      The yoke feels physically uncomfortable to use. You kinda have only one place hold the yolk and feels unsafe to only use one hand. Your hands are kinda stuck in the same position and it makes my shoulders feel stiff.

Both the seat and steering wheel positions are adjustable as is the case in pretty much every modern car. Wow! Ryan, you are not a car reviewer, but after watching this review, I realized that even some car "reviewers" don't know how to make a great review like you did. It was well informed (as your videos always are!) and it flowed really well from on point to another. I especially liked your comments on the yoke.

      @@reaalitykinggs Always claimed as build issues. I am a design engineer and I will place the responsibility on the design team to continue simplifying the design to the level such that the parts could be "dumped in a container, shook and all fall into perfect alignment". Manufacturing should never need to struggle assembling a product. I do have a Plaid and like Ryan, can't think of another car to trade it for. And yes, we all had all sorts of ICE cars in our past.

      @reaalitykinggs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@izsakitt3711 Don't get me wrong I LOVE Tesla and am bullish long term on the stock. It's just frustrating to see these issues. By now the "Design" or the order in which the car is put together should not affect the panels, gaps, trim, saggy leather, etc...

    • @izsakitt3711
      @izsakitt3711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@reaalitykinggs Of course, I don't really know the root cause for the issues. Clearly, Tesla quality control must know. Innovations like the mega-casting should result in major quality improvement. We rave about build quality of some of the German makes. What makes them good? Engineering or manufacturing? Both? Now, reliability of those is as bad as any. Let's talk Toyota then. For now I am sold on Tesla, the philosophy and the end result.

    • @Nicholas.T
      @Nicholas.T 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Can you kindly explain then eli, why after 9 years of assembling essentially the same model S, there are STILL such terrible quality control issues, especially at this $129,000 + price point? Why is it that Tesla just can’t get it right ? I mean, there are still problems with the auto presenting door handles? Really? They haven’t changed in 9 years! I would hazzard a guess and estimate that over 1 million in total have been manufactured and installed by now.
      I can guarantee you, anyone buying a new Mercedes EQS EV at the same price point will have NONE of these QC issues. It will be perfect!
      And Eli, no disrespect to you - I’m sure you are a dedicated and conscientious employee at Tesla Fremont. But can you please shed some light on these assembly failings that are still occurring. I suspect Tesla management (all the way up to Musk himself) does not place enough emphasis on quality control. Am I right ?

    Your point about the acceleration is spot on. It’s hard to convey to people who haven’t experienced it. I have to relate it to amusement park launch rides. No noise. No drop in at heist for shifting. It just goes. Like a jet take off but harder. Before I tried it I thought it would get old quick. Nope. Maniacal cackling is only a stab of the throttle away at any time. Massive levels of self control and discipline are required. This is dangerously addictive. Like the rat that can push a lever for dopamine. You might forget friends family work and food. Lol ok a bit over the top but until you’ve tried it you can’t comprehend.

      Thats all true, but as a Model 3 performance owner that's driven the plaid, the difference just isn't worth the money right now. You get 80% of the feel of a plaid in the m3p and they're selling for almost a third of the value of a used plaid. Not to mention they handle much better and are much more fun to drive.

    • @springroll58
      @springroll58 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@myles6235 i obsessively watched every possible drag race video to compare the M3P vs Model S p100d vs Plaid and you're absolutely right; they're practically identical off the line; and the plaid is unnecessary and unusable on government roads. With that being said, I am most likely getting a used 2020 model s performance raven due to personal preference.

    Fantastic decision on the Tempest wheels! I also run the smaller wheels the X comes with (20 inches). I'm so jealous of what they've done with the new standard wheel packages. The blacked out wheels look so much better than the silvery ones Tesla previously had.
    I have a Raven Performance Model X. I opted to run aftermarket 20 inch wheels that are matte black. The aftermarket wheels were something like $2k/set and I have 2 sets. So getting stock ones that look this nice would have saved me a good amount of money.

      Concur...received my MS end of Sept 21, ordered Nov 20, also noticed a lot of defects and missing items upon delivery. Numerous paint issues such as: non-matching touch-ups paint on door hinge bracket, dirt under paint in several places, bumper had chipped paints, hood scratched, all 4 door hinge mount frame paint scratched; uneven weather seals in left B-pillar and length too short in all 4 window opening; chipped brake light corner lens (left/right); missing floor mats and trunk floor cover and upper shelve; delivered with water spots everywhere; unable to remove water spots on glass roof. Tesla delivery process is flawed. Purchase acceptance and downpayment must be made in order to open the car thus prevents you to test drive and inspect the car fully prior to making a long-term commitment. Made a service appointment hoping Tesla resolves above issues. Will follow-up with progress.

      Exactly! One could cut them some slack as a fledgling startup in the early days of manufacturing the Model S in 2012. But 9 years later, and building essentially the same vehicle, and they STILL CANNOT GET IT RIGHT!! Truly unforgivable.

    • @philliptemple4534
      @philliptemple4534 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nicholas.T The same vehicle? Um I guess the same door handle. There was a reason they closed the Model S line for months whilst they completely retooled the lines. When they launch the new Model Y with the new 4680 cell and two single casts for the chassis it will also be "just another Model Y" on the outside but I am sure there will be the first year of teething as any new model with any new car.
      Amusing you think the Plaid is just another Model S like the one in 2012. Perhaps you should compare some of the specs.

    So far 4 days in the yoke is not giving me too much trouble. My issues are like yours, the horn placement. I do not understand why it is not in the traditional position or a button on the centre of the yoke. But I also have issue with the capacity signal buttons. When entering and exiting a double lane traffic circle. I had to take my eyes off the road to look down to disengage the turn signal and try and engage the alternative signal direction, when the yoke is more than a 90 degree rotation. In a traffic circle taking eyes off the road is a really bad thing to do.
    If it was me I would like the turn signal stock back or some paddles on the back of the steering wheel. Alternatively it would be good if the direction changing was physical buttons or had some sort of tactile shape allowing me to feel the difference between the two buttons, without looking at them.

    i have a question. since the plaid revealed i don't see anyone talk about the open sunroof!! as i know it's available in model S since the beginning. is the Tesla remove it from the option with the model S or what!!?? also in the model 3 since Tesla reveal it i heard rumours that Tesla make it later or add it to the software by update!! it kind of confusion for me and i don't see or hear anyone talk about it later..!!!
    thank you for the video and god bless your car. you deserve it.
