I live in the adirondacks, on a small farm in an old historic country town with a population of about 250 people, I love where I live!

That is the NY that most people don't really think of, I visited the Adirondacks a few years ago, my first time in NY and I got to see it's wild and rugged side, very incredible landscape, beautiful forests of pine, hemlock, maple, and birch, clear lakes, swift moving streams and rivers that cascade from the alpine highlands to the lakes and valleys below, epic views from the mountain tops, and in areas with the granite cliffs, some of the scenery is reminiscent of Yosemite, beautiful place to visit

I saw this ad on a video game channel. It's the only 3 minute ad I've ever watched. I came back to see where the original came from. I liked the production that went into this. Well done.

Wow, that's epic, as the kids say. Very Lord of the Rings-esque. I'm from Saranac Lake, living in MA--nice to see my home town briefly, with a great view of Lake Flower! I miss the 'dacks.

It really is quite massive. I've spent countless hours in the park and I can truthfully say I haven't seen a fraction of what there is to see. But what I have seen was amazing. The most relaxing time of your life will be in this area. Hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, rafting, kayaking, or all at once! Truly magnificent.

Great video. I'm always upstate. Adirondacks rock. Glad they preserve this land. But only thing is, Adirondacks is more than only four hours out of the city lol.

The Adirondacks are beauitful. The Hiking was awesome and the fishing was fantastic. Theres so much to see and do but i definently recommend seeing Lake Placid and Lake George. Skiing at Gore is great. And there are so many great resorts to stay at. And if your coming from down south i would stop in Albany, its a really fun city

Go a little North, there is a town called Malone, it is about 15 miles from the Quebec border. Stop in at the IBC, it is a outdoor clothing and footwear store.

With the US and Canada with all the pristine beauty it has to offer
that you could not see it all in one life time!
Why you would spend the extra money to travel outside of the country when we have beauty like this
Take the savings for better lodging and longer stays ⛺🍳🍰🍾🍷🍻

We used to go camping up there all the time, we'd rent a cabin by Indian Lake and then head over to the park for some serious hiking. I read somewhere once that these are some of the oldest forests in the world...

It's even better in person! #FlyTheWhale can have you off the water in midtown Manhattan & up into the #Adirondacks in just over 1 hour.
I promise it will be one of the most scenic flights that you have ever been on.

    Hi keithadk,
Thank you for your input. We use the overall acreage for the park, which is inclusive of all property within the 'blue line.' We hope this helps and thank you for watching the videos. Enjoy the Adirondacks this summer!

I keep wanting to go, but it takes me 4 hours just to get to hiking spots in the Catskills, and you can do 10 - 15 miles there without hitting a road, so it's seemed pretty pointless to go further. I am from NY and am still realizing how big it is and how many parks / woods / mountains there are. Just found out we have a mountain range called the Marlboros, for example.

Just for some perspective, if the video were to depict 100 acres per second and endeavored to show the whole park - all 6 million acres - the video would have to be 17 hours long. But thx for these highlights of mostly popular places.

"We use the overall acreage for the park, which is inclusive of all property within the 'blue line.' "

Oh and I enjoy the Adirondacks all year round, because I live here.

privately owned land in any state park is still protected by the government so it is still part of the park

    • @williamminer540
      @williamminer540 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The APA (Adirondack Park Agency) controls the largest zoning area in the world. You might think you own your land, but if you are in the Blue Line, that's a no. I'm not complaining. Just saying.

Nice video. Too bad it within the first 20 seconds makes an inaccurate statement. There are not 6 million acres of wilderness, only 1,138,423 acres (APA 2011 figures). In fact approximately half of the park is privately owned. I love NY constantly makes these kinds of blatantly wrong statements to bolster the product. Really sad since the park as so much to offer and over selling it is really not necessary.

Adirondacks are beautiful but not breathtaking like the mountains out west. And just because it's bigger in terms of size of land, doesn't mean it's better than places like Yellowstone by a long shot.
