If someone is confused about buying this camera or smartphone...let me tell you...it can beat any flagship smartphone interms of image quality any day.
I'm really happy to know that this camera is still alive and kicking. As a proud Canon T7 user, I have this camera for 5 years until I can afford to buy a Canon 90d. Although the T7 had its limitations especially it's very slow auto focus, It helped me improve my skills as a photographer and videographer.
I am just starting to stream raves and concerts and I would like to use it for my air duct cleaning business to make content. Would this camera suffice?
4:10 To any aspiring wildlife photographers out there, I still wouldn't let this dissuade you if you're looking for your first DSLR. I've been shooting on one of these for about 3 years now, primarily for wildlife and landscape, and it's served me very well. The slow frame rate does get frustrating at times - aerial shots of birds, for example, can be a bit difficult to get - but it'll push you to get better at assessing and anticipating the behavior of your subject, which will always be very valuable even on a faster model. If you're like me and seeking a promotion from point-and-shoot or smartphone photography without breaking the bank, whether that's due to your budget or doubts over the mileage you'll get out of it, I can't really think of a reason not to start with this model. The one thing I'd say to avoid a lot of grief, though, is to pay attention to that ISO! As mentioned here, this camera produces some very noticeable grain at 1600 or above depending on the lighting conditions. I was already using manual shutter and aperture to fine-tune my results, and also because onboard light meters on many cameras aren't yet able to discern between dark colors and actual darkness with 100% accuracy, often yielding not-quite-right exposure recommendations as a result. (This is something you see on many cameras, not just this guy.) Noticing when you're getting a bad reading comes with experience and can be worked around when you figure out the situation-appropriate tweaks to shutter and aperture. I still relied, though, on auto ISO mainly for the ease of use. What I didn't put together right away is that the same sensor deficiencies were also occasionally producing bad ISO results. I would be shooting a dark-colored subject and/or background with very strong ambient light and the result would come out disappointingly grainy. I eventually thought to review the metadata on these shots and realized that these elements were causing the sensor to blow out the ISO to 1600 or 3200 when the scene in fact required a much lower value. I still use auto ISO under certain circumstances because it can be quite helpful in reducing the amount of time spent fiddling with settings, but your subject matter and lighting conditions will dictate whether this time-saving is worth the possible side effects. It's also nudged me further into using a standalone light meter to assist with directing my camera settings and help eliminate these issues. (Full disclosure, I've been using a cheap app that uses your phone camera to get light readings until I can shell out for an actual, high-quality handheld light meter, but it's been getting the job done well enough for my purposes, lol.)
Since you mentioned shots of birds and I have already bought this camera, I have asked and found that a 300 mm lens should suit for a beginner, is this a reliable advice?
I purchased a T7 with 18-55 and 75-300 kit lenses for just under $600 about a year ago and Tech Through The Lens was one of the 1st places I found that really helped me figure out how to make it work (thank you for that). I mainly shoot wildlife and I am by no means a professional, but I don't completely agree that it's not that great for sports or wildlife. It's true that 3fps isn't all that fast but that only limits the number of photos not the quality. The shutter speed and auto focus are more than capable of getting pretty decent pictures. I have also recently upgraded my lens options with a Sigma 150-600 zoom lens and it works great with the T7.

Though im saying this from having a 40d as my first camera and being used to a bunch of dials to quickly use manual settings so to each their own
Just got one today at Walmart for $385 I’m stoked. Bit of a learning curve going from my 10 year old Nikon to this new camera. I’m mainly using it for aerial landscape and air to air photography. Any lens recommendations?
You mentioned some alternatives for people who need more shots/second or who want to shoot video, but what if you want to do lots of low light photography? Is there a similar camera at a similar price point but that can handle higher ISO settings with less noise?
I am curious if this is good for low lighting like concert venues? I keep getting told the Mark iv is the best but it’s $4k and not sure I want to drop that yet.

Wow! I bought mine 3 or 4 yrs ago. I’ve watched a few videos on how good of a camera it is, but didn’t think it was better than some of these very expensive ones. It’s a great camera to learn photography and videography on😊.
This video might have just changed my mind on what camera to get. I was going to get the m50 because its newer and more compact. But I am only doing photos so I really don't need the nicer vireo on the m50. And they have the same sensor anyway so I might go with this camera instead which also saves me some money for a nice lens
Funny because here I am going back and forth between either purchasing this camera or the M50. Lol! Been actually overwhelming myself, I also might just go with the T7! I was only worried about how the M50 can instantly transport photos but so can this!
This video was super helpful, thank you! I'm trying to buy my first camera and the search has been pretty difficult. I want to mostly focus on pictures which this sounds good for, however I also plan on doing some filming. Also I was wondering what lens you would recommend with this camera for a beginner just looking for good quality photos. Thank you!
I am using this camera my jewelry line. It is great. I am a beginner maybe I am doing wrong. When I try to get more closer shots of a ring; some parts are blur or not clear. Do you have any idea? Or do you recommend better lens? Currently my lens is EF 18-55 mm
In Europe it is called 2000D. When I bought it in 2021 it came with the 18-55mm kit lens. Then I got a 50mm f/1.8, the 24mm f/2.8 and Tamron 70-300 f/4.

