Having indoor workout equipment at home is such a game changer. I understand that it’s a privilege as it is a large investment up front, but not having to worry about the weather, sharing equipment, commuting to a gym, etc. is priceless. Also couldn’t help but notice the gains, Trav! Your hard work and dedication is paying off.
The one thing 2020 taught me is I can workout at home. As a family with 3 small children being able to workout whenever I get to is amazing. I never see myself going back to a commercial gym. The amount of extra time I get to spend with my family is priceless
Really appreciate a fitness influencer who has his priorities in order. I have an epic home gym and no excuses haha I recently ran across another one of your videos and it got me back in the groove of the early morning workouts. Appreciate it Travis. Also a month out from adding another little girl to our family. Lets go 💪
We started our home gym during covid. Started small. Now my entire basement is a home gym with all the equipment I’d need. Best part? We just had our little girl 3.5 months ago so she gets to grow up watching me and my wife prioritize exercise in our daily lives so hopefully she carries that same want into her life
If you’re in it for the long haul then having a home gym is a must! I’ve had one in at least some form since I was 13y/o (since 2003) started small in my parents master bedroom then at 19y/o moved into a 12’ by 12’ (144sqft) building with a power rack, lat tower, deadlift platform, and some dumbbells. By the time I was 28yo I moved my gym into a 1200sqft garage (that was on my new property) and now I have an equipment selection that’s as good as most of the gyms in my region. And for those worried about expenses, if you’re willing to travel within a couple hours of where you live and haul things you’ll literally save thousands of dollars on building a home gym using Facebook marketplace.
In a weird spot where I have a sick home gym setup, but now considering getting a membership somewhere local. With 2 young kids, 2 dogs and a wife it’s hard to get anything done without it being an absolute circus in there.
Good video! With that leg roller you can attach it to the rig a little higher and back up your adjustable bench set to an incline and then do modified Nordic curls. I've also started looping a band over the top of my rig and using that as assistance when doing Nordic curls too. One day I'll get them full range of motion unassisted!
It’s true! I started off with a mirror and a couple dumbbells in my room. When I kept dedicated to the workout, I felt like I earned spending on a bigger set up. The most fancy and expensive gym in the world doesn’t do the work!
For most home exercisers, who are not gym buffs or who do not fantasize accumulating huge elaborate, and expensive exercise machines just for the love of such the equipment, the Total Gym is an ideal choice: it is reasonably priced, versatile, and it eats up a very small part of any room where it is placed. And, yes, you can add weight plates to all but the very lowest priced Total Gyms.
Haven't been to a commercial gym in years and I don't plan on going back. The amount of time (especially the commute) and money I wasted at Lifetime was incredible. I have everything I need in my garage gym that I've pretty much closed the gap. All that's missing is a steam room/sauna.😆
I got very very lucky with my gym. Dumbbells to 100 and the rack, cybex squat press, cybex leg extension, cybex seated leg curls. Cable crossover, rack, preacher, sissy squat plate. I got it all for 2300 bucks. My gym closed, the owner sold everything and I was one of the first people to get there.
i dont have a home gym-but i think just setting up 1-2hrs in a gym with no distractions is what i prefer. I thnk when you start having kids about the house, its hard to get a proper workout in
The kids are what caused me to build a home gym the amount of time saved and the ability to fit in a workout with a busy schedule are absolute game changers. The added bonus is they are my little gym buddies and get to learn healthy habits from an early age
A setup like that is just idiotic. Calisthenics is cheaper, cooler, and puts less strain on the body. Pull up bar, Rings, Parallettes, resistance bands are the essentials. Additions would be floor plate and bar for bands which double as isometrics devices, Arm loops for leg raises and a Weighted west.
In my opinion, however, the biggest problem with home gym owners is that they often buy machines that hardly anyone uses in the gym and then usually look as if they are not training at all. Even hobby footballers look fitter than most home gym owners.

Great advice on home gyms. Plus, it is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, with no excuse not to train.
Home gym should be an essential part of the house moving forward. Similar to how a house needs a kitchen LOL.
Hell yea

Your gym is perfect 💗 I love having a home gym. Although, my home gym is tiny, it does work for me.
Such a sick home gym setup. What you said about wanting to go to the actual gym for the machines and seeing the gym friends is exactly how I feel.

Dude I think you literally just changed my life 🙏
Good stuff brother
❤️
Great points! Before Covid I swore I’d never have a home gym. AFTER I found out it’s usefulness.
Just received my Echo Bike. Holy Cow. Travis - my future grandchildren thank you.

Barbells over people every day all day

Ice, to the point video. Thanks.
Home gym was the best thing we ever did!

Since I wouldn’t take the 💉, I ended up buying my home gym. Best decision I’ve ever made.
Hashtag make Brussel sprouts cool again
OG!!
I started with a 35 lb kettlebell. Now. My gym is my sanctuary. And my wife does the exact same thing in her office.😂

First, you have to OWN A HOME. 😊
Great video (as always) and absolutely relatable!
pd: random question, what's the brand of the tank top you're wearing at 1:30?
Thanks! It’s an old tank from a brand called Modiv (they don’t exist anymore)
You just sold me on the echo bike
😂 I love it
@@BusinessAndFitness is it different to the exercise bike in the gym?

Home gym is the best investment ever…even though my wife also doesn’t use my home gym despite me spending 10k on it 😂
I feel this
Hey Travis, if you don’t mind me asking at what age did you have your first child? By the way, love the video.
33!
At least you look like you train.
