Awesome video of black bears in the Adirondacks. Especially enjoyed watching the bear sit in the water and appear to ponder some great bruin issue. I seldom see bears in my travels through the Adirondacks, so it is nice to get an up-close view of them. Thanks for sharing.

All that beautiful, crystal clear water in the Adirondacks and the bears pick that muddy pit. Go figure! Maybe the dry mud helps keep the bugs off them?

The wallow seems to be most active from the Mother’s Day to Father’s Day timeframe, which coincides with peak black fly season.

Defenatly don't want to setup camp around that pool of water! Seems to be a popular "Jacuzzi" for bears.

I see the ferns aren't trampled by any animals there. No through traffic. I wonder why ! That 2nd bear was HUGE !!

Not a single bird or squirrel was seen in the background at anytime in this video. I don't think I've ever looked at a spruce forest and not seen birds landing on trees and flying by.

I hiked Dix Mnts yesterday and also noticed very little birds and squirrels presence, not sure why. May be high elevation? May be not enough food since looks like most trees are birch and hemlock.