So just got mine today, first camera ever. Very stoked. Finally able to get into the photography game🙏🏻 like this comment and comment on it so I can come back to you guys and let you know my experience
Soo... what Canon camera would it be recommended for landscape photography? Would this do it or is there something more appropriate? Specially wondering for night time performance. (Have budget for the likes of this t7 or a little more)
The camera is not as critical as the lens. This is a crop sensor camera with a 1.6x crop, so it is smaller than a full frame (which is what the old 25mm film cameras were). BUT for landscape a nice wide angle is extremely useful and I would recommend the very reasonably prices Canon ef-s 10-18mm lens. I use a canon mirrorless full frame for landscape with a 16mm f2.8. With the crop factor of the aps-c sensor that 10-18mm is the equivalent focal length of a 16mm-29mm lens. Wonderful for landscape and other wide angle applications.
Im looking to buy my first camera which I will solely use for landscape photography. this is the price point im comfortable with but I want to know if there is anyother options out there for landscape photography that I should consider?
I have a Canon T7. I have been using it for a few years now and it’s been great. Would you recommend a 90D or 5D Mark IV? I want to upgrade my body with some better autofocus
I am looking to record myself woodworking. The camera is never gonna leave the tripod. Do you think this camera would be good? I want something that's gonna be in 1080p, I'll post the videos to TH-cam but really don't care if people watch or not. If people do, awesome, but I mainly just want good video of me doing my thing for current and future family to watch when I'm an old man or something lol.
Is the t7 good for macro photography? I am looking for a camera that isn't too expensive and can do macro. This is so confusing when you are new to any photography.
@@TechThroughTheLens Quick question. I'm on a super skinny budget and I'm stuck between the Canon m200 and Sony zv1f. Which would you recommend? I'll be using the camera for TikTok, IG and TH-cam.
100% the zv1f it was made for creators and does alot of things right in terms of designs and feature for that crowd. plus the lens isperfect for tiktok
Not an allrounder because it only shoots at 3fp. But I really like the ef 24 and 50 mm for beginers. The also make a similar set in RF mount for the new canon mirrorles
I want to record an event is this good for that to just leave it playing on it’s own hooked to a stand? What’s the Battery life and how long can I record for without stopping? Soo... what Canon camera would it be recommended for landscape photography?
What is a good all around versatile Canon lens to grab instead of the kit?
what camera do you suggest to have as I beginner to use especially for music videos?
Can someone tell me if it’s better to invest on an iPhone 11 for taking good photos or a canon camera rebel t7?
Thank you very much for the review! You have convinced me that this is the camera that I'm going to start out with!
I’m getting into photography right now and I want to do studio photography so thank you for this video. You earned my sub.
Does it have the self timer feature?
Im looking to buy my first camera which I will solely use for landscape photography. this is the price point im comfortable with but I want to know if there is anyother options out there for landscape photography that I should consider?
Is this good for a concert
Like the zoom and etc ?
I have a hand-me-down Rebel Xti. Would this be a considerable upgrade?
Does it have a built in flash too?
After watching this video I got everything I needed to know for video and photo. Nice!
What are the best lenses to fit this camera for real estate shooting for best quality?
5 years after using this I can say it takes great photos, the 3FPS and 24mp are its biggest fall backs for wildlife.
I have a Canon T7. I have been using it for a few years now and it’s been great. Would you recommend a 90D or 5D Mark IV? I want to upgrade my body with some better autofocus
would this camera be good for using as a webcam for streaming?
Is this better then the Nikon D5000?
Is this a good camera for podcasting?
The black and white or toy camera effect is a setting on the camera? Or that’s on the editing side?
Would you say, along with its kit lens, the T7 would be okay for shooting, say, an interview where the camera is simply fixed on a tripod?
I am looking to record myself woodworking. The camera is never gonna leave the tripod. Do you think this camera would be good? I want something that's gonna be in 1080p, I'll post the videos to TH-cam but really don't care if people watch or not. If people do, awesome, but I mainly just want good video of me doing my thing for current and future family to watch when I'm an old man or something lol.
Is this good for real estate photography? Lower lighting?
What’s the best affordable camera for concert photography???
Thank you! Definitely made me more familiar with what my camera is best made for. 👏🏾
Would this be good for railfanning
Is the t7 good for macro photography? I am looking for a camera that isn't too expensive and can do macro. This is so confusing when you are new to any photography.
Heading to Vegas In September for the first time. I just purchased this camera from Amazon, Hopefully, It will do me justice.

Is it compatible with iPhone 12 Mini?
just got a canon r7 for 250$ refurbished, I had one before but had to sell it off, it was a great camera.
I was planning to get the nikon p1000 for mainly photography, but now i feel like getting this camera instead, which one would you recommend?
the t7
@@TechThroughTheLens thank you
How about T7 in 2023 with kit lens and ef 50 and 80mm ???
I have a Nikon d3400 do you think this is an upgrade ?
Is it a good all-rounder camera for Photography ? And what lens would you recomend for a beginner?
Not an allrounder because it only shoots at 3fp. But I really like the ef 24 and 50 mm for beginers. The also make a similar set in RF mount for the new canon mirrorles
I’m trying to get into car photography, is this camera good for this type of photography?
