Why does everyone think its fake? Its an ls1 putting 412 to the ground, with short ass 4 10 gears. Its going to haul major ass. Certainly not fake.

Its because most of the ricer/tuner crowd has no idea what its like to have an actual muscle car. The modern "hot rods" are built on a platform that often starts in the 100-150 h.p. range, front wheel drive. Mostly armchair mechanics that strap on a cold air intake and a chip and think its the fast and the furious. Jealousy because they dumped 8k into a family car like a Honda only to have it barely keep up with other vehicles that were designed for performance from the factory!

    • @GreenCR21
      @GreenCR21 9 ปีที่แล้ว +67

Josh Denham haha true that man. so many kids in my town with hondas and v6 stangs that buy exhaust and shit lol. if i get a fast car it will be an ls1 or a bike. i dont see why start off with something built to hall groceries. if i got an ls1 fbody it would be the quickest car at my school.

GreenCR21 I drive an 87 BMW m3. Its bone stock besides a mild cam and exhaust. I left the intake stock because c.a.i. does absolutely nothing unless you need extra air for larger valves and bigger injectors. The ricers try to race me all the time. I had some kid in a neon with nos step up the other day and I smoked him by about 6 car lengths! What do you have in there? He says.
Well.....its a mostly stock inline 6 with about 380k miles on it. Why? HAHAHAH

Josh Denham damn 380k? wow. lol funny i drive a 1999 325i. love the beemer build quality. not fast but its built to be classy haha. i want an hr 350z or an ls1 for my next car actually

You don't always need to support a higher rev limiter. For example, my engine's redline is 6,750 rpm, rev limiter at 7k, peak power is 6,500.
However, Ford states that the valvetrain "isn't really stressed" at 7k rpm, and many people take their rev limiter up to 7,500 rpm or even 7,700 rpm with this engine during tuning, without issues. The bottom end is also very good.
It really depends on what factory engine you have, whether or not you need to beef up certain components for a bump in rpm.

  • @logel05

this setup seems similar to mine. I have 4.10 gears also and I used to wonder if my clutch was slipping but your speedo and tach are changing gears pretty close to the same speed as I have to. I have a M6 though. I was 412 rwhp at 6000 rpms. My speedo does seam off by 3 mph but the odometer tracks properly.

So true. I love my WRX, but as I tell everyone that asks if it's fast I say no, it's quick. From a dig I can jump and keep up with Vettes/Stangs/TAs to about 110mph, just like you said. Then they just walk away. It takes me 5 miles of road to hit 150. Displacement always wins in the top end. But I kill it in the twisties ;)

I put a rear end from a 96 SS in my 88 Formua 350 and changed out the guts with an eaton true trac and used the 3:42 gear from the camaro. What a difference even in the old Formula. It had 3:27 gears but I didn't realize how much better the true trac hooks compared to stock. My 99 T/A 6 speed is definitely getting 4:11's and a true trac.

He dumped around 20k on the car had the rear end checked out and the guy said its in almost perfect condition and h3 offered me 7k for it i told him no then he told me its worth 10k. And that thats the kind of rear ends the use on big full blown race cars.

And a new 175 shot nos kit and a complete stock top end for the ls1. All for $4800.00 with a blown engine. So i jumped on it dropped like 15k and a year later she is almost done and shes a monster. Red line is not the point at which the engine starts to break. It's really just a safe point to rev the engine up to. I have a Northstar motor on most applications the redline is between 6000 and 6500rpm. Despite that the engine can rev up to 8000 rpm stock and well past that with the proper mods. For the Northstars the redline is there because past 6500 you're running really low on hp. Same thing for a lot of engines including the LS motors. They might not rev to 8k but the redline isnt max rpm

@redghost105 If you want to hold 500-700rwhp reliably with putting slicks and drag radials on and launching hard, you will need something like a 9inch or a 12bolt rearend. 9inch being strongest out of everything for these cars, a nice moser 9inch rear with everything like abs, posi, and tcs will run you in the $3000-$4000 range. If you don't care about all that you can get a moser 9inch with a spool and some nice strong spline axels for probably $2000 or less.

@fccs ---- Around 700-800ftlb of torque. So I would imagine a Stock one can do 500 or something around there reliably. Mine at the moment is doing "alright". Probably needs a rebuild being as I'm at almost 110,000 miles on it but I'm waiting for a bit since it's still very drivable and as seen in video can still go through gears relatively good.

@NateCProductions - An M6 f-body with a stock tire height (~25 inches) & 4.10 gears out back will do 44mph @ 6500 RPMs in 1st gear and 118mph @ 6500 RPM in 4th. If your multiple lsx cars had a speedo that said something different, then you should find a new tuner who knows how to calibrate your speedo accurately.

What's ironic is that this was pretty fast 10 years ago but cars have gotten so much faster. My N/A 1993 foxbody coupe with intake, exhaust, bigger injectors, 4.10s is about this fast, maybe a tad quicker than this, but not as much top end. But my 2016 Mustang 2.3t that I bought for daily use has a bigger intercooler, intake, exhaust, 1 step colder spark plugs, Nitto nt555 g2s radials, Cobb Accessport and it's pro-tuned on an e85 mix by Purple Drank Tuning and it would likely give this car and my N/A Foxbody the gap. Technology has brought us a long way in a short time. But I def prefer the sound of this or my Foxbody compared to my 2.3t Mustang. It's gonna be sad in another 10-15 years when all manufacturers go all-electric throughout their entire lineup of vehicles.
