as driving the chart and all the chords attached to it...

Two of there greatest ! Man easy listening , hard to fine now days. Mostly in small bars and jazz clubs. You have to become like a modern day bird dog and hunt out the great musicians where they are still performing. 10:24

The reality of being a musician! I just saw another video of Maynard, late in life, doing a concert...in a high school! Thank God for Beethoven, the egomaniac who demanded that classical musicians at least receive their due. Music 'as food' for the soul, or actual food, but not both at the same time thank you. RIP Carl.

People always make too much noise while performers are singing and playing. The club manager hasn't a clue!

So true for most of them would qualify those geniuses' music as "elevator tunes." But that is the way it is! Cannot expect everybody to understand the intricacy of jazz and the quality of the musician on display in this particular gig.

The guitar player is stepping all over the band! Let the vocalist do her thing and Carl complement her, jesus man...or turn down a little if you must.

Under the circumstances the camera microphone could be moved a few feet in any direction and the mix would totally change. Even without the guitar the vocals/trombone are not hot enough. It's a bar, not a recording studio. If the singer was hearing it the same way we are she would certainly tell him to turn it down.

Sorry Zombbg4 but please bear in mind that the guitarist is replacing the piano and relentlessly providing the harmonic (chords) backbone for the tunes as well as being part of the rythm section driving the band as it should be.
