This setup had a s472/484 compounds, sleeved 6.7 block down to 5.9 bore, Carrillo rods, Hamilton 108/208 cam, valve springs, push rods, airdog 150, fire ringed head with exhaust porting, thread in freeze plugs, exergy 250% over injectors, dual cp3 injection pumps, stock intercooler and efi live tuning. I’m sure I’m forgetting somethings but that’s the majority of it. I built the trans/ paddle shifter setup. The comments reveal a lot of disbelief that the truck is actually this quick, but it truly was. It had a bit of wheel spin up to 60MPH. I know because I was cleaning rubber off of the front doors after this video.

Not only that, but in the reflection of the gauges you can see the outside world moving past rather quickly. The video, also, is not sped up in any fashion. Now, of course, 120 miles per hour may not be what he was travelling at, but it is still impressively quick nonetheless. And who knows? Maybe he has some mods under the hood that he either doesn't care to show or doesn't want to. Either way, this truck is pretty cool.

I just can't see the factory auto in any dodge could take that, maybe an nv4500 if you slipped the heck out of the clutch. I drive a lot but damn, never even towed anything over 14k and that was less than 10k worth.

I used an extremely rough approximation of this truck's 0-60 time using the video's clock and its acceleration is actually comparable to that of a base Tesla Model S. However, I read about a Honda racing sedan that has a 0-60 time of 1.1 seconds and I think it actually earned an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.
He just didn’t recalibrate his speedo after putting in new gears. If you’ve ever put new gears in a vehicle you know exactly what I’m talking about. He’s not really going as fast as his speedo says. For a diesel truck to move like that it’d cost $10,000+ worth of upgrades and this guy would be showing you every bit of it. Not just posting one terribly shot video from behind the steering wheel.....
I think he’s like many other people who have stupid fast project cars, they don’t drive them often because they’re not really that great for daily driving or maybe they don’t want to put a lot of miles.
That speedometer is way off, it's easy to adjust tire size with as tuner to throw off your speedometer. Be real, the reflection of the background is half fast to what you claim.
The reflection of the background is off a concave instrument cluster window and you have not even the slightest clue how far they are in relation to the truck. Piss poor way of judging actual speed. Its got a 472 over a 484 and paddle shifters not some basic bolt-ons like intake exhaust and tune

The 48RE is a four-speed transmission, so yes it will hit 50mph in first gear. The fact that it accelerates that fast with a four-speed makes it even more impressive.
Regardless of the ring and pinion gear that's not going to affect the speedo. The tone ring affects the speedo. On the third gen even that dont matter. 5k rpms on a engine that barely revs to 3200 stock. My truck tops out at 4300. Its quick just not as fast as this guys. Search for FirePunk or Power driven Diesel, this is mild compared to them.

Changing out the rear end/ final drive would especially on smaller tires too. E.g smaller rear end, running 15s That would make the revs climb fast and if the Speedo hasn't been adjusted it would think it's all running stock...

The tack gonna rev to what's its gonna rev to no matter the tire. He could have a different ratio or tire on there, but the engine revs to 5k. The tire or tune profile would be the only things that could affect the speedo. FYI with the stock tires 3200 rpms is 120 in final gear. Want to see some serious builds look up the channels I referenced. To get where he is takes at least $10k in parts. Regardless of the tires or ring gear you can hear what he did if you wrench these trucks at all. The days of being able to tune these is almost dead.

yeah. it's fast no doubt, but he was spinning wheels all the way to 60 then it caught up, so it's fast, but people see the speedometer move and think that's really how quick they're going, but when you're spinning that much...

When you do a burnout the whole time and it measures your wheel speed not how fast you're actually going

a good indication that the speedo is actually measuring the actual speed is when you let off the gas
